\u00a0 The IHSAA Announced the Parings for the 51st annual Girls State Tennis Tournament Sunday Evening as 309 Schools around the State of Indiana prepare for a quick turnaround with the Sectionals starting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 The Sectionals will start Tuesday and continue through Saturday with each host school determining the days and times for tournament. The Regionals will be held May 26-27. The Semi State will be held May 30, and the State Finals are set for June 5-6 at North Central HS In Indianapolis.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 Bloomington South and Edgewood will meet in the opener of the Bloomington South Sectional on Tuesday Night with the winner advancing to the Semifinal on Wednesday to face Brown County. Bloomington North and Owen Valley will meet in the other semifinal with the Championship\u00a0Match scheduled for Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 It is set up for a final between Bloomington North and Bloomington South as is the case almost every year as these two always meet at some point during the Sectional with the winner taking home the title and headed to the Regional and\u00a0that will be the expectation this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0Bloomington South has won the last two Sectional Titles and 19 overall dating back to 1975. Bloomington North has won 18 Sectional Titles dating back to 1976.\u00a0 Owen Valley has won four Sectional titles in 1999, 2000, 2010 and 2011. Brown County and Edgewood are looking for their first sectional title.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0With the exception of 2020 when the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the last time Bloomington Schools did not win the sectional was 2010 and the only other time since 2000 the Bloomington schools did not win a sectional was 2008. So, the road to the sectional title always goes through Bloomington regardless of which side of the city you are on.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 There are an Individual State Tournament for Singles and Doubles that will begin May 26-28, at 16 Sites around the states. Regionals will be June 6, at North Central HS In Indianapolis and the State Finals will be June 12-13, at Park Tudor School in Indianapolis.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
