Kickoff Times and Television set for early weeks of 2026 IU Football Season<\/strong> The Big Ten Conference and its media partners revealed today the kickoff times and television designations for the early weeks of the 2026 season. The reigning national champion Indiana Hoosiers open the year with three nonconference home games.\u00a0 Here are the kickoff times and television details for those games, along with the first two Big Ten games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sept. 5, North Texas \u2014 Noon, FOX Sept. 12, Howard \u2014 Noon, BTN Sept. 19, Western Kentucky \u2014 4 p.m., Peacock Sept. 25, Northwestern \u2014 8 p.m., FOX (Friday) Oct. 3, Rutgers \u2014 8 p.m. (TV TBD)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kickoff times and television designations not announced today will be determined and distributed according to the 12-\/6-day in-season selection process. The Oct. 31 home game against Minnesota has been designated as Indiana\u2019s homecoming game.\u00a0 Rutgers has picked the Indiana game for its homecoming. Indiana carries a 16-game overall winning streak, 15-game home winning streak, and an 11-game Big Ten winning streak into the 2026 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indiana and Syracuse Men’s Basketball to Square Off in Indianapolis<\/strong> The Indiana men’s basketball program will meet Syracuse on Monday, Nov. 9, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip time and television designation will be announced at a later date. The matchup will be the eighth between the Hoosiers and the Orange. Indiana claimed the first meeting by a score of 74-73 in the 1987 NCAA Championship game (March 30, 1987). Syracuse has won the last six contests, including a 61-50 result in the 2013 NCAA Sweet Sixteen (March 28, 2013). Syracuse (2,022 wins) and Indiana (1,968) both rank in the top-12 of all-time collegiate victories. Both programs rank inside the top-20 in championship game appearances, Final Four appearances, NCAA Tournament appearances, and March Madness victories. Tickets will be available through Gainbridge Fieldhouse beginning on Thursday, June 4.

Indiana University Men’s Tennis Players Michael Andre & Matteo Antonescu to Compete for Chance at U.S. Open<\/strong> The USTA announced the field of standout American collegiate players that will compete for entry into the US Open at the American Collegiate Player Wildcard Playoffs set to be held at the USTA National Campus’ Collegiate Center June 16-18. Of those players, Indiana’s doubles duo of\u00a0Michael Andre\u00a0and\u00a0Matteo Antonescu\u00a0was selected. Should they win the doubles draw, they will have qualified for the U.S. Open. Six wild card entries into the 2026 US Open (four singles, two doubles) will be awarded via the second-year playoff event. The winners of the four-player men’s and women’s singles playoff and four-team men’s and women’s doubles playoff will earn US Open main draw singles and doubles wild cards, respectively, while the men’s and women’s singles finalists will earn US Open Qualifying wild cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full fields are below, listed by the schools with which each player or team competed in 2025-26. Players appearing in bold automatically qualified based on having reached the finals of the NCAA Singles or Doubles Championships in the fall. The remaining selections were made based on a number of criteria, including 2025-26 match record, ITA ranking, ATP\/WTA ranking, professional and head-to-head results, and more. Andre and Antonescu went 19-7 on the year as a doubles duo and compiled a 13-4 record in dual matches. Within Big Ten play, the team went 8-2. When playing at No. 1 doubles, they were 6-2 and they also went 7-2 at No. 2 doubles. All singles and doubles matches will be played with a best-of-three-set format featuring regular scoring, with a 10-point tiebreak at 6-all in the third set. Admission to the event is free. Cracked Racquets will provide streaming coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elise Eves Signs with Indiana University Field Hockey<\/strong> Indiana Field Hockey coach\u00a0Kayla Bashore\u00a0announced the signing of Elise Eves on Tuesday morning. Eves is the fourth signee of the program’s 2026 class alongside\u00a0Elle Obenour, Helen Grahe and Jessie Mauro. Eves will arrive in Bloomington in August. Eves is a Schwenksville, Pa. native and attended Boyertown Area High School. She played for head coach Alicia Terrizzi and assistant coach Kyle Shellaway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a midfielder and played for the WC Eagles club team for coach Jun Kentwell. In her junior and senior seasons, she totaled 19 goals and 29 assists for 67 points. Throughout her high school career, she was a two-time All-State selection, a three-time All-Area and three-time All-Conference pick. Eves was also a two-time NFHCA Academic Athlete and PHSFHCA Academic Athlete. For Boyertown Area High, she helped lead the team to two conference championships. With her club, she was a seven-time USA Field Hockey NIT Champion. Eves was ranked in the MAX Field Hockey Top 100 for the 2026 class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At IU, she intends to major in Exercise Science. She is the daughter of Joh and Karen Eves and has one sister, Lauren. Why She Picked IU:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>“I picked IU because it felt like a place where I could challenge myself, meet new people, and become the best version of myself on and off the field. IU offers strong and well-rounded athletic and academic programs that will allow me to jump start my career as well as continue to play the sport I love.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indy Ignite return 12 players from record-setting squad, add hitter from Switzerland for 2027 MLV season<\/strong> After a historic season, the\u00a0Indy Ignite\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>are looking to relight the flame for the 2027 season with\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>almost the exact same roster! Indy’s 2026 roster was stacked with talent that earned multiple\u00a0<\/a>All-Major League Volleyball First team honors, the MLV Most Valuable Player award and the MLV Coach of the Year award. Now, they’re coming back next season to chase the 2027 MLV Championship with some added power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside hitter Tia Scambray is new to the MLV, but she’s a familiar face to head coach Lauren Bertolacci. In Switzerland, she played six seasons for Bertolacci at Viteos NUC, where winning was no stranger for her. Scambray’s professional career in Switzerland was highlighted by four MVP awards, 16 titles, several top scorer honors and a seventh straight league championship for Viteos NUC. \u201cOur focus this season was building through continuity. We believe sustained success comes from investing in people over multiple years and creating an environment where athletes can grow together. We\u2019ve established a strong foundation for the future, and I\u2019m confident the players we\u2019ve retained will continue to develop and elevate our program,” Bertolacci said. \u201cWe added a piece in Tia Scambray, who has championship experience and has worked with me for many seasons. She is a fierce competitor, an elite all-round player and exactly the right personality to help lead this group into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recorded her best match of the season against Columbus on May 1, leading the team in kills (20) and points (24). Emma Clothier, middle blocker:\u00a0<\/strong>Joined Indy in April to help fill injury-depleted middle blocker position. Played in six matches with season best of seven kills and nine points at Orlando on April 23.\u00a0 Cara Cresse, middle blocker:\u00a0<\/strong>Played in 14 matches in her first season, scoring in double figures six times. Finished the season totaling 84 kills and 28 blocks.\u00a0 Anna DeBeer, outside hitter:\u00a0Played in 43 matches over past two seasons and ranks third in franchise history in kills (401), tied for second in service aces (25) and fourth in digs (287). Career-best 25 kills against Atlanta in May 2025. Has 11 career double-doubles (kills-digs).\u00a0 Emma Halter, libero: Indianapolis native played part-time role in rookie season this year, starting one match May 1 against Columbus when she recorded 20 digs.\u00a0 Camryn Hannah, opposite hitter: Joined Ignite this season after playing for Vegas in 2025. Played in 20 matches for Indy this season, starting in 10. Tallied double-digit kills in five matches, topped by season-best 20 at Atlanta on February 21. Kayla Lund, outside hitter: Joined Ignite this season after playing for San Diego in 2025. Also played for Indy head coach Lauren Bertolacci in Switzerland in 2022-23. Played in 22 matches for Ignite this season, starting seven but most often used as sparkplug off the bench. Had amazing match April 9 at San Diego when she totaled 26 digs (second most for Ignite player this season) to go along with 14 kills (equaling her season high set two other times). Lydia Martyn, middle blocker: Named 2026 MLV Middle Blocker of the Year despite sitting out 10 matches due to injury and load management. Finished second in 2026 MLV kill percentage (49.8%), fourth in efficiency (35.5%) and sixth in blocks (49). Set MLV record with 11 blocks in January 17 match at Columbus. Ignite career franchise leader with 94 blocks. Blake Mohler, middle blocker:\u00a0Was having best pro season and named to MLV All-Star Team when knee injury and subsequent surgery ended her season in March. Has played in 28 matches over two seasons with Indy, totaling 145 kills, 46 blocks and 69 digs. Elena Scott, libero: Named 2026 MLV Libero of the Year after quickly establishing herself as one of league\u2019s most versatile players. Has played in all 59 Ignite matches over last two seasons, leading team in digs both years (406 in 2025, 387 in 2026). Recorded a season-high and MLV Championship record with 27 digs against Omaha in 2026 semifinals. Azhani Tealer, opposite hitter: Named to All-MLV First Team both seasons with Ignite, with added honor as Opposite Hitter of the Year in 2026. Set MLV single-match records with 31 kills and 35 points against Omaha in March 2025. Led Ignite in kills and points in both 2025 (411, 492) and 2026 (318, 355). Second in franchise history in aces (25) and blocks (93).\u00a0 Mia Tuaniga, setter: Joined Ignite this season from Atlanta and immediately became driving force behind one of most potent offenses in MLV. Named MLV Most Valuable Player and Setter of the Year this season. Finished second in league with 11.49 assists per set (total of 1,174 including postseason), along with 239 digs, team-high 25 aces, 62 kills (on 39.8% efficiency) and 16 blocks. Indianapolis Colts Quaterback Daniel Jones shares injury update, confident he\u2019ll be back Week 1<\/strong> \u00a0 Six months after tearing his Achilles tendon during Week 14 of last season, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is working back to full strength as he begins offseason OTAs. Week 1 of the Colts\u2019 season begins in under four months, and Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Jones is \u201con schedule\u201d to make a full recovery before September 13th\u2019s season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. \u201cIt\u2019s awesome to see him out here with the guys,\u201d Steichen said. \u201cHe\u2019s working his tail off every day, rehabbing like crazy. I mean, he lives in this building. It\u2019s good to see him out here doing individual work with the guys, being around the guys, getting the walk-through reps. That parts been really good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight now, he\u2019s on schedule,\u201d Steichen said. \u201cHe\u2019s doing everything he can in his power. I mean, he\u2019s here all day, every day rehabbing \u2013 to see him out here throwing, dropping back, going through individual drills, all that stuff has been really good.\u201d As the Colts continue through the heart of the offseason, Jones said he\u2019s continued to improve in his rehab journey, and he\u2019s begun ramping up his mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a good process so far, I\u2019m six months into it, feeling good,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI\u2019ve been here working hard with our trainers, strength staff here, and it\u2019s going well. It\u2019s good to be back and just be around, be with the guys, be out on the field. Obviously not doing everything yet, but just being out here has been fun.\u201d \u201cThere\u2019s definitely still work to be done and progress to be made,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI think it\u2019s just continuing to get stronger, continuing to run faster, cut harder, and progress kind of according to the program, but it\u2019s been good. I think we\u2019ve hit all of our marks so far, and we\u2019ll continue to do that.\u201d Jones was asked if he expects to be back and ready to play by Week 1. \u201cAbsolutely,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Coach Steichen, the way Jones has attacked his rehab process has come as no surprise. At Tuesday\u2019s practice, Steichen spoke highly of the way Jones continues to work every day to get his body back to 100%. \u201cI\u2019m actually not surprised, just because of the way he [Jones] works,\u201d Steichen said. \u201cWhen you rehab like he rehabs and put in the work that he [Jones] does, it\u2019s pretty impressive. People talk about injuries and what\u2019s the fastest way to recover, and it\u2019s by doing the rehab process. He\u2019s relentless at that, and he\u2019s done a heck of a job at it.\u201d The Colts Organized Team Activities began Wednesday at the Colts training facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Quartet of Taylor Trojans Collect NAIA All-American Honors in Track and Field <\/strong> The Taylor outdoor track and field team wrapped up their season at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Asheville, North Carolina last week. A quartet of Trojans earn NAIA All-American Honors in the event with incredible performances. \u00a0 The women had a trio of NAIA All-Americans, led by Kiana Siefert who began the competition with an outstanding performance in the long jump, finishing fifth and recording a personal best leap of 19 feet four inches. Sam Patterson then collected her first All-American nod in the steeplechase with Malarie Pinwar was the final women to earn All-American status with an eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meters. The men had a pair of athletes deliver runner-up finishes with Jared Stayte in the steeplechase running a career-best 9:04.45 and Joel Mumaw in the 1,500-meters, which allowed Taylor to finish in 16th. \u00a0In order to receive NAIA All-American recognition, an athlete or relay must advance to the finals at the NAIA National Championships and record a top-eight finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
