

Lawrence County Deputy dies in off-duty motorcycle accident
25 year-old Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brenten Trueblood died over the weekend as a result of injuries he sustained in a Greene County motorcycle accident. Deputy Trueblood was off-duty during the crash, which took place after 11pm Saturday evening on State Road 445, near the southbound exit of Intestate 69. No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the accident.
Independent review of IU’s Dunn Meadow policy released
An Independent Legal review has recently published findings that Indiana University Administration actions in April relating to Anti-Israeli protests at Dunn Meadow, balanced free speech, campus safety, and regular university operations, and were permissible under university policies and the First Amendment. IU called the State Police to enforce school policy toward the end of April after students and many outsiders began erecting tents and structures on campus, and although there were dozens of arrests, the Monroe County Prosecutor refused to file any charges.
Jim Irsay recovering from 2 separate incidents
Jim Irsay, Owner of the Indianapolis Colts, is working through rehabilitation of a pair of recent incidents. Irsay developed a leg, quad, and back issues following a fall he took in his room a few months back, and in mid-May, suffered a serious hematoma. He is hoping to be available to make an appearance at the Colts’ training camp practice at Grand Park Sports Campus., and positively plans on being on stage for the Hall of Fame induction of Tom Benson on August 3rd.
91 year-old serial flasher strikes again, this time in Muncie
91-year-old Indianapolis man is accused of flashing three teenaged girls at a department store in Muncie, Indiana. Edward Uhles was charged with one count of display of matter harmful to minors, and one count of public indecency. Uhles has a nearly 15-year record of similar incidents, being arrested 47 times throughout a number of counties, including Monroe. He has been labeled a serial Flasher.
Bloomington Commission of Black Males to greet children on first day of school
The City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Black Males (CSBM) will join area fathers, mentors, and role models to welcome students back to school in person on Wednesday, August 7 at 8:30 a.m. at Fairview Elementary School in Bloomington. The Commission encourages men and women of all races, nationalities, and faith backgrounds to support them by taking their children to school on the first day. Volunteers can register here.
