
Indiana University Softball Earns NCAA Tournament Bid and will head to Columbia Missouri for Regional
Indiana Softball earned an NCAA Tournament bid for the second consecutive season on Sunday night as announced on the NCAA Softball Tournament Selection Show. The Hoosiers will be the No. 3 Seed in the Columbia Regional. The regional will take place from May 17-19 at the University of Missouri. Missouri is the No. 7 overall seed in the tournament.
Indiana will play against No. 2 seed Washington in their first game of the regional on Friday May 17 at 3 p.m. (ET)/2 p.m. (CT). No. 1 seed Missouri will play against No. 4 seed Omaha at 5:30 p.m. (ET)/4:30 p.m. (CT) that afternoon. The regional round is a four-team, double-elimination tournament played over three days. Indiana enters the postseason with a 40-18 record and was the runner-up in the Big Ten Tournament, marking back-to-back seasons of 40-plus wins and Big Ten Tournament final appearances.
Indiana University Women’s Soccer Names Blake Denny Director of Operations
Indiana Women’s Soccer head coach Erwin van Bennekom has announced the addition of Blake Denny to the staff as the Director of Operations. “We are thrilled to welcome Blake Denny to our program,” van Bennekom said. “Coming from within Indiana University, his familiarity with our staff and the athletic department will be invaluable. His dedication to professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for the game are qualities that will undoubtedly enhance our environment and support our student-athletes and coaching staff.”
Denny served as an event management coordinator on the event operations staff at IU for the last year. In his role, he prepared and managed gameday operations for three programs including: women’s soccer, swim and dive and water polo. He also served in a variety of roles in athletic operations including co-directing the athletic event parking operations, security instruction and conflict resolution. “Thank you to Erwin, Tim and Jennifer for this opportunity,” Denny said. “It is an honor to join this team, and I am very excited to do my part in building on the success of the program in this new role. Go IU!” Denny graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree with a focus in Fitness & Wellness in 2021 and earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology studying Athletic Administration and Sport Management in 2023.
Indiana Fever Announce Five Games will be televised on Bally Sports Indiana this season
Indiana Fever and Bally Sports Indiana announced Monday the network will broadcast five of the team’s regular season games beginning Tuesday, May 28 when the Fever take on the Los Angeles Sparks at 7 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Pat Boylan (play-by-play) and Debbie Antonelli (analyst) will call the action.

Indianapolis Colts Sign two more 2024 Draft Picks The Indianapolis Colts today signed tackle Matt Goncalves and guard Tanor Bortolini. The Colts have now signed seven of their nine draft picks from the 2024 NFL Draft.
Goncalves, 6-6, 317 pounds, was selected by Indianapolis in the third round (79th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He appeared in 38 career games (24 starts) at Pittsburgh (2019-23) with 13 starts at right tackle and 11 starts at left tackle. In 2023, Goncalves was named a team captain. He started the first three contests of the season at left tackle before suffering a season-ending injury. In 2022, Goncalves started all 13 games he saw action in with starts at right tackle (eight) and left tackle (five). He garnered Third Team All-ACC accolades and was selected to the All-ACC Academic Football Team. His last name is pronounced gunn‐ZAWL‐vezz.
Bortolini, 6-4, 303 pounds, was selected by the Colts in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He saw action in 35 career games (28 starts) at Wisconsin (2020-23) with 13 starts at center, eight at left guard, three at right guard, three at right tackle and one at tight end. In 2023, Bortolini started all 12 games at center. He earned All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition in each of his last two seasons (2022-23). Bortolini was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Team member (2021-23). His name is pronounced TANN‐er bort‐oh‐LEE‐nee.
Indiana Fever announce 2024 opening night roster
The Indiana Fever announced the opening night roster in preparation for Tonight’s matchup at 7:30pm against the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tuesday’s game will be broadcast on ESPN 2, Disney+, the WNBA App and on WNBA League Pass. Indiana opens up the regular season home schedule on Thursday against the New York Liberty at 7pm on WTHR Channel 13 and Prime Video. Indiana Pacers Blow Out the New York Knicks to even the series at 2-2
The Indiana Pacers dominated the New York Knicks Sunday in Game 4 Sunday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, winning 121-89 to even their Eastern Conference series 2-2. The Pacers are now 5-0 at home during the playoffs this season. Indiana took control from the start, leading by 20 after one quarter and by 28 at halftime. The most the Pacers led by was 43 points. Five players scored in double figures for Indiana led by Tyrese Haliburton with 20 points. TJ McConnell added 15, while Pascal Siakam and Obi Toppin had 14 points each. Game 5 is on Tonight at Madison Square Garden.
