Marshall beats Indiana 1-0 For NCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship

Marshall beat Indiana 1-0 in Overtime to win its first ever Men’s Soccer National Championship in Cary North Carolina Monday Night. A Blocked shot landed at the feet of Jamil Roberts after hit the crossbar and he was able to knock it home past IU Goalie Roman Celentano at the 97:08 mark to send the Marshall fans into a frenzy and the Thundering Herd end the year at 13-2-3.  Indiana is now 8-8 all time in championship games. The Hoosiers Lost in Overtime to Stanford in 2017 in Chester Pennsylvania. Indiana Last won it all in 2012 when they beat Georgetown 1-0 in Hoover Alabama. The Hoosiers finish the season at 12-2-2.

Running back Stephen Carr Transfers to Indiana from USC

Indiana Football keeps getting big time transfers the latest being Running Back Stephen Carr who joining the Hoosiers after four seasons at USC. Carr is 6-0 215 Pounds from Gardena California. In 6 Games Carr rushed 46 times for 476 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Trojans were 5-0 in the regular season and lost to Oregon in the Pac 12 Championship game. In his time in Los Angeles Carr had 264 carries for 1,319 yards and 12 touchdowns, he also caught 57 passes for 412 yards and one touchdown. Carr will be reunited with Deland McCullough who coached Trojans running backs in 2017. McCullough returns to Indiana after 3 years with the Kansas City Chiefs he coached at IU from 2011-16. Carr will be the 7 transfer to join the Hoosiers this fall.   

Seven-Footer Michael Durr Transfers to Indiana from South Florida

It Did not take long for new Indiana Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Woodson to fill the remaining scholarship that Jerome Hunter just vacated for next season. 7-0 250-pound Michael Durr announced he will transfer from South Florida to Indiana and have 2 years left with the Hoosiers. Durr averaged 8.8 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Bulls last season. The Atlanta Georgia Native played in 19 games last season as South Florida was 9-13 in the 2020-21 season. Durr was committed to Virginia Tech then decommitted and will join the Hoosiers this fall. IU has all 13 scholarships filled for the 2021-22 season.

Indiana Men’s Golf Tied for 8th Place in NCAA Regional

Indiana Men’s Golf is tied for 8th place at the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee Florida at the Seminole Legacy Club. The Hoosiers and TCU shot a 2 over par for a total score of 290. Host Florida State is leading with 271 good for 17 under par. The Seminoles lead Georgia Tech by 6 strokes going into Round 2 this morning 8:30 AM. The Hoosiers will tee off at 9:25 AM. Ethan Shepperd and Mitch Davis are tied for 27th shooting even round 72.
