Indiana Women’s Basketball Beats Purdue
Indiana Women’s Basketball Closed out the regular season with a 74-59 win over archrival Purdue at Simon Skjdot Assembly Hall Saturday. It was Senior Day for Keyanna Warthen and Ali Patberg who could both come back for another season if they decide to since all athletes were given an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Mackenzie Holmes scored 26 Points, Aleska Glube had 14, Nicole Cardano-Hillary 11 Points and Grace Berger 10 Points. The Hoosiers are 18-4 and 16-2 Big Ten and have won 9 straight going into the postseason. The 16 Conference wins is the most in School History. The Hoosiers will be the Number 2 Seed in the Big Ten Women’s Tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and will play the winner of Number 10 Seed Penn State and Number 7 Michigan State on Thursday at 6:30 PM and the game will be broadcast of Fox Sports 2.
Indiana Men’s Basketball falls to Purdue
Indiana Men’s Basketball Closed out the regular season with a 67-58 loss at Purdue. The Hoosiers finish the regular season on a five-game losing streak and final regular season record of 12-14 and 7-12 in the Big Ten. Al Durham led the way with 14 Points, Trayce Jackson Davis and Jerome Hunter had 12 points each. Lafayette native Rob Phinesee had 10 points. The Hoosiers are the number 10 seed and will play 7th seed Rutgers on Thursday night at Lucas Oil Stadium at 6:30 pm and the game will be on the Big Ten Network.
Bloomington South Beats Bloomington North In Boys Sectional Championship Game
The Bloomington South Panthers beat the Bloomington North Cougars 76-53 in the Class 4A Boys Basketball Sectional Championship Game at Bloomington South. The Panthers have won 7 straight Sectional titles and 24 overall. The Panthers have beaten their crosstown rivals 11 straight and lead the series 51-27. Bloomington South will take a 16-game winning streak in to their regional semifinal game with Jeffersonville 15-6 on Saturday Morning 10 AM at Seymour. Center Grove 14-6 will take on Evansville Reitz 16-4 in the second semifinal with the championship game scheduled for 8 PM Saturday Night.
Edgewood Falls to Northview In Boys Basketball Sectional Championship Game
The Northview Knights beat the Edgewood Mustangs 60-52 in the Class 3A Boys Basketball Sectional Championship Game at Owen Valley. The Mustangs beat South Vermillion 49-47 on game winner but Senior Coleman Sater. Sater had his 2nd triple double of the season earlier in the week against Brown County. The Mustangs end the year 14-12 while the Knights are 17-7 and will face Beech Grove 18-5 in the Regional Semifinal at Greencastle Saturday Morning.
