After the Black Key Bulls won the 75th Men’s Little 500 Saturday Afternoon at Bill Armstrong Stadium we knew who the top three finishers were after a last lap crash caused most of the field to be taken out and the race finished under caution. Black Key Bulls won their third straight Little 500 title and fifth overall with a time of 2 Hours 11 Minutes and 55 Seconds. Cinzano finished second 2 seconds behind, and Bears Cycling was third at 2:12:02 and they were on the podium after the race ended to receive their trophies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But what about the remaining 30 teams in the field? That had to be sorted out by the race officials and listening to protests after Chi Alpha and the Cutters collided going into the turn1 on the final lap and everyone behind them crashed and three teams that were on the podium escaped the crash and the caution came out freezing the field. It took race officials hours to look at all the video from the race and assess penalties to determine the official order of finish in race that no one expected to end the way it did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 The Race ended just before 5 PM Saturday Evening and just after 10 PM the official results were posted. Chi Alpha who caused the last lap crash finished 11th after being handed a 20 second penalty for impeding on the Lap 199 as they came out of the pits and merge into the oncoming riders who were going for the sprint to the finish and caused the chaos. Phi Delta Gamma finished 12th after being handed a one lap penalty for failing to make the minimum ten exchanges.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 11 Teams finished on the lead lap with Beta Sigma Psi fourth followed by Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Nu, Forest Cycling, Cutters, Delta Tau Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon rounding out the top ten. Human Wheels finished 13th a lap down followed by Godspeed, Legion, and Phi Delta Theta who were 2 laps down. CSF Cycling finished 16th followed by Blase Cycling, 3 PH, Grey Goat and Alpha Sigma Psi who were all 4 laps down.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chiefs finished 22nd followed by Alpha Kappa Psi who were five laps down. Acacia was 24th and IUDM Cycling 25th were six laps down. Theta Chi finish 26th 7 laps behind the winners. Novus Cycling finished 27th 8 laps down. Lamda Chi Alpha finished 29th followed by Americana and Phi Sigma Kappa all nine laps down. Phi Kappa Sigma finished 31st 9 laps down followed by Army Cycling who was 32nd 20 laps behind the winner and Avir Cycling in 33rd place 20 laps down. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
