North Florida Transfer Josh Harris Joins Indiana University Men’s Basketball Indiana has picked up a commitment from North Florida transfer forward Josh Harris on Tuesday, he announced. That news comes after Harris visited IU earlier in the week. The 6-foot-8 and 220-pound Harris had an impressive freshman debut season for the Ospreys in 2024-25. He started and played in 30 games and averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds on 55.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three in 22.5 minutes per game in 2024-25. His 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game lead all ASUN freshman. His 55.7 percent from the field led all conference freshman, is third in the conference and stands 45th nationally.

Harris posted 10 or more points in 17 games, 20 or more points in five and 30 or more points in one. He recorded four double doubles this season. Harris turned in a career-high 31 points on 12-20 from the field and 2-3 from three, in addition to nine rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes at Queens (N.C.) on Jan. 23. The 31 points were a career high, team individual season high, and the most in North Florida Division-I history (2005-Present). His 13% offensive rebounding rate was No. 72 throughout all of Division I college basketball. Harris was a teammate of incoming IU guard Jasai Miles in 2024-25. Indiana now has either 11 or 12 players on the 2025-26 roster, depending on the status of Luke Goode’s hardship waiver request. The Pembroke Pines, Fla. product should have three years of eligibility remaining.

Indiana University Football Lands Lawrence “Jay” Timmons for the Class of 2026 Indiana continues to add to its 2026 recruiting class with a Monday evening addition of Pennsylvania-based cornerback Lawrence “Jay” Timmons.  He made the call after a weekend visit in Bloomington. Timmons is the No. 44 overall corner in the 2026 class according to the On3 industry average.  The 5-foot-11 and 175-pound Timmons could end up playing safety in college. He’s a 3-star and the No. 477 player overall in the class.  He chose IU over Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Syracuse and others. Timmons is the son of former NFL linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who spent a decade with the Pittsburgh Steelers and won a Super Bowl with the franchise based in IU coach Curt Cignetti’s hometown. As a junior at Pine Richland H.S. in Gibsonia, Pa., Timmons had 33 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 8 pass break-ups and 3 defensive touchdowns.  He also caught 24 passes for 485 yards and four more scores. Timmons is the sixth verbal commit in IU’s rapidly growing 2026 class.

Former Indiana University Women’s Basketball Player Henna Sandvik Transfers to the University of Wyoming The last Indiana women’s basketball player who left via the transfer portal has found her college destination. Guard Henna Sandvik, who played at Indiana from 2022-25, will transfer to Wyoming. The Wyoming women’s basketball program announced Sandvik’s transfer on their social media feed. Sandvik, a native of Helsinki, Finland, played sparingly during her Indiana career, though she took on a larger role in the 2025 season. Sandvik averaged 7.9 minutes per game and averaged 1.1 points. Her minutes went up to 10 per game in 2025 as he began to fill in with players like Lexus Bargesser and Sydney Parrish hurt. She was not much of a scoring threat, but she was solid defensively. Her best career scoring effort was a 13-point game against Bellarmine in a 95-61 Indiana victory on Dec. 15, 2024. It was the only double-digit scoring game of Sandvik’s Indiana career. Sandvik joins a solid team. The Cowgirls (Wyoming’s official branding genderizes its nickname) were 22-12 in 2025 and finished second in the Mountain West Conference. Wyoming hasn’t had a losing season since 2016.

Five other former Hoosiers had already announced their new basketball destinations. Lexus Bargesser (Colorado State), Julianna LaMendola (Grand Canyon), Yarden Garzon (Maryland), Sharnecce Currie-Jelks (Murray State) and Lilly Meister (Kansas) all previously announced their future schools. Interestingly, Bargesser and Sandvik joined two rival’s schools in Colorado State and Wyoming. With the exception of one year in the 1960s, the two schools, only an hour apart, have been in the same conference since 1921. Jerni Kiaku became the fifth player to join the Indiana roster. Indiana has added Zania Socka-Nguemen, a 6-3 transfer forward from UCLA. Former Virginia forward Edessa Noyan has also committed. Guards Chloe Spreen (Alabama), Phoenix Stotijn (Arkansas) and Jerni Kiaku (Duquesne) have also committed to the Hoosiers. The Indiana newcomers join a roster that also includes guards Shay Ciezki, Lenee Beaumont and Kadlecova as well as forwards Faith Wiseman and Sydney Fenn.

Taylor University Softball Season Comes to a Close in Play-In Game Loss Against Spring Arbor The Taylor softball team saw its season come to a close on Tuesday with an 8-1 loss against Spring Arbor (13-35, 12-24 CL) in the Crossroads League Tournament play-in game. Delaney Barton led the squad with a pair of hits, including an RBI single in the bottom of the third, as the catcher finished the season with 12 hits in her final six games to post career-highs in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage.
The offense delivered eight hits, but no extra-base knocks for Taylor, who stranded eight runs and produced just a single run in a disappointing outing at the plate as a team. The Trojans fell behind early, giving up a pair of runs in the first before the Cougars extended the lead in the third with another run.

Barton drove in classmate Livie Lehmann as a two-out rally started by a Lehmann single and followed by a walk by Kaylee Larkin produced Taylor’s lone run of the ballgame on a single by Barton down the left-field line. The Cougars added runs in the fourth and sixth before Barton began the bottom of the sixth with her second hit, and Jayci Kitchen followed with a pinch-hit knock to give TU some momentum late in the game. Unfortunately, the two were left stranded in scoring position as a pair of strikeouts ended the inning. Taylor (30-21, 19-17 CL) will look to bounce back next season as the entire starting lineup is set to return along with a pair of pitchers as just three senior’s graduate.
