Team USA will advance to the Quarterfinals on Friday with the Semifinals on Saturday and the Final on Sunday. The United States put Six players in Double Figures with 17 points from Joyce Edwards and 15 points from Kayleigh Heckel. Jasmine Davidson and Arianna Roberson scored 14 points apiece. Zakayiah Johnson and Sienna Betts scored 10 points each, and Sarah Strong had 8 points and 10 Rebounds. In three games the United States has scored 310 points averaging 104.7 points per game, and have given up 93 points total for 31.0 defensive average. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jessica Parratto Books her Trip to Paris<\/strong> <strong>for the 2024 Summer Olympics  <\/strong>                                                                                                                                       <br>2020 Olympic silver medalist Jessica Parratto earned a trip to her third Olympics on Tuesday (June 18) at the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Parratto and partner Delaney Schnell won the women&#8217;s synchronized 10-meter \u2013 the event they earned a silver medal in at the 2020 Tokyo Games \u2013 with a score of 607.14 points.  Parratto enters the 2024 Paris Games a three-time Olympian, adding to an elite list of IU women to reach three Olympics in diving. She joins Ingeborg Pertmayer (1964, 1968, 1972) and Cynthia Potter (1972, 1976, 1980).  The Indiana swimming and diving program has now produced an Olympic diver in every Summer Games since 1964. Indiana&#8217;s 2024 Olympian count improves to six. Parratto and swimmers Lilly King and\u00a0Mariah Denigan will represent Team USA.\u00a0Tomer Frankel (Israel), Rafael Miroslaw (Germany) and Kai van Westering (Netherlands) have each qualified internationally in swimming.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday Afternoon in the Prelims Parratto and partner Delaney Schnell gave themselves a platform in the women&#8217;s synchronized 10-meter prelim, scoring 303.90 points \u2014 nearly 60 points better than the second-place pairing.&nbsp; Andrew Capobianco and current IU collegiate diver&nbsp;Quinn Henninger are part of a tight battle in the men&#8217;s synchronized 3-meter event. The Hoosier duo sits second after the morning with a score of 403.95. Their total sits just 15 hundredths of a point behind Gregory Duncan and Tyler Downs but 6.54 ahead of Jack Ryan and Grayson Campbell.  Capobianco and Henninger are attempting the highest total degree of difficulty of the field, giving them the potential to earn a greater maximum score from their list.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Swimmer Josh Matheny Qualifies for the 200 Meter Breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Trials <\/strong>                                                                                         <br>Josh Matheny has given himself another shot at Olympic qualification with his performances in the men&#8217;s 200-meter breaststroke Tuesday, qualifying for the final at the United States Olympic Swimming Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Matheny will enter the 200 breast final as the No. 3 seed after winning the first semifinal heat in 2:08.79.\u00a0 Matheny had a heartbreaking result in the 100-meter event on Sunday, finishing third \u2014 just outside of top-two qualification.\u00a0 Six Hoosiers advanced from Tuesday morning heats.\u00a0 Josh Matheny who finished third in the 100-meter breaststroke on Sunday \u2014 captured the No. 2 qualifying spot in the 200 breast semifinal with a 2:09.59.\u00a0Mariah Denigan, already qualified for the Olympics as an open water swimmer, finished seventh in the 1,500 free with a 16:22.28 to advance to Wednesday&#8217;s final.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Four Indiana University Track and Field Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors<\/strong>                                                                                                         <br>Four Indiana track and field student-athletes, Tyler Carrel, Camden Marshall, Skylar Stidam and Nathan Stone, were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.  Carrel had a great season in the pole vault. He punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a height of 5.32m\/17-5.5 at the East First Round. The Urbana, Ill. Native, saw a personal best height of 5.45m\/18-2 at the Texas Invitational.  He finished 22<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0at the NCAA Championships, earning USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-America honors. Carrel was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten list this spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marshall had an outstanding year on the track. He set two school records, won first-team All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a sixth-place finish in the DMR and achieved Second-Team All-America honors with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Corydon, Ind. native, brought home the gold medal in the 800 meters at the Indoor Big Ten Championships and won the silver medal at the outdoor conference championships in a close race.  Before he wraps up the season, Marshall will compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., after earning a qualifying time. He will race amongst the nation\u2019s best for a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. He was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate Nathan Stone finished out his career as a five-time Big Ten Champion with three indoor and two outdoor Big Ten titles. He won his fifth gold medal at the 2024 Indoor Big Ten Championships. He posted a personal-best of 5.50m\/18-0.5 at the Meyo Invitational and ranks fifth in the program\u2019s all-time top-10 list.  The Indianapolis, Ind., native is a three-time All-American and has received First Team All-Big Ten honors four times. Stone is also accomplished in the classroom and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the others, Stidam had a big year. He set the 10,000-meter school record in his outdoor season debut. He finished fourth in a tight race at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. A native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Stidam earned his first Big Ten medal in the 5,000 meters in a time of 13:56.43. The All-America recipients will be announced on Tuesday, July 9.   First-, second- and third-team Men\u2019s Track and Field\/Cross Country Academic All-America\u00ae honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. (Women\u2019s Track and Field\/Cross Country honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Report: Indiana Pacers to Sign Pascal Siakam to a Four Year $189.5 Millon Dollar Contract <\/strong>                                                                                                     <br>The Indiana Pacers are set to sign All-Star forward Pascal Siakam to a four-year, $189.5 million contract,\u00a0ESPN&#8217;s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday morning. The 30-year-old plans to sign the contract after the NBA&#8217;s free agency moratorium ends July 6, according to the report.  Siakam was acquired midway through the 2023-24 season in a trade with the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 41 games with the Pacers and led the team with 21.6 points per game during its run to the Eastern Conference finals.  A two-time All-Star, Siakam spent the previous seven-plus seasons in Toronto after being drafted with the 27th overall draft pick in 2019. Once finalized, the deal would mean the Pacers have Siakam and All-NBA guard Tyrese Haliburton under contract through 2029 and 2028, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drew Glover Named Taylor University Men\u2019s Soccer Interim Head Coach for the 2024 Season<\/strong>                                                                                                  <br>Taylor University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Kyle Gould, announced on Wednesday that Drew Glover would lead the TU men\u2019s soccer program as the interim head coach throughout the upcoming 2024 campaign.  \u201cWe are thankful that Drew is willing to lead the men\u2019s soccer program this season,\u201d said Gould. \u201cDrew has been a valuable member of our coaching staff the past two years and has demonstrated a true care for our men\u2019s soccer program and our student-athletes. We look forward to supporting him, and our team, this upcoming season and we are excited about the future of TU men\u2019s soccer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glover will take over for Gary Ross, who ended his 20-year tenure at the helm of the TU program in April to accept a full-time role within Taylor\u2019s Advancement Office. Glover has served as an assistant coach on staff for Ross over the past two years, after also serving as an assistant at Indiana Wesleyan for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.  Prior to his four years of coaching, Glover was a four-year starter on the pitch at Indiana Wesleyan, where he served as a team captain during his senior season.  Glover and the Trojans will begin their 2024 schedule with a match at Concordia on August 17 and are set to play their home opener against Defiance on August 21.  Taylor will open a national search following the season for its next head men\u2019s soccer coach<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indy Eleven Women&#8217;s Soccer shuts out Lexington SC on the Road<\/strong>                                                                                                                                                  <br>Indy Eleven went on the road and defeated Lexington SC, 2-0, in its first of three road matches to close the 2024 regular season. Indy moves to 7-0-1 with the victory and sits atop the USL W League Valley Division with 22 points and a plus-29 goal differential with only two matches to play. Overall, Indy is riding a 15-match unbeaten streak dating back to June 18, 2023.The first half belonged to the visitors as Sam Dewey got Indy Eleven on the board just five minutes into the match. A Grace Bahr corner found its way off the inside of the far post and a deflected off a Lexington defender, which left the ball at the feet of Dewy for the early lead. The goal was Dewey\u2019s second of the season in three matches played.The Girls in Blue have now scored first in seven of eight games this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indy\u2019s captain and leading scorer Ella Rogers doubled the lead for the Girls in Blue in the 51st minute off a shot from the top of the 18 by way of an Addie Chester assist. The tally was number six for Rogers, while the assist was the first for Chester. The shutout is the third of the season in four matches for Nona Reason and fifth overall for Indy. The Girls in Blue are back in action Friday as they play at Kings Hammer FC. Kick is slated for 7pm.
