Indiana Men’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule

The Indiana University men’s basketball program announced their 2021-22 schedule which begins Tuesday, November 9 against Eastern Michigan and will mark the beginning of the coaching tenure of former IU All-American Mike Woodson who begins his first season as head coach.  All totaled the Hoosiers will play 19 times in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, including 10 Big Ten matchups which begin Saturday, December 4 against Nebraska. Game times and television designations will be released by the Big Ten in the coming weeks.

“I’m excited for our team to get back on the floor,” said Woodson.  “It was nice to get a couple of games in the Bahamas, but we have to get ourselves ready for some challenging non-conference games and the extremely tough Big Ten season.”

Following the EMU game, IU will host another MAC opponent, Northern Illinois on Friday, November 12. The Hoosiers will take on St. John’s of the Big East in the Gavitt Games on Wednesday, November 17 and then host three games in the Hoosier Challenge against Louisiana, Sunday, November 21, Jackson State, Tuesday, November 23, and Marshall, Saturday, November 27. The Cream and Crimson will close out November in Syracuse on Tuesday, November 30 for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The Hoosiers open the December schedule with its Big Ten home opener against Nebraska then travels to Madison to face Wisconsin on Wednesday, December 8. IU will host Merrimack on Sunday, December 12 before taking the week off for final exams.  Play will resume against Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, December 18. The calendar year will close out against Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, December 22 and UNC Asheville, Wednesday, December 29.

The final 18 games on the schedule will consist of conference matchups with the Hoosiers traveling to Penn State on Sunday, January 2. A two-game homestand awaits with Ohio State visiting Bloomington on Thursday, January 6 and Minnesota coming to town on Sunday January 9. Indiana will take a two-game road trip to Iowa on Thursday, January 13 and to Nebraska on Monday, January 17 before returning home for three games including Purdue, Thursday, January 20, Michigan, Sunday, January 23 and Penn State on Wednesday, January 26. The Hoosiers will finish the month at Maryland, Saturday, January 29.

Illinois will visit Bloomington Saturday, February 5 and then IU heads to Northwestern on Tuesday, February 8 and will be at Michigan State, Saturday, February 12. IU is back home against Wisconsin, Tuesday, February 15 and then visits Ohio State on Saturday, February 19.  A home game with Maryland on Thursday, February 24 coincides with a week that also sees the Cream and Crimson travel to Minnesota, Sunday, February 27.

IU will host Rutgers the final week of the season on Wednesday, March 2 before ending the regular season on Saturday, March 5 at Purdue. The 25th Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held Wednesday, March 9 thru Sunday March 13.

The Hoosiers single-play conference games this year include Rutgers, Michigan and Illinois at home and Michigan State, Northwestern and Iowa on the road.  IU is not expected to schedule any traditional exhibition games this season against non-Division opponents.

Mini-series packages will go on sale the week of September 20th.

18-Game Big Ten Schedule Announced for Indiana Women’s Basketball

 The Big Ten Conference has announced its 18-game league slate for the Indiana Hoosiers for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

 The Hoosiers are coming off its sixth-straight 20-win season in 2020-21 where it finished 21-6 overall and 16-2 in Big Ten play while advancing to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. All five starters return from that campaign including All-Americans junior forward Mackenzie Holmes and senior guard Grace Berger.

 The schedule begins with three games in the 2021, kicking off with Penn State at home on Monday, Dec. 6. The Hoosiers then travel to Ohio State on Dec. 12 and finish off the calendar year at Rutgers on Dec. 30.

Returning in the New Year, Indiana will square off with the league’s reigning champion Maryland at home (Jan. 2) and travel to Wisconsin (Jan. 5). After hosting Nebraska (Jan. 13) the Hoosiers head to West Lafayette for the annual Barn Burner Trophy game at Purdue (Jan. 16).

Michigan State comes to town (Jan. 19) and heads to Iowa (Jan. 23) in the middle of the month. January closes with games against Illinois at home (Jan. 27) and at Michigan (Jan. 30), who advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen last season.

 IU will play its first consecutive league home games against Minnesota (Feb. 3) and versus in-state foe Purdue (Feb. 6) before heading back out on the road at Illinois (Feb. 10) and to Nebraska (Feb. 14). Northwestern (Feb. 17) and Iowa (Feb. 20) close out the regular season home schedule for IU, who wraps things up at Maryland on either Feb. 25 or 26.

Game times and TV designations along with the rest of the Hoosiers’ non-conference slate will be announced at a later date.

Indiana Women’s Golf Announces 2021-22 Slate

Indiana head women’s golf coach Clint Wallman announced the 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The schedule includes 10 regular season events and two tournaments held at The Pfau Course.

“We are extremely excited to get back to a full season of college golf,” said Coach Wallman. “This year’s schedule presents us with challenges and opportunities. Challenges to compete against the nation’s best and opportunities to put ourselves in position for postseason play. I know our student-athletes are ready to go and compete.”

The Hoosiers will begin the season at the U-M Golf Course as participants of the Wolverine Invitational from Sept. 13-14 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The following week, IU will head to Madison, Wis., for the Badger Invitational at the University Ridge Golf Course on Sept. 19-21.

Indiana will host the Courtney Cole Invitational at The Pfau Course. The 36-hole tournament will take place from Oct. 4-5. The fall slate will conclude with a trip to Medinah, Ill., for the Illini Invitational from Oct. 11-12 at the Medinah Country Club Golf Course.

Big Ten Match Play will kick off the spring slate on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Island Course at Innisbrook in Florida. After a couple weeks off, the Hoosiers will return to the course for the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Arizona. The tournament will run from Feb. 27-28 and be hosted by the Wisconsin Badgers.

The month of March will bring three tournaments for IU starting with the Vystar Gators Invitational (March 4-5) at the Mark Bostic Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. Next up, Indiana will hit Johns Island, S.C., for the Briar’s Creek Invitational (March 14-15) at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. The Hoosiers will then take on the field at the Chattanooga Classic (March 27-29) at the Council Fire Golf Club.

The regular season will close back in Bloomington with the IU Invitational from April 9-10 at The Pfau Course.

Postseason play will begin with the 2022 Big Ten Championships at the Fox Chapel Golf Course in Pittsburgh from April 22-24. The NCAA Regionals will be held from May 9-11 with selections being made on April 27. The 2022 NCAA Championships will be contested at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., from May 20-25.

Indiana Women’s Soccer Host Murray State Tonight and Travel to Kansas State Sunday

The Indiana women’s soccer team (4-1-1) will host Murray State this evening at 7pm at Bill Armstrong Stadium and travel to Kansas State for a match on Sunday at 1pm. 

Murray State comes into the match with a 4-1 record on the season. The Racers have won two straight (Florida Atlantic and Florida International) after a 2-1 loss to Xavier. Murray State finished with a record of 9-2 in the spring 2021 season. They have 10 goals scored on the year led by Abby Jones who has three goals and one assist.

The Kansas State Wildcats are 4-2 on the season. After starting the season with a loss to Weber State, Kansas State has won four of their last five matches. The Wildcats travel to Purdue for a Thursday night match before returning home to play the Hoosiers.

Freshman Jordyn Levy earned recognition from the Big Ten this week as she was selected the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Levy scored two goals on the week, including the game winning goal against Western Michigan, and leads the Hoosiers with three goals on the season.

Against Southeast Missouri State on Sunday the Hoosiers scored six goals, their most in a match since the 2011 season. All six goals came in the first half of the match, which set a program record for goals in a half. Six different players scored the six goals for the Hoosiers.
