Indiana University Athletics Launches Women’s Excellence Initiative

Indiana University Athletics announced the launch of the Indiana University Athletics Women’s Initiative, a fundraising effort designed to elevate the 13 Women’s varsity sports at IU and to enhance the overall student athlete experience of IU’s nearly 350 female student athletes. As the name suggests, the funds generated from Indiana Athletics Women’s experience will exclusively support IU’s varsity programs and its student athletes. Enhanced athletic, academic and leadership opportunities are among the areas that will be targeted.        

Indiana Men’s Golf Announces 2021-22 Schedule

Indiana University Golf announced the 2021-22 schedule. The Hoosiers will play 11 regular season tournaments. The Hoosiers kick off the season by hosting the Hoosier Collegiate September 5th and 6th at the Pfau Course their only home meet of the year. The Hoosiers will play in West Lafayette twice October 11-12th and April 9th and 10th. The Big Ten Championship will be April 29th-May 1st at Pete Dye Course in French Lick Indiana.

Miami Dolphins Release Former Hoosier Jerome Johnson

Former Indiana Defensive Tackle Jerome Johnson was waived by the Miami Dolphins. Johnson was undrafted signee with the Dolphins in May. Johnson did not play in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears where they lost 20-13. Johnson was unable to move up the depth chart over the summer. Johnson played at Indiana from 2017-2020, played in all 45 games with 29 starts. Johnson had 111 tackles, 63 solo, 13.5 sacks for 97 yards and 21 tackles for loss which was 109 yards. Johnson added two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one interception, four quarterback hurries and one blocked field goal.

2022 Basketball Forward Noah Clowney Puts Indiana in His Final Four Schools

2022 Forward Noah Clowney announced his four finalists and they are Alabama, Florida, Indiana and Virginia Tech. Clowney is 6-9 from Dorman High School in South Carolina. As a Junior Clowney averaged 10.2 Points, 8.2 Rebounds and 2.5 Blocks and Dorman has been in the state championship game the last five seasons. Clowney will visit Indiana on August 27th, Florida on September 3rd, Virginia Tech on September 10th and Alabama September 24th.  Indiana has 2 commitments for 2022 with CJ Gunn from Lawrence North HS in Indianapolis and Kaleb Banks from Georgia. Jalen Hood-Schifino who plays at prep School Florida and originally from North Carolina will announce next Tuesday between Indiana and Tennessee.
