Indiana&#8217;s record now stands at 31-10 on the season and 10-5 in Big Ten play.  After a scoreless inning and a half,\u00a0Madalyn Strader\u00a0set the tone for the game with a solo home run to right center to put Indiana up 1-0 in the bottom of the first. Indiana&#8217;s defense continued to halt any Boilermaker momentum in the third inning, converting on a 5-3 double play.  In the bottom of the frame the Hoosiers made it a 6-0 game with an\u00a0Avery Parker\u00a0double to right center to score three Hoosiers right before\u00a0Josie Bird\u00a0hit a 2-run bomb over the right field wall.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The offensive onslaught continued in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run from\u00a0Hannah Haberstroh, an RBI double from\u00a0Aly VanBrandt\u00a0and a walk from\u00a0Madalyn Strader\u00a0with the bases loaded to make it 9-0.  Indiana&#8217;s defense put together a quick 1-2-3 inning in the top of the fifth to end the game and secure the run rule victory.  Indiana held Purdue to just one hit and it was on the very first at bat of the game.  It was Indiana&#8217;s second series sweep in Big Ten play. They also swept Maryland on the road (March 20-22).   The win improved Troutt&#8217;s season record to 9-6.  Three Hoosiers homered: Strader, Bird and Haberstroh.  Indiana has won four-straight games.  Indiana\u00a0will\u00a0next be in action this evening against Notre Dame for a 6 p.m. first pitch at Andy Mohr Field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Men&#8217;s Tennis takes down Nebraska 4-0  <\/strong>                                                                                                                                                                    The No. 64 Indiana men&#8217;s tennis team closed out its home schedule in style Sunday, defeating No. 58 Nebraska 4-0 on Senior Day at the IU Tennis Center.  Indiana secured the doubles point by winning courts No. 2 and No. 3. Senior duo\u00a0Jip van Assendelft\u00a0and\u00a0Facundo Yunis\u00a0won at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, over Joan Torres Espinosa and Leo Linquet, while\u00a0Sam Landau\u00a0and\u00a0Braeden Gelletich\u00a0clinched the point with a 7-6 (7-3) victory over Henry Lamchinniah and Colson Wells at No. 3, improving their record to 7-0 as a doubles team, with all matches taking place in Big Ten play. Nebraska took No. 1 doubles, 7-5, as Henry Bilicic and Nikolay Sysoev defeated\u00a0Michael Andre\u00a0and\u00a0Matteo Antonescu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In singles play, Indiana won at courts No. 2, 3, and 5 to clinch the match.\u00a0Michael Andre\u00a0started off the scoring with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Leo Linquet at No. 2, followed by\u00a0Facundo Yunis\u00a0defeating Colson Wells 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3.\u00a0Aidan Atwood\u00a0sealed the win for Indiana with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 comeback victory over Niels Van Der Sijs at No. 5, clinching the 4-0 victory for the Hoosiers before the three other courts could finish. Indiana honored five seniors following the match:\u00a0Michael Andre,\u00a0Jip van Assendelft,\u00a0Deacon Thomas,\u00a0Luc Boulier, and\u00a0Facundo Yunis.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two seniors were able to secure singles wins today. For\u00a0Michael Andre, his senior day win today marked his 40th career singles win with the Hoosiers. In doubles this season, Andre and his teammate\u00a0Matteo Antonescu\u00a0are currently ranked No. 37 and have a 10-3 record in dual matches.\u00a0Facundo Yunis\u00a0also secured himself a singles and doubles win today, earning him a 37-25 record in singles and a 43-22 record in doubles during his time with the Hoosiers.\u00a0 Indiana improves to 10-10 overall and 4-7 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers will finish the season on the road next weekend against Michigan and Michigan State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Men&#8217;s Golf Finishes 13th at the Robert Kepler Invitational <\/strong>\u00a0                                                                                                                                   The Indiana men&#8217;s golf team placed 13th at the 54th annual Robert Kepler Invitational with a score of 871 (288-293-290; +7). The two-day event was played at the Columbus Country Club over the weekend.  Junior\u00a0Cole Starnes\u00a0finished with his lowest score against par since the Windon Memorial Classic (Sept. 30, 2025) with a three-round score of 213 (68-76-69; -3). His t-19 finish is his best since he opened the season t-eighth at the Rod Meyers Invitational (Sept. 7, 2025). Starnes finished with 11 birdies.   Sophomore\u00a0Bradley Chill Jr.\u00a0played a steady tournament of 216 (73-71-72; E). He completed the three rounds with eight birdies.  Junior\u00a0Nick Piesen\u00a0shot a 218 (72-74-72; +2) with 10 birdies, which included five in the final round.   Junior\u00a0Alec Cesare\u00a0played six birdies for a final scorecard of 231 (76-78-77; +15).  Redshirt senior\u00a0Clay Merchent\u00a0was forced to withdraw due to injury before the third round started. Indiana will close the regular season as hosts of the Hoosier Collegiate. The tournament will be played from April 18-19 at the Pfau Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Water Polo Season Ends in MPSF Fifth-Place Game Loss to No. 5 Arizona State\u00a0<\/strong>                                                                              No. 12 Indiana water polo saw its 2026 season come to a close in an 18-12 loss to No. 5 (5-seed) Arizona State in the MPSF Championships fifth place game at Spieker Aquatic Center on Sunday.   After trailing 2-0 in the first, the Hoosier offense got started with goals from freshman\u00a0Audrina Kang\u00a0and junior Nancy Baylor Sefchick. They would keep the game in a 3-all tie at the end of one as junior Gwenyth Le beat the buzzer to end the frame. Senior\u00a0Grace Klingler\u00a0pulled Indiana (16-11) ahead on a goal in transition with five minutes remaining in the second quarter. Junior\u00a0Helga Terol Salvi\u00a0connected in the middle and bookended the quarter with another buzzer beater for IU, who faced a 10-7 deficit Arizona State&#8217;s lead stretched to four through three quarters (14-10). Senior\u00a0Savannah Batchelor\u00a0tacked on a pair in the fourth.  Kang and Batchelor had two drawn exclusions each.  Batchelor, Kang and Terol Salvi finished with a team-high two goals each. Klingler finished with a team-high four points with two assists and a goal.  Senior goalie\u00a0Jasmine Higgs\u00a0added five saves in cage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sophie Cunnigham Returns to the Indiana Fever after Signing a New Contract <\/strong>                                                                                                                                 An Indiana Fever fan favorite is returning to the team for the upcoming season.  The Fever announced on Sunday morning that guard Sophie Cunningham is coming back for her second season with the team after agreeing to a new deal with the franchise. It is a one-year deal, according to\u00a0multiple reports.  \u201cWe\u00a0are\u00a0thrilled to have Sophie back with the Fever and are grateful for her commitment to return and build on what we started a year ago,\u201d Fever Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Amber Cox said in a\u00a0press release.\u00a0\u201cNot only is\u00a0Sophie\u00a0one of the best three-point shooters in\u00a0the league, but\u00a0she\u00a0is an\u00a0exceptional\u00a0teammate,\u00a0both on and off the court. She plays with\u00a0infectious\u00a0energy\u00a0that\u00a0impacts not only our team, but our fanbase as well.\u201d\u00a0 Cunningham played in 30 regular season games during the 2025 season, averaging 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Her season though would ultimately be cut short due to a\u00a0knee injury. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year was Cunningham\u2019s first year as a member of the Fever. She had previously played for the Phoenix Mercury.  \u201cWe had a really special group last year and it was an incredible first season for me in Indy; I loved everything about my teammates and the Fever organization,\u201d Cunningham said in the press release. \u201cWe fought through a ton of adversity, and it was important to me that we have a chance to see through what we started. I have a feeling this is going to be another special season, so\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0excited to get things started and to, of course, keep playing in front of the best fans in the WNBA.\u00a0Let\u2019s\u00a0get spicy!\u201d Cunningham is the latest player from last year\u2019s roster that the Fever have re-signed this weekend. The other players include guard\u00a0Lexie Hull\u00a0and guard\u00a0Kelsey Mitchell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana Pacers End the Season with a Home Loss to the Detroit Pistons <\/strong>                                                                                                                                                      Paul Reed finished with 26 points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks and Tobias Harris scored 24 points in limited minutes Sunday, propelling\u00a0the Eastern Conference\u2019s top seeded Detroit Piston<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nba-playoffs-2026-d784318baa415d5d92f37450b4b6de40\">s<\/a>\u00a0past the Indiana Pacers 133-121.  Reed was 11 of 11 from the field and made all four of his free-throw  attempts on a night the Pistons shot nearly 70% from the field and from 3-point range in the first half. Harris was 9 of 12 from the field and 4 of 4 on 3s. Cade Cunningham flirted with a triple-double in the first half before finishing with seven points, eight rebounds and 14 assists.  The Pistons have won three straight and six of seven and posted their highest first-half scoring total of the season with 81 points.\u00a0Detroit earned its 60th victory\u00a0for the third time in franchise history and the first time since 2005-06.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obi Toppin and Quenton Jackson each scored 21 points to lead the Pacers, who closed the season with 19 wins \u2014 the lowest total in the franchise\u2019s NBA history. Before the game, All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton thanked fans for their support during a trying season, one in which he did not play because of the torn Achilles tendon he suffered early in Game 7 of last year\u2019s NBA Finals. He has participated recently in five-on-five workouts, has been shooting during pregame warmups and is on track to return next season.  The Pacers proved no match for Detroit, which wanted to build momentum heading into the postseason. And it didn\u2019t take long for the Pistons to pull away.  They took a 21-11 lead then used second quarter runs of 13-0 and 9-0 to take an 81-63 halftime lead before pulling out to a 90-66 lead early in the third.  The game was marred late when Pacers forward Jalen Slawson was ejected following a blindside collision with Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart, which resulted in a shouting match between the coaching staffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fishers Native Ty Harris Is Coming Back Home to Join the Indiana Fever <\/strong>                                                                                                                                   The Indiana Fever have signed point guard and Indianapolis native Tyasha \u201cTy\u201d Harris, adding veteran depth to the backcourt ahead of the 2026 season.  \u201cWe\u2019re excited to add Ty to our backcourt. She is a dynamic guard who will add depth to our rotation. She brings great experience, not only playing in the league, but for our coaching staff as well,\u201d said Fever COO and General Manager Amber Cox. \u201cOn a personal note, it\u2019s incredibly special to bring Ty back home to Indy where she will now be able to play in front of family and friends in a Fever jersey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited for this next chapter with the Indiana Fever. Being back in Indy means a lot to me, and I\u2019m grateful for the opportunity to join an organization that\u2019s building something special,\u201d Harris said. \u201cI\u2019m focused on continuing to grow, bringing energy every day, and doing whatever it takes to help this team win.\u201d  With five seasons of WNBA experience, Harris comes to Indiana having appeared in 172 games through stints at the Dallas Wings and Connecticut Sun, averaging 6.5 points per game across her career. Harris began her career with the Dallas Wings, drafted No. 7 overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft, spending three years in Texas before being traded to the Connecticut Sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her two years in Connecticut, Harris played under Indiana Fever Head Coach Stephanie White where she set new career highs in points per game (10.5), playing some of her best basketball since joining the league. Harris was traded back to Dallas in 2025 but saw the season cut short due to injury. In addition to her play in the WNBA, Harris has spent several offseasons overseas, including in China (Liaoning Flying Eagles), Russia (Nika Syktyvkar) and Turkey (Cankaya and Kayseri Basketbol).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harris spent her college years at the University of South Carolina where she helped the school win its first-ever NCAA National Championship in 2017. By the time Harris had left South Carolina she had set program records in games played (139) and had earned the 2020 SEC Female Athlete of the Year and the 2020 Dawn Staley Award, given to the nation\u2019s top point guard. As a Gamecock, Harris played two seasons with her new Fever teammate, Aliyah Boston, where they both helped South Carolina become the consensus No. 1 team in the nation in 2020.  Growing up in Fishers, Indiana, Harris\u2019 signing marks a return to her hometown for the first time in her career. Harris led Heritage Christian to three-straight state titles and is the school\u2019s all-time leading scorer with 2,004 career points, also holding school record in steals (487) and ranking third in assists (426).
