Indiana Women’s Soccer Host Iowa Tonight
Indiana Women’s Soccer will be in action tonight when they host Iowa at 8 PM on Big Ten Network. Indiana is 6-2-1 and Iowa is 7-1-1 with their only loss coming at Kansas. Iowa is coming off Big Ten Tournament championship last spring and lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to UCLA. The Hoosiers won last years matchup 2-0 in Bloomington. Indiana has posted six shutouts in 9 games this season. Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenberg has 5 of those and shares the other with Coast Lipias and Caitlin Arbuckle.
Indiana Men’s Soccer Beats Northwestern 2-1
Indiana Men’s Soccer beat Northwestern 2-1 in Evanston Tuesday Night. The Wildcats scored first when Vincente Castro scored at the 5:49 mark. After halftime it was all Indiana, Samuel Sarver scored at the 46:19 mark and Herbert Endeley scored at the 51:56 mark. IU outshot the Wildcats 7-5 and 3-2 on shots on goal. Both teams made 1 save coming in the 2nd half. Indiana had 10 corner kicks to 1 for Northwestern and Northwestern committed 14 fouls to 7 for the Hoosiers. Indiana is 4-2-1 and 1-1 in the Big Ten Conference. Northwestern is 2-4-2 and 0-2 in the Big Ten Conference. Indiana will travel to Michigan State this Sunday 3 PM on Big Ten Network Plus.
Indiana Women’s Golf Finishes 10th at Badger Invitational
Indiana Women’s Golf Finished 10th at the Badger Invitational in Madison Wisconsin. The Hoosiers finished with a team score of 921 which was 57 over par. SMU won the event with a score of 875 followed by Norte Dame, Old Dominion, Wisconsin and Washington State in the top five. Aine Donegan was top individual player for the Hoosiers with a 220 total score which was 4 over par and tied for 10th overall. The Hoosiers Host the Courtney Cole Invitational at the Pfau Course October 4th and 5th.
IHSAA Fall Parings Show Dates Announced
The dates for the Fall IHSAA Sports State tournament draws were announced. All four will be shown on www.IHSAAtv.org. Boys and Girls Soccer Parings will be Sunday September 26th at 7 PM. Boys Tennis will be Monday September 27th at 7 PM. Volleyball will be Sunday October 3rd at 7 PM and Football will be Sunday October 10th at 5 PM. Greg Rakestraw will host the Soccer Tennis and Volleyball shows. While Bob Lovell of Indiana Sports Talk and Paul Condry of Regional Radio Sports Network and Indiana Football Digest will have the Football Parings Show. The parings for the Unified Flag Football Tournament were announced on Monday.
