The 18th Annual Indiana All Star Boys Basketball Classic will take place this Friday at the OC Lewis Gymnasium at the Kardatzke Wellness Center on the Campus of Anderson University.\u00a039 Juniors and 41 Freshman and Sophomores from around the State of Indiana are scheduled to participate as 80 of the Top Boys Basketball Underclassman showcase their talents to Fans and College Coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 There will be 4 Boys Games with two Juniors games starting at Noon and 2 PM followed by two futures games at 4:30 PM and 6::30 PM. \u00a0 \u00a0 “Looking forward to year 18 for our Event at Anderson University” Steven Stremming Said.\u00a0 The event started at New Castle High School, relocated to Anderson University and has been a staple on the Father\u2019s Day Weekend Calendar ever since. ” Anderson University has been a critical element for our event success and we are pleased to return and of course the coverage that is provided around the state\u201d Stremming Said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Teams will be divided into the White and Red Teams with the Red Team being the Home Team on the Scoreboard for each game. In the First Juniors Game at Noon the White Team will be TJ Davis from Indianapolis Shortridge, Trey Bennett from Frankton, Jayvon Irby from Fort Wayne South, Zion See from Peru, Kendrick Martin from Liberty Christian, Trey Page from Sheridan, Nash Sigmund from Decatur Central, Kellen Crim from Morristown, Aiden Schaumburg from Rossville and Jeremiah Bellamy from Lawrence Central with Head Coach Norman Anderson, Liberty Christian. With the changing landscape of College Sports and more changes to come Stremming sees how important this event is to the future of young athletes looking to get to the next level. “Our team saw the changes the NCAA were about to make years ago, so it’s important more than ever, to present our student athletes for college coaches both Girls and Boys to evaluate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With Division 1 programs using the transfer portal to rebuild their rosters each season Stemming uses this event as way for the players and smaller colleges to be seen and evaluate talent. “D1 power 5 Coaches are only recruiting five- and four-star high school athletes, Junior college athletes, and using the transfer portal to their advantage” Stremming Said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
