
Indiana University Women’s Basketball Clicks on All Cylinders in a Rout Over Missouri S&T Fans got their first look at the 2025-26 Indiana Hoosiers Women’s Basketball Team Monday Night as they cruised to a 100-32 win over the Missouri S&T Miners, a division II program from Rolla, Missouri in the Hoosiers lone exhibition game before the regular season starts next Tuesday Night against the Lipscomb Bison at 7 PM inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers lost nine players a year ago. Shay Ceizki is the lone starter returning along with Redshirt Sophomore Lenee Beaumont who missed all last season with an injury along with Sophomores Faith Wiseman, Valentyna Kadlecova and Sydney Fenn who missed all last season with a Knee Injury. It was announced that Fenn will miss this season as well as continuing to rehab from her procedure.
Indiana added six players from the transfer portal and two freshmen as Teri Moren looks to keep her streak of consecutive of 11 20-win seasons going and five straight NCAA Tournament Appearances. The Hoosiers started Shay Ciezki, Lenee Beaumont, Valentyna Kadlecova, Zania Socka-Negumen and Freshman Neveah Caffey. The Hoosiers played all 12 players that were available and 11 of them scored Jade Ondineme was the only one not score as she entered the game with 2:37 left to go in the fourth quarter as she pulled down 2 rebounds and had a steal. The Hoosiers started the game with Zocka-Neugmen hitting a baseline jumper and then a post up down low to take a 4-0 lead. Norah Gum got the Miners on the board to make it 4-2 as the Hoosiers drained back-to-back three pointers by Ciezki and Beaumont to make it 10-2 and the Hoosiers were up 26-5 at the end of the first quarter as the Hoosiers were 11-19 from the field for 58% and 4-10 from three-point range for 40%.
Missouri S&T’s Megan Aulbert hit back-to-back buckets for the Miners to make it 28-9 but Valentyna Kadlecova scored 8 straight points including two triples to make 33-11. Shay Ciezki scored 9 points as the Hoosiers lead 47-19 at halftime. Indiana was 19-35 from the field for 54%, 7-17 from three-point range for 41% and 2-4 from the free throw line for 50%. Ceizki had 12 points to lead the Hoosiers at Halftime. Neavah Caffey added 9 points and Beaumont and Kadlecova had 8 points apiece. Indiana under Teri Moren always plays a tough defense and they full court pressure you and the Hoosiers outscored the Miners 29-5 in the third quarter as the Hoosiers were rolling 76-24 after three quarters. The Hoosiers were 10-18 from the field for 55%, 6-10 from three-point range and 3-4 from the free throw line for 75% in the third quarter.
The Hoosiers closed it out with reserves playing the fourth quarter as Coach Moren took out four of the starters before the fourth quarter and Neveah Caffey played 1 minute. Indiana went on an 11-0 run midway through the fourth quarter as the Hoosiers outscored Miners 24-8 in the fourth quarter. Shay Ceizki led the Hoosiers with 21 points, Valentyna Kadlecova scored 13 points Lenee Beaumont and Freshman Maya Maklausky scored 11 points each., Freshman Neveah Caffey added 9 points. Scoka-Nuegmen and Phoenix Stotjin scored 8 points each. Edessa Noyan and Jerni Keaku scored 7 points each. Bedford Native and Alabama Transfer Chloe Spreen 3 points and Faith Wiseman added 2 points. The Hoosiers finished the game 36-69 from the field for 56%, 15-35 from three-point range for 43% and 13-19 from the free throw line for 68%. Indiana pulled down 50 rebounds, dished out 21 assists, 10 steals, 4 blocks and committed 11 turnovers. The Hoosiers scored 38 points in the paint and 38 points off the bench along with 34 points off turnovers.
Anna Gilbertson scored 10 points off the bench to lead the Miners and Ava McCulla pulled down 10 rebounds and added 7 points. West Lafayette HS Graduate Adrienne Tolen scored 7 points as a starter playing 18 minutes in her home state. Missouri S&T head coach Kira Carter is an Indianapolis native, and the Miners are in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and play the University of Indianapolis every season. The Miners finished the game 10-54 from the field for 18%, 0-13 from three-point range and 12-20 from the free throw line for 60%. 3 steals, 2 assists, 1 block and 27 turnovers committed. Missouri S&T had 18 points in the paint, 11 points off turnovers and 11 points off the bench.
The Hoosiers came out and looked like a team that will challenge in the Big Ten. They scored inside they hit outside and of course as all Teri Moren teams do they play defense and Freshman Neveah Caffey set the tone and rest of the team responded. “It was a good start for an Exhibition Game; we have a lot of work to do but we achieve our goals that we wanted to tonight” Indiana head coach Teri Moren said after the game. Teri Moren knows that there is a lot of good things that her team did that is still trying to figure out getting know each other and gel as a team “There is high ceiling for this group and gave them a bunch of goals and they achieved every one of them” Moren Said. Moren praised both Caffey and Makaulsky as Caffey gives the Hoosiers a presence of defense that they have not seen since Nicole Cardano-Hillary who was a defensive star for the Hoosiers. Makaulsky and Zocka-Neugmen both pulled down 9 rebounds apiece and Coach Moren says Makaulsky has not been rebound like that in practice and she expects both Freshman to make an impact this season.
Indiana beats Baylor 76-74 in the Indy Showdown Men’s Basketball Exhibition The Indiana Hoosiers took down the Baylor Bears 76-74 in the Indy Showdown Men’s Basketball Exhibition at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Sunday Afternoon. This was the second all -time meeting between the two programs and the first since Indiana beat Baylor 83-47 on December 13,1980 in Bloomington. This one will not count in the record books as both Indiana and Baylor will get ready for the Regular season as Indiana will host Alabama A&M on November 5, and Baylor will host UTRV on November 3, at 7 PM Central Time.
Both teams were off to a slow start as both teams missed their first two shots. Baylor missed their third shot of the game on a three-point shot and Tounde Yessoufu got the rebound and was fouled by Lamar Wilkerson and hit both free throws to put Baylor on the board 2-0 with 18:35 left in the first half. Reed Bailey scored for the Hoosiers with the slam dunk to get the Hoosiers on the board 2-2. The game went back and forth as Baylor led 14-13 before the Bears went on a 14-2 run to lead 28-15. Indiana battled back and cut the Baylor lead to 38-32 as Sam Alexis was fouled and went to the line to complete a three-point play. Cameron Carr hit a three pointer to make it 41-32 as Indiana scored the last four points as Baylor went to the locker room up 41-36 at halftime.
Lamar Wlikerson led the Hoosiers with 16 points at halftime. Indiana was 13-26 from the field for 46%, 2-10 from three-point range for 20% and 8-8 from the free throw line for 100%. The Hoosiers pulled down 11 rebounds, dished out 9 assists, 4 steals, 22 points in the paint and committed 9 turnovers. Cameron Carr led Baylor with 14 points 6-9 from the field as the Bears were 15-29 from the field 51%, 4-11 form three-point range for 36% and 7-9 from the free throw line for 77%. Baylor pulled down 19 rebounds, dished out 7 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals, 18 points in the paint and committed 9 turnovers in the first half.
Wilkerson opened the second half with a three to cut the Baylor lead to two points 41-39. Dan Skllings Jr scored for Baylor to push the lead back to four points 43-39. Reed Bailey scored inside to make it 43-41. Tayton Conerway drove the lane and slammed home to tie the game at 43-43 with 17:12 left in the second half and Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew saw enough to call a timeout. Out of the timeout Cameron Carr knocked down two free throws to make it 45-43. Lamar Wilkerson came down and drained a three pointer to give IU the lead 46-45. Conerway finished the fastbreak on the nice feed from Wilkerson to give the Hoosiers a 48-45 lead with 15:24 left in the second half. Issac Willams IV scored to cut the Hoosiers lead to 48-47.
Wilkerson kept attacking the basket and hit two free throws, increasing the Indiana lead to 50-47. Conerway found Sam Alexis off the baseline out of bounds play for a slam dunk as Indiana led 52-47. Tucker DeVries knocked home a three pointer as the Hoosiers led by eight 55-47 with 12:35 left in the second half. JJ White knocked down a free throw for the Bears to make it 55-48 and then he knocked down a three pointer to make it 55-51 as the Bears went on a run with Caden Powell sinking two free throws to make it 55-53 with 10:26 left in the second half. Indiana broke the Baylor run with Tayton Conerway hitting both free throws to make it 57-53. Great ball movement by the Hoosiers making the extra pass as DeVries found Conerway in the corner to knock down the three to make it 60-53 Hoosiers before Michael Rataj scored to make it 60-55. Indiana responded with a Tucker DeVries basket to make it 62-55 Indiana.
DeVries went to the line and knocked down two free throws to make it 64-55 as the Hoosiers were able to get defensive stops throughout the second half. Baylor’s Cameron Carr hit two free throws to make it 64-57. Tounde Yessoufou knocked down a three as Baylor cut the Indiana lead to four points 64-60 with 5:59 left in the second half. Dan Skllings Jr scored as Baylor trailed 64-62 before Sam Alexis responded for the Hoosiers to lead 66-62. Indiana was solid from the free throw line as Tayton Conerway knocked down to free throws as Indiana led 68-62 with 3:55 left in the second half. Lamar Wilkerson was called for his fifth foul with 3:51 left but remained in the game since it was an exhibition and there were no foul outs for this game. Yessoufou hit a free throw to make 68-63 and Skillings Jr hit a bucket to cut the Indiana lead 68-65.
Tayton Conerway picked up his fifth foul with 2:39 left as Dan Skllings Jr went to the line and knocked down two free throws to make 68-67 Indiana. Yessoufou drained a three pointer to put the Bears in the lead 70-68 just under two minutes left in the game. Conerway tied the game 70-70 hitting both free throws for the Hoosiers. Issac Williams IV picked up his fifth foul for Baylor with 1:29 left and Lamar Wilkerson nailed two free throws to put IU up 72-70 before Skillings Jr awnsered with a three pointer to make it 73-72 Baylor. Tucker DeVries scored on a baseline jumper to give the Hoosiers a 74-73 lead. Michael Rataj missed the first free throw and hit the second to make 74-74. Tayton Conerway drove the base line and scored with 8.4 seconds and missed the free throw as Indiana won 76-74 at the end of the game and both teams played a five-minute controlled scrimmage to get some of the younger players some playing time.
Lamar Wilkerson scored 26 points to lead Indiana, Tucker DeVries added 18 points, and Tayton Conerway added 17 points. The Hoosiers finished 25-57 from field 44%, 6-24 from three-point range for 25% and 20-21 form the free throw line for 95% in which Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew said after the game “He deserves a raise.” Indiana pulled down 25 rebounds, dished out 18 assists, 8 steals, 6 blocks and committed 9 turnovers. Baylor put four in double figures with Cameron Carr scoring 18 points, Dan Skllings Jr. added 13 points and Michael Rataj and Tounde Yessoufou added 12 points apiece. The Bears went 24-60 for 40% from the field, 8-24 from three point range from 33% and 18-24 from the free throw line for 75%. Baylor pulled down 44 rebounds, dished out 13 assists, 5 blocks, 3 steals and committed 16 turnovers.
The game featured 9 lead changes and 6 ties, and Indiana trailed by 13 with 8:53 in the first half and even when the Hoosiers were in Puerto Rico Indiana trailed in two of the three games and never panicked and bounced back to win all three of exhibitions games where they trailed and came back to win. Both these teams are brand new with a whole new look and playing in front of 4,507 fans was a good experience as both Indiana and Baylor keep working with their teams to prepare for the regular season. Indiana outscored Baylor 40-33 in the second half and most of the crowd were Hoosier Fans and they can go home happy knowing this team will continue to claw and scratch their way through the game and find ways to win.
Baylor won the 2021 NCAA Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium and stayed in the same hotel this weekend as they did for that tournament that was played in the Indianapolis area due to the COVID Pandemic. Drew said with a smile at the end of the press conference “Last time I wasn’t here your football team wasn’t that good” referring to the Hoosiers 8-0 football team and their number two ranking. Even basketball coaches from other programs are paying attention to the success of Indiana University Football.
Indiana University Volleyball Sweeps Northwestern It was business as usual on Sunday afternoon in Wilkinson Hall as the Indiana volleyball team (16-4, 7-3 B1G) picked up an efficient sweep of Northwestern to finish out the first half of conference play. IU recorded 44 kills on the afternoon behind a balanced offense to complete the 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 26-24) victory over Northwestern. The win over the Wildcats was the second win in a season sweep of the visitors from Evanston. IU won the first battle on the Big Ten’s opening night (Sept. 24) and closed out the season series behind 16 kills from senior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles. IU hit .361 (44-9-97) on the afternoon with just nine attacking errors. All three pin hitters provided at least nine kills in the winning effort.
IU’s offense looked more like the version that fans saw in the early portion of the campaign. Freshman setter Kričković recorded the fourth double-double of her career with 37 assists and 11 digs. She spread the wealth around as four hitters provided at least six kills. IU’s nine attacking errors are the fewest in a Big Ten match since Oct. 14, 2023, against Michigan (8). The Hoosiers put service pressure on Northwestern early and never relented. IU had seven aces, provided by five different players. IU’s defense added seven blocks and 37 digs while keeping the visitors’ middle blockers virtually silent. Northwestern freshman outside hitter Isabella Bullington kept Northwestern in the match with 18 kills.
Senior opposite Avry Tatum had one of the cleanest matches in her IU career. She hit .471 with nine kills and just one error. The one error came on a ball she tipped into the net following a tight set. She added a block and had three digs and two aces. On the season, the veteran is hitting .358 with 3.33 kills per set. Following Sunday’s win, IU is off to its best 10-game Big Ten start (7-3) in program history. The Hoosiers surpassed their win total from last season with 10 matches left to play in the regular season. They will head to College Park next Friday (Oct. 31) evening to play Maryland on B1G+. Next weekend will wrap up with a trip to take on the defending national champions, Penn State.
Indiana University Women’s Soccer Fall to Iowa in Regular Season Closer Indiana women’s soccer closed out the 2025 campaign with an 0-2 loss to Iowa on Sunday Afternoon. The Hoosiers Fall in their season finale as the Iowa offense shows to be too much for the Hoosiers in the second half. With the loss, Indiana finishes the season with an overall record of 5-6-6 and a 2-4-5 record in Big Ten play. It was a defensive battle on the pitch to start the match, as both teams combined for a total of five shots throughout the first half. Graduate midfielder Jenna Chatterton and junior defender Mary Kate Sullivan both added shots for the cream and crimson. Senior goalkeeper Dani Jacobson was able to save two shot attempts by the Hawkeyes to keep the score tied at zero heading into the second half. Iowa found momentum after the break, adding two goals in the 73rd and 85th minutes. The Hoosiers were unable to find their offense, resulting in a 2-0 defeat. Five Hoosiers recorded a shot: Paige Droner, Haden Vlcek, Maggie Ledwith, Jenna Chatterton, Mary Kate Sullivan. Jacobson recorded four saves. Indiana forced 13 Iowa fouls.
The Indiana Pacers are Signing NBA Slam Dunk Champion Mac McClung A three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion is coming to Indiana. Multiple reports from Monday afternoon confirm that guard Mac McClung has signed a multi-year contract. ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report the news. In order to sign McClung, the Pacers have waived former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman to create roster space. This comes after Indiana suffered many injuries at the guard position to start the season. The NBA’s first three-peat slam dunk contest champion, the 26-year-old McClung will reportedly sign a non-guaranteed multi-year deal with the Pacers. The guard, who last spent time with the Orlando Magic, has officially played six NBA games and was the 2023-24 G-League MVP.
Known for his high-flying aerial finishes, McClung has never signed a standard NBA contract before. He has spent time in training camps and on two-way deals since coming onto the scene in 2021. Indiana is currently dealing with injuries to several key players in the backcourt, including Tyrese Haliburton, T.J. McConnell, Bennedict Mathurin and Andrew Nembhard. Last game, the Pacers started typical 2-guard Ben Sheppard at point guard and two centers to help fill out the lineup.
Taylor University Women’s Basketball’s Celina Blount Named CL Defensive Player of the Week Taylor University’s Celina Blount has been named the Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week, as the league headquarters announced its first weekly honors of the 2025-2026 season on Monday. Blount impressed in her Trojan debut and nearly pulled off a triple-double in TU’s 90-71 win at Holy Cross. The sophomore forward ended the night with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots, while also dishing four assists. The Trojans (1-0) tip off a pair of exhibition games against NCAA Division I opponents tonight (at Cincinnati) and tomorrow (at Butler), before hosting IU South Bend inside Odle Arena on Saturday night.
