Indiana Men’s Basketball Player Race Thompson To Return to Team

Indiana Redshirt Junior Race Thompson has announced he will return to the Indiana Men’s Basketball Team and withdraw from the transfer portal. Thompson averaged 9.1 points and 6.2 rebounds and was one of two players to start all 27 games. Thompson had career highs of 22 points and 13 rebounds in 79-58 win over Providence on November 30th in the Maui Invitational in Asheville North Carolina. Over 65 Games for the Hoosiers, Thompson has averaged 5.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He is 4th player to withdraw from transfer portal joining Parker Stewart, Jordan Geronimo and Khristian Lander.

Armaan Franklin to Transfer to Virginia

Former Indiana Men’s Basketball Player Armaan Franklin has announced he will transfer to Virginia. As a Sophomore Franklin was one of the most improved players in the Big Ten last season, averaging 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the Hoosiers. Franklin was out for two weeks midway through the season due to an ankle injury. In a late February game against Rutgers, Franklin landed awkwardly and hurt his right foot a separate injury from his rolled ankle. After missing a few more games, he appeared in Indiana’s season ending loss to Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament. He Becomes the second player to leave the Hoosiers after Al Durham announced he will go to Providence.

Danielle Patterson to Transfer to St John’s

Former Indiana Women’s Basketball Player Danielle Patterson has announced she will transfer to St John’s for the final 2 years of her college career. The Brooklyn New York Native started her career at Norte Dame and left after two seasons. She came to Indiana and sat out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Patterson played in 15 games this season before opting out following a 58-50 win at Illinois on Valentine’s Day. Patterson had 26 points, 2 assists and 1 steal this season and she scored 14 points in the season opener against Eastern Kentucky.   

Four Monroe County Boys Basketball Players Selected for Hoosier Magazine Top 60 Workout

Monroe County will be well represented this Sunday at Marian University in Indianapolis for the Hoosier Basketball Magazine top 60 Workout. The top 60 Senior Boys Basketball Players are invited to compete for a chance at the Indiana All Star Team in June.  Bloomington’s South Joey Bomba, Edgewood’s Coleman Sater and Bloomington North’s Isaac Vencel will all participate. Connor Hickman from Bloomington South was selected but will not attend. Hickman injured his shoulder before the season started and had surgery. The Event will start at 1 pm and have two sessions from 1-3 and 3:30-5:30 PM. The cost is $ 8 per person.
