Indiana Cutters Struggle in 18-0 Loss at Fort Wayne Wolverines

The Indiana Cutters Semi Pro Football Team lost to the Fort Wayne Wolverines 18-0 at Havenhurst Park in New Haven on Saturday. The Game was scoreless after the 1st quarter and each team could not score on their first three possessions. The Wolverines used 13 play drive to score on 13-yard touchdown run with 5:56 to go before halftime. The Cutters punted on 3 of their first 4 drives with a fumble on the snap and unable to get the punt away to give the Wolverines good field possession at Cutters 39-yard line but the Cutters Defense stood tall as former IU and Kentucky Wesleyan Player DJ Stephens got the fumble recovery. The Cutters took a knee to go into halftime after 11 play Wolverines drive that resulted in a 4th down incomplete pass gave the Cutters the ball with just seconds left before the break. The Cutters continued to struggle in the 2nd half punting the ball twice and being unable to convert on 4th down with incomplete passes. The Wolverines scored on a 42-yard touchdown pass on their first possession in the 3rd quarter to make 12-0. The Wolverines added their final score with a 4-yard touchdown run with 11:48 left in the game to make 18-0 but were 0-3 on 2-point conversions in the game. The Cutters are 1-1 on the season and return to action this Saturday Night when they host the Stateline Seminoles at 7 pm at Danville HS. Tickets are $ 5 for adults and children 12 and under are free of charge.   

Grace Berger and Team USA 3-0 at AmeriCup

Indiana University Women’s Basketball Rising Senior Grace Berger and Team USA are 3-0 at the AmeriCup Tournament in San Juan Puerto Rico. Berger played 15 Minutes went 2-5 from the field, 0-1 from 3-point range, 0-2 from the foul line. Berger had 4 points 2 steals and 1 rebound as USA beat Puerto Rico 87-65 Sunday Night. Berger had 8 points, 6 Rebounds 4 assists, 2 steals and 4-4 at the foul line in a 102-53 win over Venezuela. The Americans are back in action tonight against Argentina at 9:10 PM.

Bloomington South In Boys State Golf Finals

Bloomington South will tee off at 8:18 this morning in the Boys State finals at Prairie View Golf Club In Carmel. All Teams and Individuals will play 36 holes today and tomorrow. Bloomington South finished 2nd place in the Providence Regional at Champions Pointe to advance to the State Finals.

Andrew Capobianco Qualifies for Second Event in Tokyo Olympics

Indiana University Rising Redshirt Senior Andrew Capobianco Qualified for the 2nd event at 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a 2nd place finish in the 3 Meter Springboard with a score of 1,319.40 Points as the top two in Each Event make the Olympic Team as US Diving Trials in Indianapolis. IU Alum Mike Hixon finished 4th with a score of 1, 309.65 and incoming freshman Quinn Henninger was 7th with 1,142,20 points. In the Women’s 10 Meter Platform Former NCAA Champion and IU Grad Jessica Paratto finished 4th with a score of 973.75 and fellow Alum Amy Cozad Magana was 6th with a score of 922.20.
