Seasonal Flooding Update
It’s that time of year again: flood season! As of March 27, the lake level was 9.7 feet above normal pool. Most of our boat ramps are unaffected (with the exception of Cutright SRA, where the regular ramp is closed but the high-water ramp is now accessible), but we will not be able to install courtesy docks until the water level drops and stabilizes. The fishing dock and marina peninsula at Paynetown SRA and the overlook at Stillwater Marsh are currently inaccessible due to flooding. If the water level rises further, additional areas may be impacted, please watch our Facebook Page for updates. To track the current lake level and discharge rate, go to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Louisville District) website and click on Daily Lake Level.
Gate Fees and Comfort Stations
Entrance gatehouses will begin operating for the 2022 recreation season at Paynetown and Fairfax SRAs the first weekend in April. The Daily Entrance Fee is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plates or $9 per vehicle with out-of-state license plates. Annual entrance permits, which provide entry to all Indiana State Park properties through the end of the year, are available for purchase at the entrance gatehouses and at our property office at Paynetown SRA.
We have begun the process of opening comfort stations and turning on water pumps throughout the Paynetown SRA campground. At least one comfort station will be ready for campers this weekend. If you will be camping during the first half of April, you can contact our property office a day or two prior to your arrival to find out which comfort stations will be available.
