Wawa approved for Bedford
The City of Bedford has just approved the building of a new Wawa convenience store. The East coast chain of gas stations comboed with a deli has planned 60 locations to open in the Hoosier state over the next 10 years. Bedford’s Wawa at the intersection of State Road 37 and 5th Street is scheduled to open in 2025, along with several others up in Central Indiana.

i-69 lane closures overnight in Monroe County next week
Next week there will be lane closures on I69 in Monroe County between Rockport Road and the State Road 37 exit. The crews will be installing in-road sensors between 9pm and 5am starting Wednesday the 4th and are scheduled to wrap up early morning on Saturday the 7th

Food Truck Friday
Bloomington’s Food Truck Friday at Switchyard Park todAY will feature 13 trucks from 11am-9pm. Opening music act is Old n Gold at 5pm followed by the 7pm start of Lowlanders.

Black Male Youth Summit scheduled for September 12 in Bloomington
The City of Bloomington is inviting middle school and high school-aged males to attend the fifth annual Black Male Youth Summit on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bloomington City Hall. The summit is designed for young Black males to recognize their strengths and achievements, both individually and within their communities.

MCPLs closed on Labor Day
All of Monroe County Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, September 2 in honor of Labor Day. Regular hours and services resume on Tuesday, September 3. You can still use your library card online to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, music, and more.

Bedford’s Trash n Treasure scheduled for Saturday, September 7th
Bedford’s Annual yard sale event Trash n Treasure is rapidly approaching. Saturday September 7th from 9am – 1pm head over to Bedford’s Thorton Park on Q street for all sorts of great finds. Or you can sell your items by purchasing a double sized parking space for just  $10.
