The Edgewood Mustangs are back home on the Red Carpet in Ellettsville as they Host the Northview Knights at 7 PM this evening for Week 8 of High School Football. Edgewood is 4-3 on the season and are coming off a 47-41 win at Sullivan last week for their first road win of the season. Edgewood is 3-0 at home this season but that will be tested tonight as Northview comes in 6-1 after losing 45-7 at South Putnam last week. Edgewood is averaging 25.1 points per game and giving up 25.9 points on defense. Northview is averaging 45.7 points on offense and giving up 15.1 points on defense with two shutouts.
Edgewood has been outscored 176-181 in seven games while Northview has outscored their opponents 320-106 this season. Northview leads the series 29-8 in the last 40 years and has won 16 in a row against the Mustangs. Edgewood last beat Northview on August 29, 2008, 35-14 in Ellettsville. Northview Head Coach Mark Ratez is 104-37 in his 14th year at Northview and 119-82 in his 20th season overall. Edgewood Head Coach Scott Fischer is 13-23 in his fourth year at Edgewood and 30-68 in his 10th year overall.
Bloomington South returns home as they face Brebeuf Jesuit tonight at the Fred Huff Memorial Field at 7:30 PM. The Panthers are coming off a 37-0 loss at Ironton, Ohio last Saturday Night in their first matchup against an out of state team since 1994. The Panthers are averaging 41.7 points per game on offense and giving up 12.1 points on defense. Head Coach Gabe Johnson is 57-19 in his 7th season at the school and 71-29 overall in nine seasons.
Brebeuf Jesuit is 4-3 overall and took down Columbus North 32-29 on the road last Friday Night. The Braves are averaging 28 points per game on offense and giving up 24.1 points per game on defense. Head Coach Matt Geske is 45-31 in his 7th season in charge of the Braves. This will be the fourth meeting in the last 40 years between the two teams. Bloomington South won 38-7 on October 10, 2025, in Indianapolis. Brebeuf won 67-58 on October 11, 2024, in Bloomington and the Panthers won 51-26 on October 6, 2023, in Indianapolis.
Bloomington North is home at Dennis O. Martin Memorial Field when they host the Franklin Grizzly Cubs this evening at 7 PM. The Cougars have lost three in a row and look to get back in the win column after being shutout last week at Decatur Central. The Cougars are averaging 21.4 points per game on offense and giving up 34.7 points on defense for first year Head Coach Andy Harding.
Franklin is 4-3 on the season and has lost back-to-back games at Mooresville 49-28 and home to Plainfield 48-14. The Grizzly Cubs are averaging 29.7 points on offense and giving up 30 points on defense. Head Coach Chris Coll is 42-57 in his 10th year at the school and 121-100 in his 21st year overall. This will be the fifth meeting in the last 40 years between these two teams with the series tied 2-2. Frankin won the last meeting 22-19 on October 19, 2012, in the sectional. This is the first regular season meeting between two teams since at least 1993.
