Indiana Women’s Basketball Announces Full 2021-22 Schedule

Indiana Women’s Basketball has finalized its 2021-22 schedule with the announcement of its complete non-conference slate.
In all, the Hoosiers will face four teams in non-conference action that made the 2021 NCAA Tournament including defending national champions Stanford, Kentucky, NC State and Wright State.
IU is coming off its sixth-straight 20-win season in 2020-21 where it finished 21-6 overall and 16-2 in Big Ten play while advancing to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. All five starters return from that campaign including All-Americans junior forward Mackenzie Holmes and senior guard Grace Berger
The Hoosiers will face Indianapolis in exhibition play on Nov. 5 as a tune up to the regular season opener at Butler on Nov. 10. The doors open back up to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Nov. 14 when IU hosts the Kentucky Wildcats. It will also host Norfolk State (Nov. 16) before heading out on a three-game road stretch over the Thanksgiving holiday when it heads to Quinnipiac (Nov. 20).
Previously announced, Indiana will face the Cardinal (Nov. 25) and Miami (FL) (Nov. 27) in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Classic in the Bahamas. Returning home in December, the Hoosiers will get another test in NC State (Dec. 2) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge which will be a rematch of the 2021 NCAA Sweet Sixteen matchup. Indiana was victorious in that postseason game, defeating the Wolfpack, 73-70.
non-conference games will be sandwiched in between the first two league games of the season as IU hosts Fairfield (Dec. 9) and Western Michigan (Dec. 19). In its last two games before Big Ten play, the Hoosiers will host Wright State (Dec. 21), who advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round, and SIUC (Dec. 23).
Season tickets (renewals and new purchases) will go on sale on Monday, September 20th. All game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.

Indiana Football Host 7th Ranked Cincinnati Tomorrow at Noon

Indiana University Football will host 8th ranked Cincinnati tomorrow at noon on ESPN and in front of a sold-out Memorial Stadium.  Gates will open at 10 AM instead of 10:30 AM to accommodate the crowd of 52,656 thousand that are expected tomorrow. The Hoosiers are 1-1 coming off a 56-14 home win against Idaho last Saturday Night and head coach Tom Allen reached win number 25 in his 48th game as Hoosier Coach to become the 3rd fastest coach to 25 victories behind James M Sheldon in 40 games and James H Horne in 46 games.  The Hoosiers will wear retro uniforms to honor the late Bill Mallory’s teams from 1987-96. This will be the first time since September 23rd, 2000 that the Hoosiers and Bearcats have meet. Indiana won that matchup in Bloomington 42-6. Indiana leads the all-time series 9-3-2 and are 6-2-1 at home. Cincinnati comes in 2-0 with wins over Miami Ohio 49-14 and Murray State 42-7 both at home. The Bearcats travel on the road for the first time this season and are coached by Luke Fickell who is 37-14 in his fifth season as Bearcat’s coach. Cincinnati is 33-6 since the start of 2018. Fickell was the head coach at Ohio State in 2011 going 6-7. Desmond Ritter a senior from Louisville Kentucky is the quarterback for Cincinnati is 34-47 passing with 538 yards 6 touchdowns and 1 interception.  The Hoosiers will look for another big game out of running back Stephen Carr who had over hundred yards rushing a touchdown in his Memorial Stadium debut after transferring from USC in the Offseason.

Bloomington North Home Bloomington South on The Road for Week 5 of HS Football

Bloomington North 3-1 will look to rebound from a 28-14 loss to crosstown rival Bloomington South when they host Terre Haute North tonight at 7:30 PM. The Cougars come in avaregaing 38.0 points per game and give up 19.5. Senior Quarterback Recce Lozano has 5,559 passing yards and 1,457 rushing yards in his career. Terre Haute North is 2-2 after a 20-14 win over its Crosstown rival Terre Haute South. The Patriots are averaging 27.8 points and giving up 26.0. The Bloomington South Panthers are 4-0 and travel to Terre Haute South to face the Braves. The Panthers average 39.8 Points Per Game and give up 18.5. Terre Haute South is 0-4 and averages 10.0 points on offense and gives up 31.8. As previsouly announced earlier this week Edgewood’s home game with South Putnam has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within the Edgewood program. South Putnam will travel to Eastern Hancock this evening as replacement game.

Indianapolis Colts Host Los Angeles Rams in Week 2

The Indianapolis Colts Will Host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 of the NFL season this Sunday in Lucas Oil Stadium at 1 PM on FOX. The Colts are coming off a 28-16 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are coming off 34-14 win against the Chicago Bears Last Sunday Night at home. The Rams are led by Matthew Stafford who was traded from the Detroit Lions in the Offseason. Stafford was 20-26 passing for 321 yards and 1 touchdown. Carson Wentz made his Indianapolis Colts debut last week and was 25-38 passing for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wentz was traded in the offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles.
