Gabe Cupps commits to Indiana Men’s Basketball for 2023
Indiana Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Woodson has landed his second commitment for the class of 2023 when Gabe Cupps verbally committed to Indiana. Cupps is 6-2-point guard from Centerville HS in Centerville Ohio and joins 6-4 combo guard Jakai Netwon from Covington Georgia as the two members of the 2023 recruiting class.

Cupps chose Indiana over Ohio State and Stanford and had offers from Michigan, Kansas State, Virginia Tech and Xavier. Cupps plays for his father Brooks at Centerville HS and as Sophomore averaged 15.2 points per game, shot 35 percent from the three-point line (37-105), 82 percent from the free throw line (95-116) and had a 5-1 assist to turnover ratio while leading Centerville to the state championship.

Woodson has signed three players for the class of 2022 and brought in 3 transfers and 1 freshman for this current season after he took over the program in March. Cupps cannot sign a national letter of intent until his senior season.

Indiana Women’s Basketball signs Henna Sandivk
Indiana women’s basketball has announced the signing of Henna Sandvik for the class of 2026. A 6-foot guard out from Helsinki, Finland joins Lexus Bargesser (Grass Lake, Mich.) and Lilly Meister (Rochester, Minn.) to the Hoosiers’ freshman class for next season. Sandvik plays for the Finland Senior National team, where started she both games last week in the 2023 Eurobasket Qualifier. Sandvik scored 7 points and had 3 rebounds against Ukraine. With her club team, HBA Marsky, she is currently averaging 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. In addition, at the 2019 U16 European Championships, she averaged 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Indiana has 4 international players on the 2021-22 roster which include Nicole Cardano-Hillary from Spain, Aleska Glube from Latvia, Mona Zaric from Serbia and Kiandra Browne from Canada.  

Indiana-Purdue Football Game to Be Televised on Fox Sports 1
The Old Oaken Bucket will be on the line as the Indiana football program will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1 at Purdue on Saturday, November 27 at Ross-Ade Stadium. Indiana (2-8, 0-7 B1G) and Purdue (6-4, 4-3 B1G) will meet for the 123rd time in program history and the 96th time in the trophy’s history. The symbol of football supremacy between Indiana and Purdue, the Old Oaken Bucket, has become one of the nation’s most recognized and famed trophies, as the Hoosiers have claimed five of the last seven meetings. The game was canceled last year due to COVID-19 concerns within both programs and was the first time since 1919 that two teams did not play each other. Indiana’s Men’s Basketball team will host Marshall that evening at 7pm at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall with the game televised on the Big Ten Network.  

Indiana Track & Field announces 2021-22 Track and Field schedule
Indiana Track & Field announced its 2021-22 indoor and outdoor track & field schedule on Wednesday morning. It includes seven indoor meets and seven outdoor meets. The Hoosiers will open the season with the annual Hoosier Open on Friday, December 10. They will then return to the oval on Saturday, January 15 for the Simmons Harvey Big Ten Invitational hosted by Michigan.

Indiana then spends the next two weekends at home by hosting the Gladstein Invitational (January 21-22) and IU Relays (January 28 & 29). The Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame will be due up next and is scheduled for Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5th. Hoosier Hills serves as the final home meet for the Hoosiers and will take place on Friday February before they close out the regular season at Notre Dame for Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, February 19th.

The indoor postseason begins with the Big Ten Championships on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26. This season’s conference meet will be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Birmingham, Ala. will once again be playing host to the NCAA Indoor National Championships. The meet is slated for Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12th. Switching to the outdoor schedule, Indiana opens the season at the Stanford Invitational and the Florida Relays on Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd. They will remain on the road for the next two weekends with the Tennessee Relays (April 8-9th), and Louisville Invitational (April 16th).

The Hoosiers host the Indiana Invitational on Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd before making its return to the historical Penn Relays in Philadelphia April 28-30. The Billy Hayes Invitationals will round out the regular season on Friday, May 6 in Bloomington. Switching to the postseason, Minnesota will host the Big Ten Championships May 13-15th. For the first time since 2011 Indiana will host the NCAA East Preliminaries. The meet has moved to a four-day format which will commence on Wednesday, May 25 and end on Saturday, May 28th. The NCAA National Championships will once again be held in Eugene, Ore. at Hayward Field. They have also switched to a four-day format and will be held June 8-11th.
