Indiana Men’s Basketball Dominates Louisiana 76-44
Indiana Men’s Basketball is 4-0 on the season after 76-44 domination of the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Sunday night inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Indiana led start to finish leading 37-14 at halftime and led the Ragin Cajuns to 19 percent shooting from the field 10 percent from the 3-point line and 58 percent from the free throw line. It was the lowest shooting percentage the Hoosiers have held an opponent to since 1996. It was the fewest points an opponent has scored since 2004 when Southern Illinois Edwardsville scored 13. Louisiana was 14-73 from the field 2-20 from three-point range and 14-24 from the field. Jordan Brown scored 10 points and Theo Akwuba pulled down 10 rebounds. Louisiana pulled down 37 rebounds, 5 assists, 12 turnovers, 2 blocks, and 10 steals. The Ragin Cajuns fall to 3-1 on the season.
Parker Stewart led the way for the Hoosiers with 16 Points, Stewart was 4-5 from three-point range and 6-7 from the field. Trayce Jackson Davis scored 11 points, pulled down 2 rebounds and blocked 2 shots. Freshman Tamar Bates scored 10 points off the bench and hit two three pointers. Walk-on Nathan Childress from Zionsville hit a three pointer and had 4 rebounds in the final minutes of the game. The Hoosiers were without Trey Galloway, Logan Duncomb and Rob Phinesse who were in street clothes and unavailable.
Indiana was 28-52 from the field for 53 percent, 10-19 from three-point range for 52 percent and 10-13 from the foul line for 76 percent. Those numbers are pleasing to Hoosier fans along with the defensive effort that the Hoosiers displayed throughout the entire game. Indiana pulled down 47 rebounds, 22 assists, 8 blocks and 5 steals.
One thing Coach Mike Woodson will want to fix before Tomorrow night’s game with Jackson State is the 27 turnovers the Hoosiers committed in this game. Jackson State will come in 0-4 after losing at Marshall Sunday 80-66. Game time is 7 pm Tomorrow night and will be on the Big Ten Network.
4th Ranked Indiana Women’s Basketball Survives Road Test at Quinnipiac
4th ranked Indiana Women’s Basketball held off a very tough Quinnipiac Bobcats team 67-59 on the road in the Bobcats home opener in Hamden Connecticut Saturday Afternoon. The Bobcats did not back down from the Hoosiers leading 16-10 after the first quarter. Quinnipiac led by 13 points 27-14 with 5:17 to go before halftime and 33-27 at half and led by 13 points. Indiana was trailing 43-42 with 1:05 to go in the 3rd quarter when the Hoosiers got the lead and never trailed the rest of the game. The Hoosiers led by as many as 10 points late in the 4th quarter.
Indiana was led in scoring by Grace Berger with 17 Points, Ali Patberg added 12 Points, Nicole Cardano-Hillary and Mackenzie Holmes add 10 points apiece. Holmes was playing her first game in New England since arriving at Indiana 3 years ago, The Gorham Maine native had several busloads of family and friends make the trip down from Maine to Connecticut to see her play and pulled 6 rebounds along with a block.
Aleska Gulbe scored 8 points, Kiandra Browne added 6, Chloe Moore-McNeil added 4 points and Grace Waggoner did not score in a minute of action. The Hoosiers were 12-13 from the free throw line for 92.3 percent, 26-57 from the field for 45.6 percent, and 3-8 from downtown for 37.5 percent. The Hoosiers pulled down 32 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 17 turnovers.
Quinnipiac 2-2 was led in scoring by Mackenize Dewees with 15 Points, Mikala Morris added 13, Rose Caverly added 11 and Cur’Tiera Haywood added 10 rebounds. The Bobcats were 9-10 from the free throw line for 90 percent, 22-57 from the field for 38 percent and 6-16 from downtown for 37 percent. The Bobcats pulled down 29 rebounds, 8 assists,4 steals, 4 blocks and 11 turnovers.
Indiana is 4-0 and will head to Nassau the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Pink Flamengo Classic for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Indiana will face defending national champion Stanford at 1:30pm Thanksgiving Day and Miami Florida at 8:30pm on Saturday.
Indiana Men’s Soccer Beats Bowling Green 2-0 in NCAA Tournament Second Round
15th Seed Indiana Men’s Soccer beat Bowling Green 2-0 in the NCAA Tournament Second Round on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium Sunday Afternoon. The game was delayed 2 hours after overnight rain caused the field conditions to be unplayable for original noon start time pushing it back to 2 pm.
The Hoosiers scored at 46:52 mark when Victor Bazerra scored of his right foot at the bottom left of the goal to make 1-0. Indiana added the second goal at the 60:38 mark when Spencer Glass scored of his left foot at the bottom right of the goal with the assist going to Hebert Endeley. Roman Celentano had his 11th shoutout of the season in 21 games with 3 saves against the Falcons. The Hoosiers had 6 shots, 2 shots on goal and 7 corner kicks.
Bowling Green ends the season at 11-6-3 had 12 shots, 3 shots on goal, 0 saves and 3 corner kicks. Indiana leads the all-time series with Bowling Green 16-3-1 and this was the first meeting in the series since 1997. Indiana has won the last 4 in the series. Number 15 seed Indiana is 15-5-1 and will play at Number 2 Seed Washington next weekend in the 3rd round of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament. Washington beat Portland 3-1 Sunday Evening to Host the Hoosiers in Seattle.
Indiana Football Falls in Home Finale to Minnesota
The woes continue for the Indiana Hoosiers football team falling to Minnesota 35-14 in the 2021 home finale at Memorial Stadium Saturday Afternoon. Indiana falls to 2-9 and 0-8 in the Big Ten while Minnesota improves to 7-4 and 5-3 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have lost 7 straight and have one more game to right the ship and the season on the right note. “Not Good Enough” Coach Tom Allen Said in Post-Game Press Conference.

Indiana got off to a good start with the defense stopping the Golden Gophers on a 16 play 67-yard drive in the red zone stopping the run at Indiana 8-yard line. Quarterback Donaven McCulley got his 4th career start scored on a 11-yard touchdown run with 17 seconds left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. The Gophers controlled the game as Ky Thomas scored 2 touchdowns, Tanner Morgan found Chris Autman-Bell on 2 touchdown passes and Mar’Keise Irving capped off the scoring for the Golden Gophers on a 3-yard run with 3:41 left in the game. Indiana scored on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Grant Gremel to Malachi Holt Bennett for the first touchdown reception by a wide receiver this season in FBS Play with 22 seconds left in the game which the Hoosiers were the final team in the Football Bowl Subdivision to achieve that feat this season with the Hoosiers scoring a touchdown against Idaho on September 11th which is Football Championship Subdivision Team.
Indiana starting quarterback Donaven McCulley was 3-7 for 17 yards and 2 interceptions, McCulley was the teams leading rusher with 16 Carries for 72 yards and a touchdown. Grant Gremel 5-12 60 yards and pass. For the game the Indiana quarterbacks were 8-19 for 77 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Indiana carried the ball 33 times for 141 yards with 1 touchdown. Trent Howland had 1 carry for 2 yards and was the first scholarship running back to carry the ball for the Hoosiers in the game. AJ Barner 3 receptions 31 yards as top wide receiver and was one of six receivers to catch a pass in this game. Ty Fryfogle was held to 1 reception to negative 3 yards.
Minnesota Quarterback Tanner Morgan was 14-20 for 196 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Ky Thomas had 26 carries for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mar’Keise Irving had 14 carries for 70 Yards and a touchdown. Minnesota ran the ball 48 times for 195 yards. Chris Autman-Bell had 4 receptions for 44 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Golden Gophers had six receptions catch the ball for balanced offensive attacks with 391 yards of total offense.
Indiana will close out the season next Saturday at 3:30pm they travel to West Lafayette Indiana to take on the Purdue Boilermakers in the Old Oaken Bucket Game and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. The Teams did not meet a season ago due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Hoosiers and the Boilermakers always have one goal in mind that is win the Bucket game and get the bragging rights for the next season. “Whatever we have to do to beat Purdue its biggest and most important game of the season” Allen Said.
