No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Soccer Resume Big Ten Play at Rutgers Coming off consecutive victories to complete a second consecutive unbeaten non-conference season, unbeaten, No. 2-ranked Indiana men’s soccer kicks off the back half of Big Ten play at Rutgers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Fans unable to attend the match can watch via the B1G+ digital platform.  With five games to play, the Hoosiers control their destiny in terms of the conference regular season title. Tied for first with 13 points, the Hoosiers have a game in hand on co-leaders Washington and Michigan State.  The final stretch begins with consecutive road matches, at Rutgers this evening and at Ohio State on Tuesday. With nine points in the league table, the Scarlet Knights have a lot to play for when they host the Hoosiers.

Indiana forward Oliver Moller-Jensen is the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week coming off a match week in which he totaled three goals and two assists over two matches. Moller-Jensen surpassed the 50-career points milestone, one of two Hoosiers on this roster to have unlocked that achievement … so far. Teammates Stephane Njike and Collins Oduro are within two and three points, respectively, of reaching that mark.  Njike has led the way in conference play, with a team-leading eight points (three goals, two assists) in Big Ten games.

Rutgers is on a two-game losing skid, both results coming against ranked opponents: a 2-1 loss to No. 7 Maryland on October 6 before a 1-0 defeat at No. 20 Wisconsin last Saturday. The Scarlet Knights have a 3-4-0 record against ranked opponents.  In Big Ten play alone, Rutgers midfielder Amer Lukovic ranks tied-for-second in points (8) and goals (3).   Head coach Jim McElderry leads Rutgers in his eighth season, carrying a 54-52-21 record during his time in Piscataway and a 127-125-47 career head coaching mark.

Indiana has won 14 of 21 meetings with Rutgers, including nine of 15 since the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten Conference.  Indiana has won three consecutive meetings, outscoring Rutgers 10-1 in that stretch.  The last time IU visited Piscataway, in 2024, Indiana came away with three points thanks to Tommy Mihalic’s 87th-minute winner.  In 2023, Indiana clinched a share of the Big Ten league title with a 4-1 victory against the Scarlet Knights on the final day of the regular season. Then-freshman Collins Oduro scored the winning goal that day.  Last season, Indiana closed its regular season with an emphatic 5-0 win over Rutgers. Current IU players Jacopo Fedrizzi, Charlie Heuer, Breckin Minzey and Clay Murador all recorded goal contributions in the match.

Indiana University Women’s Volleyball Travels to the Pacific Northwest to Face Oregon and Washington   A chance for some resume-boosting wins is on the docket this weekend as the Indiana volleyball team (10-5, 3-3 Big Ten) heads on its annual west coast road swing. The Hoosiers will make the trip to the Pacific Northwest for the second time since the Big Ten expanded in 2024. IU lost both matches in the maiden journey there to open conference play two season ago. Following a pair of losses to No. 1 Nebraska and (RV) USC at Wilkinson Hall, IU will be hungry to get back in the win column this weekend. These are the sixth and seventh ranked opponents that the Hoosiers will play this year.

Third-year outside hitter Izzy Clark made her season debut on Sunday afternoon as IU gets closer to its projected starting rotation. Defense will have to be strong this weekend out west. When IU holds opponents under a .275 hitting percentage this year, it is 10-1. If opposition goes above that mark, IU is 0-4 on the campaign. The Hoosiers have upped production in the block department with 2.38 per set (50.0 total) in conference action this year. Third-year middle blocker Ella Boersema has had another breakout season offensively and will hope to respond from a tough contest against USC. She’s averaging 2.69 kills per set while hitting .356 on the season. Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager (3.76 kills per set) and fifth-year opposite hitter Avry Tatum (2.83 kills per set) lead the charge from the pins. Both of this weekend’s games will be broadcasted on B1G+.

Tonight’s game at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene is set for a 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT first serve. The Hoosiers will pivot to Seattle on Sunday (Oct. 18) for a 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT first serve at Alaska Airlines Arena. A Win over Oregon would Be the highest-ranked win of the year, highest overall since 2022 and would be the seventh ranked road win of Steve Aird’s tenure as head coach. A Win over Washington would be the 41st overall ranked win in program history
and would be the seventh top-20 Big Ten road win in program history, first since 2022. A win over both would be back-to-back ranked wins for the second time in program history and would Have Steve Aird match the program record most ranked wins as Indiana head coach.

These will be the sixth and seventh AVCA ranked opponents on the docket this season. IU swept its west coast road trip last year against No. 17 USC (W, 3-1) and No. 24 UCLA (W, 3-1). The Hoosiers are playing seven of 10 games in the month of October on the road. Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic is closing in on becoming the 12th player in program history to reach 2,000 career assists. She’s 215 away as she continues to set the Hoosiers at an elite offensive rate. The Serbian is averaging 10.69 assists per set in her career at IU. Since the 2022 campaign (four-plus years), Indiana has racked up 87 wins under head coach Steve Aird. That includes at least 15 wins in each full season during that stretch. IU will be looking to reach that plateau again for the fifth-straight year in 2026.

Since 2022, no Big Ten programs have had more service aces than IU (887) and Oregon (885). Those two teams will go to the test on Friday evening, each possessing more than 90 service aces on the campaign. five different players have double-digit aces for the Hoosiers this year. Each team this weekend will have a Serbian competitor on their roster. Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic played with Washington outside hitter Simona Mateska on this summer’s silver medal team at the CEV U22 European Championships. Oregon’s middle blocker Iva Šucurovic also hails from Serbia.

After a win at Penn State last year, there are now just three Big Ten schools that IU has never won at in program history. IU can check off two of those boxes this weekend at Oregon and Washington. The Hoosiers lost both matches on conference-opening weekend in 2024 in the Pacific Northwest. Fifth-year middle blocker Kiki Granberry has been IU’s best blocker this season at 1.23 blocks per set. In her outstanding college career, she has recorded 372 career blocks. She is closing in on 400 in her fifth year and is top 20 among active NCAA players in the category.

Head coach Steve Aird and the Hoosiers will get a crack at two more ranked opponents this weekend. He has guided the program to 10 wins against AVCA opponents. If he is able to help win both games this weekend, he will match the program record for ranked wins (12) by a head coach. Third-year outside hitter Izzy Clark made her season debut on Sunday afternoon after missing the first 14 games through injury. She recorded a kill on her first swing of the year. IU will now hope to get her back into the rotation as another potential offensive piece comes into play.

Oregon (14-2, 5-1 Big Ten)- After a surprise resurgence last year, Oregon has been one of the best teams in the country this year. The Ducks sit just outside the top 10 of the AVCA poll and are coming off a pair of wins at Michigan State and Michigan. Oregon has two losses, both road defeats at Arizona State and Wisconsin A balanced offensive effort has been a catalyst for Oregon this year. Outside hitter Sjakkie Donkers (3.74 kills per set), outside hitter Valentina Vaulet (3.26 kills per set) and opposite hitter Alanah Clemente (3.24 kills per set) are providing over 10 kills per set. Setter Marina Crownover has 10.23 assists per set. Oregon has been one of the best serving teams over the past few years. Vaulet has 26 aces on the season. She’s one of five Ducks with double-digit aces. Middle blocker Iva Šucurovic is providing 0.96 blocks per set (55.0 total). Fellow middle Dalia Virlan is right behind her at 0.83. These two teams played for the first time when Oregon joined the league in 2024. IU was a part of Oregon’s opening weekend in the Big Ten in Eugene where the Ducks won a four-set contest. Both matches between the programs have gone four sets with the home team winning each one.

Washington (13-2, 4-2 Big Ten)-Another team with a balanced offensive attack, Washington has enjoyed a nice bounce back season under head coach Leslie Gabriel. Washington picked up a sweep of Purdue two weeks ago and have just two losses on the year. This is the fourth-straight year these teams will play. Outside hitter Simona Mateska is hitting .301 on the season with 3.46 kills per set. Outside hitter Kylie Kleckner (152), opposite hitter Maija Howse (139) and middle blocker Julia Hunt (107) all have over 100 kills this season as well. Transfer setter Andrea Fabikovicová runs the offense to a team hitting percentage of .257. Defense has been the name of the game for the Huskies this year. They are allowing opposing offenses to hit just .150 on the season. There hasn’t been a team this year to hit over .300 against Washington. On the other side, Washington has hit above .300 on just three occasions this year. Washington
