Indiana Football Ranked 17th Associated Press Preseason Poll

Indiana Football is ranked 17th in the Associated Press preseason poll. It is the 3rd time that the Hoosiers have cracked the preseason AP poll. The other two times occurred in 1968 in 1969. The Hoosiers in 2020 were 6-2 finished 13th in the final regular season poll and ranked for 9 consecutive weeks and cracked the top 10 for the first time since 1969. The Hoosiers beat three top 25 teams matching a school record from 1945. The Hoosiers open the season at Number 18 Iowa on September 4th.  

Indiana and DePaul Men’s Soccer play to scoreless draw

The Number 2 ranked team in preseason Indiana and DePaul played to a scoreless draw at Bill Armstrong Stadium. It was the first of three exhibition matches for the Hoosiers. Indiana will play Wright State on Thursday at 7:30 PM Grand Park in Westfield and Saturday against Louisville 8 pm at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The Hoosiers are coming off a National Runner Up season in the spring when the lost to Marshall in May.  Indiana had 20 players play in the match and outshot the Blue Demons 9-3. IU held 8-2 advantage in corner kicks and the IU goalkeepers made 2 saves in the match.

Indiana Women’s Basketball Names Graduate Managers for 2021-22 Season

Indiana Women’s Basketball announced that Liam Shanahan, Shayna Gore and Brittany Patrick as graduate mangers for the 2021-22 season. Shanahan is from Philadelphia, PA and was 3-year student manager and practice player for University of Pittsburgh Women’s Basketball team. Gore played at Marshall from 2015-19 she was a 3-time Conference USA Selection averaging 20 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. A Native of Logan West Virginia, Gore Scored 2,081 for 3rd best in school history. Patrick played 117 games at Southern Illinois, 59 games as a starter. The DeKalb Illinois Native finished 5th in school history with 377 assists and 10th with 143 steals.

2022 Guard Jalen Hood-Schifino Narrows His List to Indiana and Tennessee  

Class of 2022 Basketball guard Jalen Hood-Schifino will chose between Indiana and Tennessee on Tuesday August 24th. He eliminated Memphis Florida and Texas which were in his top five. Hood-Schifino is 6-4 from Charlotte North Carolina but plays at prep powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida and AAU ball for Team Thad. He had committed to Pittsburgh in December 2019 but reopened his recruitment in July. He took an Official Visit to Indiana in Late June.
