Indiana Football Gets Commitment from Phillip Dunnam

Indiana University Football has landed a verbal commitment from Phillip Dunnam for 2022. Dunnam is 6-1 180-pound athlete out of North Miami Beach High School in Florida. Dunnam has been recruited to Indiana as safety. Dunnam picks the Hoosiers over Appalachian State, Central Michigan, Florida State, Howard, Kent State, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, Syracuse, Toledo, Western Michigan and Wayne State. Dunnam becomes the 13th player in the 2022 class and cannot sign a national letter of intent until December or February when the national signing periods take place.

Indiana Women’s Soccer Sophomore to Be Gabi Rennie Leads New Zealand in Olympics

Two Days before the Opening Ceremony of 2020 Tokyo Olympics the competition gets under way with Softball and Women’s Soccer.  Indiana University Women’s Soccer Rising Sophomore Gabi Rennie will lead her native New Zealand against Australia at 7:30 AM Eastern time this morning on USA Network. The Game will be replayed at 2:15 this afternoon on NBC Sports Network. Rennie is from Christchurch New Zealand she played in all 11 games this spring for the Hoosiers starting 4. Rennie had an assist at Michigan March 28th and had 2 shot attempts. There will be 15 athletes and 2 coaches representing 6 countries at this year’s games. IU has had 240 athletes representing 26 countries over the years and 17 coaches have represent IU. IU has had 104 overall medals including 55 Gold, 17 Sliver and 32 Bronze. Hoosiers have earned a medal in every games they have participated in with the exception 2004 games in Athens Greece and have had at least 1 Olympian in the last 21 Summer Olympics going back to 1932.   

Bloomington City Golf Champions Crowned at Cascades Golf Course

2021 Bloomington City Golf Tournament is in the Books after four champions in four divisions were crowned at Cascades golf course on the Northside of Bloomington. In the Phil Talbot Men’s Championship Jace Day beat Nick Burris 4 and 3 for his first city championship at the Men’s Level Day won 2 Junior titles in 2018 and 2019. Jim Alexander beat Steve Hinds 2 and 1 to win the Paul Gray Senior Championship for his first championship. Ike Martin beat Bill Pfrommer 5 and 4 for the Ross Rush Super Senior Championship. Martin has won 3 City Senior Titles in 2009, 2017 and 2009 but this is his Super Senior Championship. Simon Deliyannis beat Connor Byon 6 and 5 to win the Eddie Lawson Junior Championship for his first city championship. The Women’s tournament was not held this year.  

Former Indiana Basketball Player Chris Reynolds Named Chair of NCAA Basketball Tournament

Current Bradley University and former Indiana Basketball player has been named the chair of the Division 1 Men’s Basketball Committee for 2022-2023 school year. Reynolds will lead 12-person committee that will select the 68-team field for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Reynolds will serve as vice chair for the 2021-22 season supporting Southland Conference Commissioner Tom Burnett who will chair the group this season. Reynolds played at IU from 1990-1993 winning two Big Ten Championships in 1991 and 1993 and advanced to the 1992 Final Four.
