Indiana is averaging 81.2 points, 17.6 assists and 10.3 turnovers per game. The Hoosiers shoot 46% from the field, 35% from three-point range and 78% form the free throw line.

Lamar Wilkerson was the only Hoosier in Double Figures Tuesday Night with 33 points. Conerway missed the Purdue and UCLA games with ankle injury and came off the bench on Tuesday to score 7 points in 10 minutes of action against USC.

Nick Dorn scored 6 points and fouled out against USC. The Junior from Charlotte North Carolina has started the last four games replacing Conerway and scored 81 points in the four games leading up to Tuesday Night’s game and providing the Hoosiers a spark in those contests. Conor Enright leads the Hoosiers with 4.6 assists per game he has dished out 105 assists, 28 turnovers and 17 steals. Sam Alexis leads the Hoosiers with 26 blocked shots for 1.1 per game average.

The Badgers shoot 45% from the field, 34% from three-point range and 77% form the free throw line. Nick Boyd leads Wisconsin in scoring at 20 points along with 3.5 assists per game. Boyd played three seasons at Florida Atlantic from 2021-24 and helped the Owls to the 2023 Final Four playing for Dusty May who is the now the Head Coach at Michigan. Boyd scored 12 points in 23 minutes in a 72-71 loss to San Diego State in the National Semifinal.

After that loss Boyd transferred to San Diego State for the 2024-25 season and then came to Madison for his final season looking to lead the Badgers to the NCAA Tournament and for Boyd it would be his fourth straight NCAA tournament after Florida Atlantic did not make the postseason in his freshman season in 2022.   John Blackwell averages 18.5 points and leads Wisconsin with 1.3 steals per game. Nolan Winter averages 13.8 points and leads the Badgers with 8.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. Indiana leads the all-time series 99-81 and are 58-31 against the Badgers in Bloomington. Indiana beat Wisconsin 74-70 in the last meeting in Bloomington on February 27th, 2024, as the Hoosiers have won two straight over Wisconsin in Bloomington. Wisconsin is 7-3 against the Hoosiers in the last ten matchups and Wisconsin has owned the Hoosiers in Madison winning every matchup at the Kohl Center in 1998.  Wisconsin under Dick Bennett, Bo Ryan and Greg Gard love to slow it down and milk the shot clock and grind out games. Now under Gard the Badgers love to push the tempo and make you slow them down on offense. Wisconsin is always a team who shoots the ball well, gets to the free throw line and rebounds well and plays tough defense. Indiana will have to shoot the ball well and not let Winter attack the glass along with Blackwell and Boyd getting to the basket. Indiana will have the crowd on their side, and the early start time will play a role in who can get out of the gate fast.

Former Purdue University Quarterback Drew Brees Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Former Purdue quarterback Drew Brees will join the all-time greats in Canton, as he has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Drew Brees played 20 years in the NFL, with 15 of them with the New Orleans Saints. Brees led the NFL in passing yards seven times and threw for 80,358 yards in his career. He also threw 571 touchdowns. He helped lead the Saints to a win in Super Bowl XLIV and was named the Super Bowl XLIV MVP.

“I’d say the first bit of reality was obviously the knock that came a few weeks ago, and then from there, it’s just been a lot of reflection,” Brees said. “Honestly, the last couple hours have been incredible, because it’s our first opportunity to all see each other in the same room and talk about those knocks, talk about some of the reflections, talk about a lot of our competition together, and maybe just get a glimpse of what the next seven months are going to look like together and the fact that this will be memorialized forever. What an elite club that we’re part of. What a respect and a reverence that we have for this game and the opportunity to have played this game. It was an absolute privilege, and still pretty surreal though, I would say.”

Brees will be enshrined with Adam Vinatieri, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, and Luke Kuechly in the Class of 2026. Brees was a 13-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. Brees was also the AP Offensive Player of the Year twice in his career. Brees was a standout player with the Boilermakers, leading the Big Ten in passing yards in three straight years. He threw for 10,909 yards in his career at Purdue, along with 81 touchdowns. He won the Maxwell Award in his senior season. Brees helped lead Purdue to the Rose Bowl in the 2000 season.

Former Indianapolis Colts Kicker Adam Vinatieri Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Indianapolis Colts legend and former kicker Adam Vinatieri has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Vinatieri received the election in his second year as a finalist. Vinatieri won Super Bowl XLI with the Colts and was in Indianapolis for 14 seasons. “I still can’t believe it at times,” Vinatieri said. “The knock on the door was amazing, and then every day since then I’m just trying to soak it in a little bit more. You just think back to 24 seasons and it’s a wonderful, wonderful day.” Vinatieri took a moment to reflect on all the moments that led to him receiving the honor of being elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“It really goes back to upbringing and my parents and siblings,” Vinatieri said. “Growing up in South Dakota, small little place where nobody thinks about football too much and just being surrounded by a loving family and helping me achieve my goals and going on and playing college ball, and playing a season in Europe, and then getting to be able to play 24 years. There’s been so many people along the way that were instrumental in my life, starting with my family, my wife and my kids and all the coaches and teammates. There’s just so many people to thank along the way. I can’t wait to start making phone calls and letting people know. Now that they know, now I can actually say thank you to all the people that were so instrumental in my life and just helping me get to where I was at.”

Vinatieri will join a number of his Colts teammates in Canton, like Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, and Marvin Harrison.“I get goosebumps even thinking about it,” Vinatieri said. “I’m excited to bring all those guys back too and celebrate together and it will be a great time.” Vinatieri is the Colts franchise leader in field goals made, extra points made, and points. He was a four-time Super Bowl winner, winning his other three with the Patriots. He’s the NFL’s all-time leader in field goals made, with 599, and the all-time leader in points with 2,673. He’s also the NFL’s all-time leader in field goals attempted, with 715. He played a whopping 24 seasons in the NFL. Vinatieri was a three-time All-Pro and a three-time Pro Bowler. Vinatieri made two game winning kicks in the Super Bowl. He made a 48-yard field goal in Super Bowl XXXVI with no time left on the clock to give the Patriots the victory against the Rams. He also made a 41-yard field goal in Super Bowl XXXVIII with four seconds left on the clock to give the Patriots the win against the Panthers. Vinatieri will be enshrined with Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, and Luke Kuechly in the Class of 2026.

Indiana Pacers Acquire Center Ivica Zubac in a Trade with the Los Angeles Clippers With speculation growing over the last several weeks leading up to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, the Pacers finally pulled the trigger by trading Bennedict Mathurin to the Los Angeles Clippers with less than an hour ahead of the 3 p.m. deadline. Mathurin will head west along with Isaiah Jackson and two draft picks. The headliner coming back to the blue and gold is center Ivica Zubac. The Pacers are also adding forward Kobe Brown in the deal. Here’s what the deal looks like on paper: the Pacers will trade Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, the team’s first-round pick this season, which is protected, along with a 2029 first-round pick and one second-round pick for Zubac and forward Kobe Brown.

The 2026 pick from the Pacers is protected 1-4 and 10-30, meaning if the Pacers draft pick falls in the 5-9 range the Clippers get the pick, if not the pick turns into a 2031 draft pick. Zubac is one year removed from averaging a career high of 16 points and 12 rebounds per game. He finished sixth in Defensive Player of the Year voting. He is signed through the 2027-2028 season. Head coach Rick Carlisle called today a win for both franchises. He reflected on Mathurin and Jackson’s time in Indianapolis. “They both developed as young men, they both developed as players, and it’s emotional when you get to a situation like this,” Carlisle said. “But, this is a deal that will be great for both teams.”

Carlisle also broke down what Zubac adds to the team. “Zubac is a guy that is a tremendous center. He’s a top 10 center in the NBA. We have a great need. He brings things to the center position that we haven’t had in my tenure here. He’s really one of the most prominent physical centers in the league. We obviously feel the fit is good with Tyrese, Pascal, and our other veteran guys. Know that he will be very warmly embraced.” Zubac has averaged 14.4 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. He has played in 43 games, starting in 42 of them. Brown has played in 34 games this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
