Brianna Copeland had a historic day, hitting her 41st career home run to break the program’s all-time record. She also earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game in the process. With the win, Indiana is now 27-10 on the season and winners five in a row. Louisville opened the scoring in the top of the first with two runs scoring on a fielder’s choice to go up 2-0. After a quiet first two innings, the Hoosiers came alive in the third inning. Brianna Copeland started it off with a solo shot to center field to put Indiana up 1-0 and become the program’s leader in career home runs with 41. Later in the inning Kinsey Mitchell hit a single up the middle to bring home Taylor Minnick home to tie the game at 2-2.

Louisville briefly took the lead back in the top of the fourth inning on a Madison Pickens home run to make it a 3-2 game. Everything started clicking for Indiana in the fourth as the team took the lead and exploded for four runs. Avery Parker and Aly VanBrandt each had RBI singles and Mitchell hit a sacrifice fly to bring another run home. Alex Cooper had the exclamation point of the game with a 2-run bomb to right center and make it an 8-3 game in the bottom of the fifth. Copeland’s home run marked the 41st of her career and broke the program record. Both Copeland and Cooper hit a home run. Indiana outhit Louisville on the night, 12-3. Five Hoosiers registered an RBI on the night: Avery Parker (2), Kinsey Mitchell (2), Cooper (2), Copeland (1) and Aly VanBrandt (1). Copeland picked up her second straight win in the circle and threw another complete game in the process. She had six strikeouts and only allowed three hits. Indiana will return to play for a road series at Wisconsin today through Sunday.

Tickets on Sale for Indiana-Ball State Baseball at Victory Field April 23rd Victory Field will once again play host to a college baseball game between Indiana University (away) and Ball State University (home). That’s according to a new study by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University Columbus, reported on by the Wall Street Journal. Brewer’s analysis finds Indiana has the third highest enterprise value ($279 million) in the nation among all men’s college basketball programs. At $34 million, his data indicates IU has the sixth most revenue, while its $12.9 million of cash flow ranks eighth. Indiana ranks behind North Carolina and Duke, and ahead of Ohio State and Louisville to round out the top five. The determination of an overall enterprise value is an attempt to measure what the selling price of the program would be similar to how professional sports organizations are sold. In the same study, the IU women’s program is ranked No. 14 in the nation with annual revenue of $8.5 million, and an enterprise value of $50 million. Brewer cautions the actual enterprise value could be substantially higher because a college basketball program is a rare asset. Moreover, with revenue sharing looming, how much resources a school chooses to allocate to basketball players could significantly impact values going forward.

Big Ten Releases School Schedule for Football Media Days in July The Big Ten Conference announced today the school appearance schedule for the 2025 Big Ten Football Media Days presented by Discover®. This time, TU saw No. 7 Concordia battle back from a 9-5 halftime deficit to escape with a 13-11 victory over the Trojans. The two sides played to a 3-3 draw after the first 15 minutes of action, before goals from Will Vanderkodde and Jack Kaiser opened a 5-3 lead that the Trojans would maintain through the rest of the half. The TU advantage swelled to 8-4 with a goal from Ben Mueller, followed by back-to-back Jackson Dale scores. A strike from Will Saxby in the final minute sent Taylor to the break with a 9-5 cushion. Concordia (6-4, 3-1 WHAC) controlled the second half however, scoring all three goals in the third to slowly chip away at the TU lead and continued its stifling defense in the fourth to pull out the 13-11 win. Saxby and Dale paced the Trojans, combining for five goals and five assists, while Vanderkodde also performed well with a trio of scores and five ground balls. Ben Harrell was tough in the net once again, stopping 16 CU shots.
