Edgewood beats Sullivan for the First Time Since 2014 while Bloomington North is Shutout at Decatur Central

The Edgewood Mustangs beat the Sullivan Golden Arrows 47-41 at Sportland Field in Sullivan Friday Night for the first road win of the season and improves to 4-3 on the season. The Mustangs have outscored the opponent 156-68 in their four wins and been outscored 113-20 in their three losses Edgewood is averaging 25.1 points on offense and giving up 25.9 points on defense. Edgewood hosts 6-1 Northview on the Red-Carpet Friday Night. 

    Sullivan is 3-4 on the season and dropped three in a row. The Golden Arrows have been outscored 143-71 the last three weeks and 192-78 in their four losses. Sullivan leads the series 14-12 last 40 years and this is the first time the Golden Arrows have lost to the Mustangs at home since September 16, 2011, when Edgewood beat Sullivan 35-28 and the first time losing to Edgewood since September,19, 2014 when Mustangs won 14-6 in Ellettsville. Sullivan will hit the road next week to face 4-3 Vincennes Lincoln 

    Bloomington North suffered a 51-0 loss at Decatur Central Friday Night as the Cougars are shutout for the first time since September 5, 2025, when they lost at Terre Haute South 23-0. The Cougars are 3-4 on the season and have been outscored 165-26 in there four losses and outscored the opponent 124-78. Bloomington North is averaging 21.4 points on offense and giving up 34.7 points on defense. Bloomington North will host 4-3 Franklin on Friday Night. 

   Decatur Central is 6-1 on the season and a six-game winning streak after dropping the season opener to Avon. The Hawks have won their six games by a combined score of 250-54 and 256-85 with three shutouts. Decatur Central leads the Series the last 40 years 5-4 as this was the first meeting between the two teams since a playoff game in 2009 and the first regular season meeting since 2005. Decatur Central will travel to 5-2 Perry Meridian on Friday Night.

   Top ranked Bloomington South makes the long bus trip to Ironton, Ohio to Battle the Tigers this evening at 6 PM at historic Tanks Memorial Stadium in Ironton Ohio. Bloomington South is 6-0 and Ironton is 5-1 and this is the first meeting between the two teams and the first time the Panthers have faced an out of state time since 1994.
