Indiana University Women’s and Men’s Basketball host Hoosier Hysteria this evening
Indiana University Women’s and Men’s Basketball released some final details and activities for this year’s Hoosier Hysteria which will be held tonight at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Tonight at 7pm at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Students may enter at 5:45pm with the general public coming into the facility at 6pm. Admission is free, but those attending are asked to donate a canned food item to benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. Parking is free and fans are asked to enter via Gates 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 with ADA parking available in Gate 13. Due to the homecoming parade, 17th St will be closed 5:30-6:30 p.m. ET. Please enter off the Bypass (Gate 10 or 11) to park on the Athletics campus during this time.

Fans will be able to lineup for admission beginning at 12 p.m. ET, (weather permitting) Friday. IU students are invited to begin lining up in the southeast corner of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Early arrivers will be positioned to have access to the best seats in the special general admission, student section of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Sections L-M for both Hoosier Hysteria as well as the post-event concert by G Herbo.

IU graduates Courtney Cronin (ESPN) and Rhett Lewis (IU Radio Network/Sirius XM) will serve as the emcees for the evening. Both the men’s and women’s teams will be introduced, and Coach Teri Moren and Coach Mike Woodson will address the crowd. Members of both programs will take part in a 3-point shooting contest and skills competition followed by other basketball activities.

Indiana University Football host 4th ranked Michigan Saturday afternoon
The Indiana Hoosiers will host the 4th ranked and unbeaten Michigan Wolverines at Noon Saturday in Memorial Stadium in a nationally televised game on Fox. Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff show will be broadcasting live from 10am-Noon in the South End Plaza outside Memorial Stadium. This will be the 109th homecoming game for the Hoosiers. IU is 45-57-6 all time in homecoming games. Indiana comes into the game with 3-2 record and a 1-1 Big Ten mark after a 35-21 loss at Nebraska last Saturday. Quarterback Connor Bazelak is 130-246 passing for 1,394 yards, 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. The Missouri Transfer has been sacked 12 times in his five games as a Hoosier. Indiana’s run game is going to need a big day the Hoosiers have struggled so far this season running the ball 158 times for 526 yards and 7 touchdowns. Auburn Transfer Shaun Shivers leads the team with 78 Carries for 345 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Cam Camper missed the Nebraska Game with an Illness he has 33 catches on the season for 418 yards and a touchdown pass.

The Hoosiers on defense are led by Cam Jones who has 54 tackles on the season and is the most for an IU defender in the first five games of the season since 2005. True Freshman Dasan McCullough has 4 sacks on the season and is number two nationally among rookies. Placekicker Charles Campbell is in the top 10 all time IU football history with 33 Field Goals Made and top 20 in career scoring with 154 points. In 63 Career games as IU Head Coach Tom Allen has seen 24 of those games decided by seven or fewer points with those coming this season.

Michigan is 5-0 on the season after a 27-14-win last Saturday at Iowa. The Wolverines are led by Quarterback J.J. McCarthy who is 66-84 passing for 848 yards with 6 Touchdown passes, no Interceptions and been sacked four times. Running Back Blake Corum has carried the ball 93 times for 611 yards and 10 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Ronnie Bell has 19 receptions on the season with 269 yards and a touchdown. On Defense Linebacker Junior Colson leading tackler with 37 Tackles. Michigan has owned the Hoosiers leading the all-time Series 60-10. Indiana beat Michigan 38-21 in Bloomington in 2020 before that the Hoosiers had not won a game in this series since 1987.

Michigan is Coached by Jim Harbaugh. He was a quarterback at Michigan from 1983-1986 before a long career in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers from 1987-2000. He signed with the Panthers in 2001 but he never played that season. Harbaugh is 124-51 all time as college coach with stops at San Diego from 2004-06 and Stanford from 2007-10 and has been at Michigan since 2015. Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014 with a 44-19-1 record 1 NFC Championship and Super Bowl Appearance where he lost to his brother John and the Balitmore Ravens in the 2012 season. Jim’s Sister Joani is married to former Indiana University Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Crean.

Indiana University Men’s Basketball Player Trayce Jackson-Davis named Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year
Indiana junior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis has been named the 2022-23 Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year as chosen by a select media panel, the conference office announced Thursday. A second-team All-Big Ten honoree in 2021-22, Jackson-Davis was also named to the 2022 Big Ten Men’s Basketball All-Tournament Team. The media also selected an 11-member Preseason All-Big Ten Team, with 10 conference programs represented.

Jackson-Davis, Michigan junior center Hunter Dickinson, and Purdue junior center Zach Edey were unanimous selections to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team. Illinois senior guard Terrence Shannon Jr., Iowa junior forward Kris Murray, Michigan State senior froward Malik Hall, Minnesota junior forward Jamison Battle, Penn State senior guard Jalen Pickett, Rutgers junior center Clifford Omoruyi, and Wisconsin sophomore guard Chucky Hepburn and senior forward Tyler Wahl also earned preseason accolades. Jackson-Davis, Dickinson, and Edey earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2021-22, while Hall, Battle, Omoruyi, and Wahl were named honorable mentions. Bloomington North and Edgewood Football in action this evening while Bloomington South has the week off
Week 8 of the High School Football Season sees Bloomington North face conference foe Columbus North on the road and Edgewood host Northview on the red carpet in Ellettsville. Bloomington South has bye week unable to find an opponent for this week. Both games kickoff at 7 pm this evening.

Bloomington North is 4-3 on the season and winners of their last three games. The Cougars are averaging 29 points on offense and giving up 25.6 points on defense. Columbus North is 3-4 on the season as the Bulldogs are averaging 28.3 points on offense and 29.4 points on defense.

Edgewood is 1-6 on the season and looking for its first win since week 1 against Mitchell. Edgewood averages 15.3 points on offense and 43 points on defense. Northview is 4-3 on the season but has lost 3 in a row after a 4-0 start to the season. Northview averages 30.6 points on offense and gives up 25.1 points on defense.

Bloomington South is 6-1 and has won the Conference Indiana Championship. The Panthers travel to Seymour for the regular season final next Friday Night. The Panthers are averaging 39.4 Points on offense and giving up 11 points on defense. The State Football tournament pairings show is Sunday at 5 pm streaming on IHSAAtv.org.

Indiana University Volleyball falls to defending National Champion Wisconsin
A depleted Indiana Volleyball team (9-8, 2-3) threw everything it had at the defending national champions on Wednesday night in Wilkinson Hall. Down two starters and three players total, the Hoosiers fell to No. 7 Wisconsin 3-0 (23-25, 18-25, 19-25) in the third match against a top-10 opponent so far in the conference season. Grae Gosnell (6 kills, 5 digs) and Ashley Zulauf (4 kills) were inserted into the starting lineup and played a role as IU attempted to breakdown one of the nation’s most prolific blocking teams. Mady Saris (10 kills) was into double digits for the 14th time this season while Camryn Haworth (22 assists, 9 digs) finished just shy of a double-double. Paula Cerame provided 13 digs to move to 986 for her collegiate career. Savannah Kjolhede was efficient while playing across the front line. The junior had eight kills while hitting .438 across 16 attempts. The Hoosiers return to action on Saturday (3:00 PM EST, BTN+) in Iowa for the second match of the season against the Hawkeyes
