Indiana Football Ranked 17th in USA Today Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Indiana Hoosiers Football Team are ranked 17th in the USA Today Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Hoosiers come off a 6-2 2020 season and spent the final 10 weeks in the coaches’ poll. Indiana lost in the Outback Bowl to Ole Miss. A 14 and 7 record the last two seasons has helped Indiana to Back-to-Back January Bowl Games which is a first in program history. Indiana opens the Season at Iowa on September 5th and the Hawkeyes are ranked one spot below the Hoosiers at 18th.  Alabama is ranked 1st, Ohio State 4th, Norte Dame 7th, Cincinnati 10th, Wisconsin 15th, and Penn State 20th. Indiana will host Cincinnati September 18th a week after the September 11th Home Opener against Idaho.

Indiana Men’s Soccer to Appear Five Times on National Television

Indiana Men’s Soccer will appear five times on National Television. The Hoosiers are coming off a National Runner Up season which ended May 17th in a loss to Marshall. The season was flipped to the spring due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The shortest off season in history will get started Monday August 16th with an Exhibition Match against the DePaul at 8 PM at Bill Armstrong Stadium.  The Hoosiers will travel to Northwestern Tuesday September 21st for 8 PM matchup on the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers Host Michigan Friday October 1st at 5 PM on ESPNU. IU will be at Home Tuesday October 12th for 7 PM kick against Ohio State on the Big Ten Network. Indiana travels to Penn State Sunday October 17th for a Noon start on the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers wrap up the regular season with Sunday October 31st Halloween Matchup at Maryland 1 PM on the Big Ten Network.

Indiana Volleyball to Appear Three Times on National Television

Indiana Volleyball will appear on National Television three times this season. The Conference announced the television schedule for the Big Ten Network and ESPN Networks which includes a record 53 matches televised this season.  The Hoosiers game at Ohio State September 29th will start at 6 PM on the Big Ten Network. Indiana’s October 27th Home Match against Minnesota will start at 7 PM on the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers Game at Nebraska on October 13th will be at 9 PM on ESPNU.  All Non-Televised Big Ten Games will be televised on Big Ten Network Plus which a subscription service for all non-televised events that involve Big Ten Teams.

Brownsburg Little League Baseball Team Eliminated from Great Lakes Regional

The Brownsburg Little League Baseball team lost to the Hamilton West Side Little League from Hamilton Ohio 2-1 in the Great Lakes Region Tournament in Whitestown Indiana Tuesday Morning. The loss sent Brownsburg home after an 0-2 record in this double elimination tournament. The Game was scoreless until the 7th inning when Ohio scored 2 twice. Brownsburg got one across in the bottom of the seventh inning but were unable to get the tying run across. Brownsburg had 7 hits for the game along with 2 errors. Ohio had just 4 hits and no errors. Brownsburg has been Indiana State champion 5 times to qualify for this regional round. They made it four straight times from 1999-2002 and won the Great Regional in 1999 and 2001 making it the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania. Current Chicago White Sox Pitcher Lance Lynn was on the 1999 Brownsburg Little League Team that made it to the World Series.
