Indiana Women’s Basketball Takes on Belmont in NCAA 2nd Round

The 4th seed Indiana Women’s Basketball Team will take on 12 seed Belmont this evening at 5 PM in the 2nd round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament at Bill Greehey Arena on the Campus of St Mary’s University in San Antonio Texas. The Hoosiers are 19-5 and coming off 63-32 rout of 13 Seed VCU on Monday. Belmont knocked off 5th Seed Gonzaga 64-59 increase their winning streak to 11 games dating back to February 13th. This will be the 7th all-time meeting between the two teams with Indiana leading the Series 5-1. The Hoosiers won the last meeting 48-47 March 20th, 2014 in the WNIT Tournament in Bloomington. The Winner will Advance to the sweet 16 to take on top seed in NC State in the Mercado Region. NC State beat 8 seed South Florida 79-67 Tuesday Afternoon.

Indiana Men’s Basketball Sophomore Armaan Franklin To Enter Transfer Portal

IU Men’s Basketball Sophomore Armaan Franklin will put his name in the transfer portal. The 6-4 Guard from Cathedral HS in Indianapolis averaged 11.4 Points, 4.1 Rebounds 2.1 Assists and 1.2 steals per game in 30.1 minutes last season for the Hoosiers. Franklin Chose Indiana over Purdue and Xavier and was part of the two-man recruiting class in 2019 with Trayce Jackson-Davis.  Franklin Shot 42.4 Percent from 3-point range, But Missed five of the teams 27 games with foot injuries. By entering the transfer portal, Franklin will be able to have direct contact with other schools and explore his options for a transfer. His entry into the portal does not prevent him from returning to Indiana next season. He is second player to enter the transfer portal joining Al Durham will play his final season as graduate transfer.

Indiana Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Northwestern 3-0

The Indiana Men’s Soccer Team beat Northwestern 3-0 Tuesday night at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The Hoosiers are 6-1 on the season and record their 5th shutout of the season. Nate Ward scored at the 10:49 mark with the assist to Maouloune Goumballe. Goumballe would score at the 19:44 mark with the assist to A.J. Palazzolo. Herbert Endeley capped it off with his 2nd goal of the season at the 50:14 mark. The Hoosiers Avenge their only loss of the season to the Wildcats that was 1-0 February 27th in Evanston. Northwestern is 2-5-1 on the season. Indiana will travel to Michigan This Saturday at 2 pm and the game is on the Big Ten Network.
