Bloomington North, South at Home Edgewood on The Road of Week 2 of HS Football

For the 2nd week in row the Bloomington North and Bloomington South will be home and Edgewood hits the road for the first time this season as week 2 of the High School Football season kicks off. Bloomington North hosts Bedford North Lawrence while Bloomington South Host Martinsville and Edgewood travels to Monrovia all three games start at 7 PM.  Bloomington North is coming off a 48-8 win over Greenwood while Bloomington South beat New Albany 50-20 and Edgewood lost to Mitchell 28-26. Martinsville beat Bedford North Lawrence 45-14 last Saturday afternoon at Home and Monrovia beat Indianapolis Ritter 41-12 at home.  

Indiana State Kicks Off The 2021 College Football Season Tomorrow

Indiana State will be the first College in Indiana to kick off the 2021 regular season when the host Eastern Illinois tomorrow night at 6:05 PM at Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute. The Game will be televised on ESPN+. The Sycamores will be playing for the first time in 644 days due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. The last time they played was the end of the 2019 season when they beat Missouri State on the road 51-24. Eastern Illinois leads the series 43-40-4 but Indiana State has won the last two in the series and has won their last two games going back to end of the 2019 season. The Sycamores have three Bloomington Natives on the Roster. Redshirt Senior Defensive Lineman Kaleb Brewer and Freshman Wide Receiver Bailen Murphy of Bloomington North along with Freshman Defensive Back Maddix Blackwell of Bloomington South.   

Cleveland Browns Sign Former Indiana University Player Tegray Scales

The Cleveland Browns have signed former Indiana University Linebacker Tegray Scales. Scales was a free agent and played 4 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020. Scales is 6-0 230 pounds and played at Indiana from 2104-17. He was undrafted and has been signed to the practice squads of the Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but never made the roster until his second stint with the steelers last season. Scales played for the Dallas Renegades in the XFL in 2020 before the league shut down operations due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.     

Indiana Swimming Promotes Emily Eaton to Assistant Coach

Indiana University Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach Ray Looze has promoted Emily Eaton to Assistant Swimming Coach. She will be director of Women’s and Men’s recruiting and this will be her 3rd season in Bloomington. Eaton Spent 2 years at Missouri and a season at Albion College in Michigan. She was a three time All American at Grand Valley State in Michigan from 2013-16 and got her masters at the University of Missouri in 2020.
