Indiana Extends Its Winning Streak to Three Games with a 15 Point Victory over Purdue The Indiana Hoosiers beat the Purdue Boilermakers 74-59 Sunday Afternoon in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall as the Hoosiers have won three in a row and Purdue has lost four in a row after Purdue beat Indiana in West Lafayette 80-69 on January 25. Head Coach Teri Moren was happy that her team was able to split the season series and their response after they struggled in the first meeting. “We let that one get away in West Lafayette for a lot of reasons from the Beginning, we had a great opportunity to right our wrongs and I liked our focus.” Head Coach Teri Moren said after the game. Moren has been on both sides of this rivalry as a player at Purdue and the Head Coach at Indiana and knows from experience that you do not want to be on the losing side of it. “I have the upmost respect for Katie Geralds and her staff and some rivalries can get really ugly but there is a mutual respect there that we try to keep inside the lines but being in the State of Indiana this Indiana-Purdue rivalry means everything to our fans and it’s better to be on the winning side of it” Moren said.

Indiana is 14-11 overall and 3-10 in the Big Ten and heads to Los Angeles for its two game West Coast Trip against USC on Thursday and UCLA on Sunday. The Hoosiers have won 9 of their 14 games by double digits this season. Purdue drops to 11-13 on the season and 3-10 in the Big Ten. Purdue leads the all-time series 54-45. The Hoosiers are 25-21 all time against the Boilermakers in Bloomington, including the last 13 meetings at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall dating back to 2013. The Hoosiers have dominated this rivalry winning 14 of the last 15 meetings since 2019. Shay Ciezki led the Hoosiers with 29 points and 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season and her career. Ciezki had 13 points and 10 rebounds against Marshall on November 11, 2025. Ciezki went 10-19 from the field, 3-8 from three-point range and 6-6 from the free throw line. Edessa Noyan scored 12 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double her career and third career game with double figure rebounds.

Noyan had 10 rebounds against High Point in the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament her Freshman Season at Virginia and she pulled down 11 rebounds earlier this season against Western Michigan. “I love our crowd and all the support from the fans and from IU Athletics” Edessa Noyan said after the game. The Hoosiers went 29-51 from the field for 49%, 5-13 for 38% and 19-24 from free throw line for 79%. The Hoosiers pulled down 47 rebounds, dished out 18 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks and 17 turnovers. Purdue outscored Indiana 24-21 in the third quarter as the Hoosiers led by ten points, 54-44 going into the fourth quarter. Indiana outscored Purdue 20-15 in the fourth quarter as the game was tied one and there were no lead changes.

For Shay Ciezki she has played against Purdue for four years but since she joined the Hoosiers two years ago this rivalry means a lot now than it did when she played at Penn State. “You learn once you get here about the importance of this rivalry and I am happy for our Coaches especially Coach Moren and it feels better than the last one” Ciezki Said after the game. Indiana has a tough two game trip out west against USC and UCLA but with five games left before the Big Ten Tournament the Hoosiers have more chances to get some wins and look toward the postseason which looks much brighter than a week a half ago.

Brown replaces the departed Derek Owings, who left for Tennessee. Here is the full release from Indiana on Brown resume:

Indiana head football coach Curt Cignetti announced Tyson Brown as the program’s director of athletic performance on Friday. Brown comes to Bloomington after two seasons at UConn that featured back-to-back appearances in the Fenway Bowl and program-best 18 wins over the 2024 and 2025 seasons. During his time in Storrs, Brown helped UConn reach back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 2009-10.

He led the Mississippi State football strength and conditioning program for four seasons (2020-24) which netted three-straight bowl appearances from 2020-22 under head coaches Mike Leach (2020-21) and Zach Arnett (2022). The Bulldogs were 2-1 in those games and won nine games in Leach’s second season – its most since 10 winds during the 2014 season. He spent six seasons at Washington State with two as the head of the strength and conditioning program (2018-19) and four as an assistant (2014-17) for Jason Loscalzo. In his time with Leach, Brown helped the Cougars to five straight bowl appearances, 46 wins and four top-3 finishes in the Pac-12 North.

Between 2017 and 2018, Brown was hired by Cignetti at Elon, but Loscalzo left for the NFL, opening the door for Brown to remain in Pullman and lead the Cougars’ strength and conditioning efforts. Brown spent one year as associate director of strength and conditioning at USF (2013) and two seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Washington (2010-11). He spent one year each as an intern/graduate assistant with the NFL’s Houston Texas (2010), Baylor (2009) and his alma mater, Sioux Falls (2008). A native of Bothell, Washington, Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Sioux Falls where helped the Cougars to the 2006 (player) and 2008 (strength coach) NAIA National Championships. Brown also holds a master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Roberts played at Purdue from 1992-96 and was a key piece to the Boilermakers winning three straight Big Ten championships from 1994 through 1996.
