Indiana University Women’s Basketball game with Illinois postponed
Indiana Women’s Basketball scheduled game with Illinois for this Thursday Night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Illinois Program. It’s the third straight game has been postponed for the Hoosiers after a Home Game with Michigan State and road game with Iowa were postponed last week because of COVID-19 protocols within the Hoosiers’ program. Indiana had a road game with Rutgers postponed in December because of issues within the Scarlet Knights program. Indiana and Illinois announced that the scheduled game at Illinois has been moved from Thursday February 10th to Wednesday February 9th at 8pm. Indiana is scheduled to play at Michigan Next Monday Night. The Hoosiers have not played since January 16th when they won at Purdue 73-68 in overtime.

Bloomington North hosts Edgewood in girls’ basketball
It is the final week of the regular season for Girls High School Basketball as Edgewood travels to Bloomington North tonight at 7:30 PM. Edgewood is 16-4 and has not played since January 10th when they beat Monrovia at home 63-30. The Mustangs are coming off their second COVID Pause of the season. The first came in mid-November. Edgewood is 16-4 on the season and averages 47.2 points per game and gives up 32.6. Bloomington North is 9-11 on the season and has lost two in a row. The Cougars average 46.2 points and give up 48.2 on defense.

Bloomington South Hosts Indianapolis Home School in the Panthers final regular season game. Bloomington South is 5-17 on the season and it will be the first time since the 2016-17 season the Panthers will have a losing record. Bloomington South was 10-12 that season. The Panthers average 39 points on offense and give up 48.3 on defense.

Lighthouse Christian’s game at Providence Cristo Rey Monday Night was canceled due the Lions not having enough healthy players. Lighthouse Christian only has 7 varsity players and it’s the second time in three games the Lions have been not have able to play. Lighthouse did not play at Evansville Christian Friday night for the same reason and lost to Cannelton at home 43-32 Saturday Afternoon. Lighthouse Christian is 5-10 and scheduled to play at Washington Catholic Thursday Night at 6:30pm.

Indiana Water Polo Goes 4-0 Over the Weekend
Indiana Water Polo kicked off the 2022 season with a perfect 4-0 record at the USCB Winter Invite in Santa Barbara California over the weekend. The Hoosiers beat California Baptist 13-2 Friday, Azusa Pacific 11-6 and Iona 11-8 on Saturday and wrapped it up Sunday with a 22-5 win over Ottawa (Arizona).  The 11th ranked Hoosiers will be back in action this weekend when they travel to the Michigan Invitational Saturday and Sunday. The Hoosiers will face UCLA at Noon and LIU Brooklyn at 6 PM Saturday. Sunday the Hoosiers face Hawaii at 11:30am and Marist at 7pm.  

Indiana Women’s Soccer Player Hannah Nemeth Signs Pro Contract in Native Hungary
Indiana University Women’s Soccer Player Hannah Nemeth has signed with Ferencvarosi Torna Club in her native Hungary. Nemeth played in 83 games for the Hoosiers. She had 1 goal against Penn State March 4, 2021. In her career she had 20 shots and 7 assists and was mainstay on the Hoosiers back line for the last five seasons. She is 5-11 from Diosd Hungary, 2 time Academic All-Big Ten and 3 Time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.  

Sophomore Anna Aehling has signed a professional contract with Eintracht Frankfurt in her home country of Germany and will leave the Hoosiers Program after two seasons. Aehling is a defender from Coesfield, Germany.  She played and started in all 18 games this past season and had 7 shots and was named all-Big Ten Third Team. In her freshman season she played and started in all 12 matches and had 2 assists against Penn State in 2 separate matches. Aehling was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team and and All-Big Ten Freshman team. She came to Indiana on the Top Soccer Drawer top-100 Freshman watch list and was on the Big Ten Preseason watch list.
