Trayce Jackson Davis Named Third Team All American and First Team All-Big Ten
Indiana Men’s Basketball Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis was named 3rd team All American by the Sporting News and First Team All-Big Ten by the Media and 2nd team by the Coaches. He is the first Hoosier to be named All-American and first team All-Big Ten since Yogi Ferrell in 2016. He is the 46th player in IU History to be named All American. 14 of those players have been selected in multiple years. Only Three Players in IU History have been named All American Three years Don Schlundt, Kent Benson and Calbert Chaney. Jackson Davis is 4th in the Big Ten in Scoring 19.1 Points Per Game and 2nd rebounding with 9.0 Rebounds per game. The Hoosiers Play Rutgers at 6:30 PM on Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Al Durham Named Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Winner
Indiana Men’s Basketball Senior Al Durham was named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Winner. Each Big Ten School choses one player to receive the award. Durham is a team captain who has started 96 games in his career and is 52nd on the schools all time scoring list with 1,026 Points.
Illinois Dominates Wisconsin to Open Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament
12th Seed Illinois beats 13th Seed Wisconsin 67-42 in the Opening Game of the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament Tuesday Evening at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Illini got of a 17-0 lead before Wisconsin scored 2 Free Throws from Imani Lewis at 2:53 mark in the first quarter. The Badgers started the game 0-19 from the field before Sydney Hillard scored the first Wisconsin field goal at 8:52 to go in the 2nd quarter. Illinois led 32-12 at half and led by as many as 27 Points. Illinois is 5-17 and will play the 5th seed Northwestern today at 1:30 PM Wisconsin ends the season at 5-19. It’s a full day of games with 9th Seed Minnesota plays 8th Seed Nebraska at 11 AM, 10th seed Penn State plays 7th seed Michigan State at 6:30 PM and 11 Seed Purdue plays 6th Seed Iowa at 9 PM.
Indiana Men’s Golf Finishes 9th at Spartan Collegiate Indiana Men’s Golf finished in 9th place with a score of 865 one over par at the Spartan Collegiate in Sea Island Georgia. Clay Merchent finished tied for 9th place with 2 other players with a score of 213. Iowa won the tournament with a score of 851 which was 13 under par for the tournament. Mac Mclear of Iowa won the individual title with a score of 206 which was 10 under par. The Hoosiers will be back in action with the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach South Carolina March 14-16th.
