
Indianapolis chosen for 2024 US Olympic Swimming Trials
The 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials be held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis last held the event in 2000, and since then it has taken place in Omaha, Nebraska and Long Beach, California. 2024 is also the 100-year anniversary of when of Indianapolis hosted the U.S. Olympic Trials, a year in which the Olympics were also held in Paris, as they will be in 2024. Specific dates for the competition are yet to be announced
City of Bloomington Accepting Applications for Redevelopment Commission
The City of Bloomington invites residents to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Bloomington Redevelopment Commission (RDC). The RDC oversees housing and neighborhood development, investigates opportunities for economic development and redevelopment in the city of Bloomington, and creates economic development areas, areas needing redevelopment, and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts.
The RDC meets twice a month on Mondays at 5pm in City Hall. RDC members must reside within the City limits during the entire term and be at least 18 years of age. Service requires an estimated commitment of four to five hours per month. Members receive no compensation for serving on the RDC.
Indiana AG announces lawsuit to liberate travelers from federal mask mandates
Attorney General Todd Rokita today announced a multistate lawsuit against several federal agencies and officials to force them to abandon illegal and unconstitutional mask mandates for travelers. With this lawsuit, Indiana and the 20 other states take aim at one of the remaining vestiges of federal overreach undertaken in the name of COVID-19 mitigation.
“There’s no good reason the feds should mandate masks at public transportation hubs and on commercial planes, buses, trains, ships and other vehicles,” Attorney General Rokita said. “This rule belongs in the same ash heap to which we have consigned the other overreaching measures we have successfully challenged.”

1954 – Mary Jane Croft made her first appearance on the I Love Lucy television series. She later became a regular on the show, portraying Betty Ramsey, Lucy‘s neighbor in Connecticut. Croft was born in Muncie and attended Ball State University. She developed her interest in acting at the Muncie Civic Theater.
