Indiana Cutters open 2022 season in Bardstown Kentucky against Kentucky Cardinals
The Indiana Cutters Semipro Football Team opens the 2022 Season against the Kentucky Cardinals at 6 pm tomorrow evening at Nelson County HS in Bardstown Kentucky. This will be the first game for both games as members of the Blue-Collar Football League. The Cardinals beat the Cutters in Bardstown 20-6 on June 26, 2021, when the teams competed in the Battle Ground Football League.  

The Blue-Collar Football League has 11 teams in Two Conferences and four divisions.  The Cutters are in the Red Division of the Western Conference along with the Cardinals and the Indiana Tornados. The Southern Ohio Blaze and the Cin City Buccaneers are in the Blue Division.  The Cutters will play each team home and away this season and will have home and away with the Columbus Gladiators from Columbus Ohio to make up the ten-game regular season that runs through August 6th.  The Gladiators are in the Eastern Conference Red Division along with the Tuscarawas County Mustangs and Capital City Mustangs.  The Port City Spartans, Cincinnati Dukes, and Kentucky Huskies are in the Blue Division. The Top 4 Teams in Each Conference make the playoffs that will start in Mid-August.

The Cutters finished the 2021 season 5-4 and lost to the Indiana Tornados in the first game of the BGFL Playoffs. Head Coach Eric Anderson has an experienced coaching staff along with a mix of veteran and rookie players that are hungry and excited to get the season started tomorrow night.  

Indy Car Returns to Indianapolis for GMR Grand Prix at IMS Road Course
The 8th GMR Grand Prix will take place tomorrow afternoon on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course inside the historic two- and half-mile speedway. The Race starts 3 pm tomorrow on NBC. Rinus VeeKay is the defending champion while Will Power and Simon Pagenaud have won the race three times each.  

There are two practice sessions this morning at 9am and 12:45pm followed by Qualifying at 4pm this afternoon. There will be one final practice session at 10:30 am tomorrow morning. There are two Indy Lights races which is the development series for Indy Car. Race 1 is at 5:35pm this evening and Race 2 is at 1:15pm. This is the Kickoff weekend to the Historic Month of May at the Brickyard and the Indianapolis 500 that will be ran on Sunday May 29th.

Roddy Strong Memorial at Bloomington Speedway
One of the largest UMP Modified payouts early in the 2022 season is at Bloomington Speedwaythis evening. The double Memorial race for Roddy and Rod Harris Sr. has over 13 grand in prize money not counting the Lap money, Trophy Dash, Best Appearing Car, Longest Tow and Fast Qualifier. Just to start the B main pays 150 to all of the Modifieds in attendance. Roddy was one of the strongest people we know that battled courageously and this show is an awesome memory of that very fast 9H that won a lot of races at the Red Clay with many different drivers. An awesome list of businesses and people that new Roddy have made a huge donation to each Lap at 100 bucks so 3 grand if a lucky Mod driver would lead lap 1 thru 30. Hopefully the place is packed full of UMP Mods and a packed house on the hill to celebrate Roddy’s dream of definitely continuing the legendary race in honor of the father and son duo. This will feature some of the top talent for sure in the Midwest battling it out for an awesome trophy and memory. It will be an awesome filled pit area also with Sprints, Super Stocks and Hornets also on the schedule.

Amanda Cahill wraps up her season in Luxembourg and prepares for Summer Ball in Australia  
Former Indiana Women’s Basketball Player Amanda Cahill has completed her fourth season playing for Residence de Walferdange in Luxembourg. Cahill played in 31 Games, averaging 38.5 minutes, 23.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. Cahill scored in Double Figures in 30 of the 31 games. She had 27 double-doubles and 28 double figure rebounding games. Her Team finished second in both the regular season and the playoffs.

Cahill has signed with the Ipswich Force in Australia’s National Basketball League and will starting her season in a few weeks’ time. Cahill has arrived back in the United States to visit family and friends before she heads down under soon. Cahill is preparing to head back to Luxembourg for 5th season this fall and possibly a teaching job at the International School which she has been a substitute teacher since she started playing there.

Indians Fall to Charlotte 8-4

Bligh Madris launched his first home run of the season with two outs in the ninth inning, but back-to-back two-run frames weren’t enough to overcome an eight-run deficit as the Indianapolis Indians fell to the Charlotte Knights on Thursday night, 8-4.  The series will conclude this weekend as with first pitch scheduled for 7:04 pm tonight and tomorrow and 1:05 pm Sunday afternoon.
