Recount slated for Indiana District 32 Primary Election
Suzie Jaworowski, Fishers resident and Republican candidate for Indiana House District 32 in the recent Primary Election, has filed for a recount of the votes. The 3 way competition between Jawarowski, Fred Glynn, and Paul Nix was decided by just 6 votes, with Glynn defeating her 1844-1838 (with 479 votes going to Nix). The Indiana State Legislative District covers parts of Hamilton and Marion Counties, and was wide open after incumbent Tony Cook announced his decision to retire, and not seek reelection after his term expires at the end of this calendar year.
According to Indiana election laws, if a candidate seeks a recount, they are responsible to fund the effort themselves. Costs include a civil case-filing fee and a bond/cash deposit of at least $100.The court will determine the total cost based on the number of precincts that need to be counted. If a recount should alter the filed results of the election, the filing fee will be refunded.
