Jonathan Taylor requests a trade from Indianapolis Colts The Jonathan Taylor contract saga has taken another wild turn with the Colts’ star running back wanting out of Indianapolis. Taylor has officially requested a trade, CBS4’s Mike Chappell confirms. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news first. Taylor met with team owner Jim Irsay in his bus at training camp at Grand Park in Westfield on Saturday night. The 2020 second-round draft pick and one-time All-Pro from the University of Wisconsin has 33 touchdowns, 3 481 yards and 756 carries in 3 seasons with the Colts. He’s in the last year of his rookie contract and angling for a lucrative extension which is $ 4.3 Million. The Colts have not offered one drawing the ire of the 2021 rushing champion and his agent, Malki Kawa. The veteran has not practiced this camp yet after offseason ankle surgery landed him on the physically unable to perform list. Owner Jim Irsay was quick to shut down any trade possibility Friday evening before his meeting with Taylor. “We will not trade Jonathan Taylor,’’ Irsay Said. “That is a certainty. Not now or not in October. “That is the bottom line.’’ The Colts opened training camp last week and are preparing for their first preseason game on August 12, when they travel to the Buffalo Bills.
