Holcomb announces Covid-19 vaccination information

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb addressed the public yesterday to discuss the state plan for rolling out the Covid Vaccination. Up until now, vaccinations have been made available to persons serving in health care settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious material, as well as Individuals with increased risk medical conditions. Phase 2 is underway, including first responders; persons living or working in prisons, jails, and detention centers; persons living or working in group homes or shelters; and, those Individuals whose in-person work is essential, required, and places them in settings where social distancing is not possible and transmission risk is high.

Hoosiers 80 and older will receive a card from the state letting them know they are eligible, and can sign up to get the vaccine. Their appointments can be made online beginning this Friday. There will be no charge for the Vaccinations.

Senator Todd Young shares thoughts on 2020 election

Indiana Senator Todd Young was recorded addressing a crowd of protestors yesterday at the US Capital, urging him and other Congressional Members to reject the 2020 Presidential election Elector College results. A video captured his comments . . .

“My opinion doesn’t matter and you know what? When it comes to the law, our opinions don’t matter. The law matters, I actually share your concerns. I share your conviction that President Trump should remain President … But the law matters. I took an oath under God … under God! I took an oath! Do we still take that seriously in this country? I took an oath under God. Does that matter anymore?”

Senator Young has released that he will support forming a bipartisan Election Integrity Committee charged to review the 2020 election and make recommendations to state legislatures to improve the security, integrity, and administration of federal elections.

City of Bloomington Utilities Presents Water Rate Case in 2021

The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) has begun the process of requesting an increase in customers’ water rates to modernize and improve the public water utility.  Consistent with a 2016 request from the Bloomington Common Council, CBU plans to conduct a water rate review every four years in order to stay current on the City’s water main maintenance and replacement, and cover inflationary increases in operation and maintenance costs.  The scheduled 2020 rate case process was delayed to early 2021 by the exigencies of the COVID-19 pandemic.
