Indiana junior Drew Salyers was named the Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week for the fourth time in his career and second time in as many weeks, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon. He is the only player in the conference to earn this distinction twice this season. Salyers posted his second-straight tournament victory at The Williams Cup after shooting a 212 (72-70-70; -4). He led the 60-player field with 16 birdies across all three rounds. He was tied for second in Par 3 scoring (2.92) and Par 4 scoring (3.90). The Williams Cup marked the ninth top-10 of his collegiate career. Indiana and Evansville Men’s Soccer play to 1-1 draw
Indiana men’s soccer (7-3-5, 3-1-3 B1G) and Evansville (6-3-5, 3-1-2 MVC) played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday at Adar McCutchan Stadium in Evansville. In the 3rd Minute Sophomore forward Tommy Mihalic carried to the top of the box, passed to redshirt senior Ryan Wittenbrink on the left wing and found space inside the 18 for the return pass. Mihalic received, turned and finished with his right foot around the keeper towards the back post. In the 14th Minute Wittenbrink was inches away when his attempt from just outside the box crashed off the post. In the 43rd Minute Junior goalkeeper JT Harms made a fingertip save that was just enough to push an attempt wide of goal. In the 54th Minute a quick Evansville counterattack from an IU corner found Harms off his line, and senior winger Nkosi Graham got around Indiana’s last man and put it home to equalize. In the 62nd Minute the ball fell to senior defender Ethan Garvey just outside the 18, and he fired a shot that clanged off the crossbar and behind.

Indiana remains undefeated against Evansville in 23 matches going back to 1992. IU moved to 32-4-4 in the all-time. Mihalic scored his sixth goal of the year to tie for the team lead. The sophomore has four goals in his last seven matches and six total goal contributions (goals plus assists) in his last eight. Wittenbrink added his sixth assist of the season, bringing his team-best point total to 18. Indiana continues its busy week when it welcomes Division III opponent Trine to Bill Armstrong Stadium this evening as kickoff is set for 6:30pm.
