
Warrant served to Ellettsville Spa
Last Friday, members of the Ellettsville Police Department were aided by many local agencies in serving a search warrant on the Sunflower 99 Spa, located at the Richland Plaza in Ellettsville. The warrant was issued following a year-long long investigation into the possibility of illlegal activity at the Spa. The Investigation will continue and more information will follow.
Bloomington Parks Department seeks those interested in 4th of July Parade

Winning lottery tick sold in Indiana
A $150,000 winning ticket was sold in Indiana for last Saturday’s Powerball drawing. The ticket in question matched four numbers and the Powerball adding the triple multiplier. It was sold at a Food Mart in Williamsport, Indiana. For those of us who didn’t win, the next Powerball drawing is tonight, with an estimated jackpot of $20 million.
Educator of the Year Award Nominations are open
Nominations are now open for the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year Awards which recognizes local teachers, administrators and staff from both Monroe County Community Schools and Richland-Bean Blossom Community Schools. This will be the 23rd annual celebration, being held this year September 26th. But your nominations are due August 5th. Check out the Bloomington Chambers website for all of the details.
Ivy Tech receives 2 awards
Ivy Tech Bloomington has been awarded two Indiana Career & Technical Education awards for excellence. Amelia Ward was the recipient of the Award for Excellence in the Postsecondary Student category. And Respiratory Therapy is the recipient of an Award for Excellence in the Outstanding Postsecondary Program category. The presentation was made at a recent event by he Indiana Commission for Higher Education
Veterans fly in WW2 era biplane
A group of senior US veterans had the opportunity to fly over Indianapolis in a restored World War 2 – era. Boeing Stearman biplane which took off from Eagle Creek Airport yesterday morning. Dream Flights, a non profit organization has been active since 2011dedicated to honoring seniors and military veterans, hoping to make heroes wishes come true.
