Both bleacher areas will feature general admission seating for IU student ticket holders.\u00a0  This change will nearly double the number of court-level seats set aside for the IU students to approximately 1,200. Previously, IU students occupied only the south courtside bleachers, while the north courtside bleachers were utilized by general public season ticket holders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The change was inspired by feedback IU Athletics received from Indiana students in classes taught by IU Kelley School of Business instructors Rebecca Butters, Anna Deeds, and Clark Barwick.  \u201cWe are excited to continue making Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall the toughest road environment in all of college basketball,\u201d head men\u2019s basketball coach Darian DeVries said. \u201cWe appreciate all the support we have received from Hoosier Nation and look forward to seeing you all this season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIU students are the heartbeat of this campus, and they are a huge part of what makes gamedays special at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall,\u201d IU Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Dolson said. \u201cThis change recognizes and celebrates that by giving our students a huge percentage of the best seats at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.\u201d  IU students who purchased the 2026-27 Student Season Football and Men\u2019s Basketball Combo package will receive an email with an option to upgrade to either a north or south bleacher ticket package. If upgrade requests exceed availability, the IU Student Ticket Points Program will be used to determine eligibility based on accumulated point totals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Football Headed to the White House for National Championship Celebration <\/strong>                                                                                              Indiana football\u2019s national championship celebration is headed to Washington D.C.  The Hoosiers are set to visit the White House on Monday, May 11, a source confirmed to\u00a0The South-Central Indiana News Network. The tradition of championship sports teams visiting the White House and the president of the United States dates back to the 1800s. The undefeated Indiana men\u2019s basketball team in 1976 was the first men\u2019s college basketball team to attend a White House celebration; college football champions have gone to Washington since Alabama in 1961.  IU will become the latest group to visit the White House. The Hoosiers sealed their title on Jan. 19, 2026, with a 27-21 victory over Miami (Fla.), at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. This is the first of two prominent public appearances for IU head coach Curt Cignetti in May. He will also drive the pace car at the Indianapolis 500 on May 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Softball Takes Down Illinois in the Series Opener Indiana Takes Game One in Illinois Series<\/strong>                                                                              On a chilly May night, Indiana\u2019s bats edged Illinois on Friday night at Andy Mohr Field as the Hoosiers won 8-5 in game one of the series.  The win marks the third in a row and puts Indiana at 39-13 on the year and 15-7 in the Big Ten.  Illinois used a sacrifice fly and home run over the center field to go up 3-0 in the top of the first.  \u00a0Indiana countered in the bottom of the first with two runs scoring on a Josie Bird double to draw the score closer at 3-2.  \u00a0It didn\u2019t take long for Indiana to take the lead as in the bottom of the second. Brooke Mannon tied it at 3-3 when she scored on a groundout from Aly VanBrandt. Then, after Alex Cooper walked, Avery Parker hit a grand slam to make it 7-3.   Eileen Donahue\u2019s 2-run homer in the top of the fifth put the score closer, pushing it to 7-5.  \u00a0Indiana added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Peyton Drummond came home on a groundout from Josie Bird to make it 8-5.  Parker\u2019s grand slam marked her 53rd\u00a0of her career and her 19th\u00a0of the season. It was her third game in a row with a homer.  The win improved Troutt\u2019s record to 11-6 on the season. \u00a0Tonight\u2019s game was the first meeting between Indiana and Illinois since 2022. \u00a0The Hoosiers notched five stolen bases tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Baseball Flys the W at Wrigley Field <\/strong>                                                                                                                                                                       An awesome night of baseball at one of the sport&#8217;s most iconic venues saw the Indiana Baseball team (21-25, 7-15) pick up a big 9-2 victory over Northwestern (17-25-1, 5-17 B1G) on Friday evening at Wrigley Field. A pair of crooked numbers on the scoreboard helped push IU&#8217;s offense across the finish line to kick off the weekend series against the Wildcats.\u00a0Sophomore outfielder\u00a0Hogan Denny\u00a0set the tone in the first inning with a double in the gap to begin the contest. He and sophomore first baseman\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jake Hanley\u00a0each had three-hit days in the win. Freshman designated hitter\u00a0Owen ten Oever\u00a0continued his hot ways with two hits and three RBIs. Sophomore outfielder\u00a0Cole Decker\u00a0added a triple and a pair of RBIs.\u00a0Graduate student\u00a0Tony Neubeck\u00a0(W, 6-4) bounced back in a big way with his fifth quality start in Big Ten play this season. The veteran southpaw tossed six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. He threw 100 pitches and commanded the game with a mix of pitches for strikes. Graduate student right-handed pitcher\u00a0Reagan Rivera\u00a0(SV, 3) picked up the save after recording the final seven outs of the game.\u00a0Over the last three seasons, IU is 13-6 in the month of May during the regular season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indiana University Track and Field Closes Day 1 of the Jesse Owens Classic with High Performances <\/strong>                                                                                            The Indiana University track and field team finished the first day of the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday, May 1, with several high finishes as they head into the final stretch of the regular season. 11 Hoosiers finished inside the top five of their respective events with multiple personal bests being recorded on the day.  Assistant coach\u00a0Megan Tomei\u00a0said she, &#8220;told my athletes there will be people who PR today and there will be people who complain about the weather. Choose your destiny.&#8221;   &#8220;I thought they competed well. A couple were sick earlier in the week and came back strong. The highlight was from Nikos\u00a0(Sidirenios) who hit a nice PR. We&#8217;ve been working on being very disciplined throughout the throw. Much more to come from him and the others, but I&#8217;m happy with the direction it&#8217;s going. Progress is key.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Day one started with a personal best from\u00a0Nikolaos Sidirenios\u00a0in the men&#8217;s hammer throw. His mark of 62.84m finished third in the event and moves him to sixth on the all-time record list.  In the women&#8217;s hammer,\u00a0Bridget Beyer\u00a0also saw a third-place finish with her throw of 57.01 meters.  Rocklan Boisseau\u00a0saw a strong performance in the men&#8217;s javelin, throwing for a distance of 55.86 meters to finish third overall.  Kailen Kramer\u00a0closed out the day in the field with her finish in the women&#8217;s pole vault. Her height of 3.91m earned her a fifth-place finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the track, the day started with the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 400-meter hurdles. The Hoosiers saw third place finishes in both competitions, coming from\u00a0Ryann Parrish\u00a0(1:01.59) and\u00a0Tyler Tarter\u00a0(52.22).  Indiana saw three top 10 finishes in the women&#8217;s 1,500-meter.\u00a0Lily Myers\u00a0(4:27.13),\u00a0Michaela Quinn\u00a0(4:30.01), and\u00a0Catie McCabe\u00a0(4:31.18) each placed second, fifth, and seventh, respectively, in the competition.  Kiera Davis\u00a0and\u00a0Aliyah Johnson\u00a0stepped up in the women&#8217;s 200-meter, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, with\u00a0Omema Anyanwu\u00a0setting a personal best time of 25.15 in the fifth heat. In the men&#8217;s 200m,\u00a0Kalen Sargent\u00a0tied his personal best time of 21.03 to earn a fifth-place finish.  Tony Provenzano\u00a0closed out the night with the first event win of the weekend for the Hoosiers, running a time of 14:02.00 in the men&#8217;s 5,000-meter run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Former Indiana University Men&#8217;s Basketball Players Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson Get NBA G League Combine Invites <\/strong>                                                Indiana\u2019s Lamar Wilkerson and Tucker DeVries were invited to the 2026 NBA G League Draft Combine.  That\u2019s according to Jonathan Givony of Draft Express. The G League event is May 8-10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.  A select number of standout players from the NBA G League Draft Combine will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine the next day.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilkerson had a prolific scoring season for IU.\u00a0 He was one of three Hoosiers to start all 32 games and averaged a team-best 20.9 points per game and added 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.0 steals in 34.0 minutes per outing.  Wilkerson had the highest scoring average for an Indiana guard since 2007-08, an dthe 11th most total points scored in a single-season at Indiana (669 points).\u00a0 He upped his scoring average to 23.2 points per contest in Big Ten Conference play and scored the most Big Ten points per game by a Hoosier since 1970-71 (George McGinnis).  He shot 46.3% (227-of-490) from the field, 37.8% (104-of-275) from the 3-point line, and 88.8% (111-of-125) from the free throw line.\u00a0 Wilkerson was the second Indiana player (Steve Alford; 1986-87) to make at least 100 3-pointers in a season.\u00a0 He set the single-season IU record with 70 made 3-pointers in Big Ten play.\u00a0 Wilkerson scored 10-plus points in 29 games, 20-plus 16 times, 30-plus in four games, and netted 40-plus points twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeVries also played in all 32 games and averaged 13.7 points, a team-best 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 34.2 minutes per game.\u00a0 He shot 39.7% (144-of-363) from the floor, 33.3% (82-of-246) from the 3-point line, and 85.9% (67-of-78) from the free throw line. DeVries scored at least 15 points in 14 games, grabbed five or more rebounds in 18 games, handed out five or more assists 10 times, made multiple 3-pointers in 23 contests, and posted a team-high three double-doubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s the full list of G League and NBA combine invites, per Givony. This was the 12th consecutive win at Fishers Event Center for the Ignite.\u00a0  After dropping two of the first three sets, the Ignite roared back to take the match, 25-22, 20-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-13.  Ignite coach Lauren Bertolacci said in a news release, \u201cWe said in the locker room that we&#8217;re playing to get the record today and we put a team out there that we believed we could do that with, I&#8217;m super pumped, it was one of the most fun games of the season. That was our first five-setter at home, so it was really exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ignite rookie Emma Halter finished with 20 digs, five assists and a 76 percent positive reception rate.
