Agustina Gamonal Signs with Indiana University Field Hockey<\/strong> Indiana Field Hockey coach\u00a0Kayla Bashore\u00a0announced the signing of Agustina Gamonal on Tuesday. Gamonal is the seventh signee of the program’s 2026 class alongside\u00a0Elle Obenour, Helen Grahe, Jessie Mauro, Elise Eves, Gabriela Garayo Aranceta and Karly Redman. Gamonal will arrive in Bloomington in August. She plays forward and is a native of Santiago, Chile and attended Colegio Santa Cruz de Chicureo. In Chile, she played for the club Alumni Hockey and under club coach Paula Infante. Gamonal has been playing for the club since she was 15. Her outstanding play earned her a spot on Chile’s Junior National Team. At IU, she intends to major in Marketing\/Design. She is the daughter of Daniela Alamo and Robinson Gamonal and has two sisters named Amalia Gamonal and Magdalena Gamonal. Why She Picked IU:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>“I chose Indiana University because of its strong academic programs, competitive field hockey program, and the opportunity to grow both as a student and as an athlete. ‘Little Five’ film to tell story of first women’s Little 500 and how you can take part in the Filming in Bloomington <\/strong> The largest collegiate bicycle race in the country will soon be the topic of a second feature film, Deadline reported Monday. The\u00a0outlet reported Monday\u00a0Rain Spencer from “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and Ariana Greenblatt from “Barbie” will star in “Little Five,” about the\u00a0Little 500 bicycle race\u00a0at Indiana University.\u00a0 Anne Hathaway’s production company Somewhere Pictures will produce “Little Five” along with Indiana-based Pigasus Pictures.\u00a0The film, which will be directed by Ian Samuels, is reportedly set at IU in the 1980s and follows four women who team up to participate in the race. Deadline says the film is “inspired by true events,” which Pigasus Pictures revealed was the first women’s Little 500 race in 1988.\u00a0 The Little 500, which marked 75 years this spring, first hit the big screen in 1979’s Oscar-winning “Breaking Away,” which combined a story of teenage townies navigating their way into adulthood with\u00a0IU student Dave Blase’s performance\u00a0to help his team win the real-life race in 1962. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pigasus Pictures\u00a0<\/strong>announced the film last week, putting out a call for extras to fill IU’s Bill Armstrong Stadium, where the race is held, as well as Assembly Hall and downtown Bloomington, where the crew will recreate the Hoosiers’ 1987 NCAA men’s basketball championship.\u00a0 The production company\u00a0shared a form for potential extras\u00a0in the film to fill out, looking for people who can be available in Bloomington between July 19 and Aug. 12.\u00a0Among the requests for possible extras is the willingness “to obtain an 80s style haircut,” including mullets and longer hair on men, and access to a drivable car from before 1987.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark \u2018very hopeful\u2019 to return in Tonight’s game at the Los Angeles Sparks<\/strong> Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has missed the last two games with a back injury, but on Tuesday, she said she\u2019s hopeful to play at some point during Indiana\u2019s back-to-back starting this evening. The Fever open their road back-to-back tonight against the Los Angeles Sparks, followed by the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday. \u201cGetting back into it, I\u2019d assume I\u2019d be on a minutes restriction tomorrow,\u201d Clark said. \u201cHopefully a little over 20 [minutes] if I\u2019m able to go, and I feel I will be. Hopefully, practice goes well today. With it being a back-to-back, it\u2019s tough to jump right in, but I\u2019m hoping to feel good after the game vs. L.A., be available in Vegas, and feel positive once we\u2019re back home as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the Fever had a week-long break before Wednesday\u2019s game, Clark hasn\u2019t played in over two weeks. While she didn\u2019t fully commit to suiting up tonight, she said she\u2019s \u201cvery hopeful for this game\u201d against the Sparks. \u201cI think it\u2019ll be difficult for me to play both Wednesday and Thursday, but we\u2019ll see,\u201d Clark said. \u201cI\u2019m feeling great, everything has been good up to this point. Hopefully, we have another great day of practice, and I\u2019m ready for tomorrow.\u201d Earlier this week, Clark was named a WNBA All-Star Game starter, alongside center Aliyah Boston and guard Kelsey Mitchell. Clark is averaging a career-high 21.2 points per game this season, along with 4.0 rebounds and a team-high 8.2 assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indianapolis Colts Announce 2026 Tony Dungy and Harriet P. Irsay Fellows<\/strong> The Indianapolis Colts have announced\u00a0Shea Pitts\u00a0as the\u00a0Tony Dungy Fellow\u00a0and\u00a0Isabel Diaz\u00a0and\u00a0Nadine Nurasyid\u00a0as the\u00a0Harriet P. Irsay Fellows\u00a0for the 2026 season. Pitts\u00a0will assist with the Colts defense. He most recently served as a defensive graduate assistant at UCLA from 2023-26. Pitts was a Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow for the Green Bay Packers (2025) and Kansas City Chiefs (2024). As a player, he participated in rookie mini-camp with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. Pitts played in 42 career games at linebacker and defensive back at UCLA (2017-22) and compiled 25 tackles (19 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble. He was named to the PAC 12 All-Academic Team in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Pitts earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in management (2021), a master’s degree of education in transformative coaching and leadership (2022) and a master’s degree of legal studies (2023) from UCLA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diaz, the inaugural Harriet P. Irsay Fellow in 2023, will continue to assist with special teams. She participated in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Washington Commanders during the 2022 offseason and training camp. Diaz assisted primarily with the defensive backs. She has also participated in the NFL Women’s Forum multiple times at the NFL Scouting Combine. Prior to the NFL, Diaz served in a variety of roles at Oklahoma State. She was an undergraduate assistant for the defense from 2021-23, where she assisted with the scout team, created practice scripts, helped with game planning and charted plays on game day. From 2019-2021, Diaz was a videographer for the football and women’s soccer programs. She filmed game days for both teams as well as practice for football. Diaz earned her bachelor’s degree in sport & coaching science with a minor in sport management from Oklahoma State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nurasyid\u00a0will assist with the defensive backs. She has 10 years of coaching experience with the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football (2024-26), the Munich Cowboys of the German Football League (2018-23) and the Straubing Spiders of the German Football League 2 (2017-18). As head coach and defensive coordinator with the Cowboys, Nurasyid was named the GFL Coach of the Year in 2022. She was the first female head coach of a first league men’s team. Nurasyid has also served as defensive backs coach for the German National Team (2022-24). In 2025, she was a Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during training camp. Nurasyid earned master’s degrees in health sciences as well as sport & exercise science from the Technical University of Munich. She also earned her bachelor’s degree from the Technical University of Munich in biology and chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Tony Dungy Fellowship Program\u00a0affords coaching candidates the opportunity to gain valuable experience as they progress in their careers. The fifth-year program provides the Colts with access to talented coaches. The fellowship is named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Dungy, the winningest head coach in Colts history, who became the first Black head coach to win a Super Bowl after leading Indianapolis to a victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. The\u00a0Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football Program\u00a0affords a fellowship in a football operations department or coaching. The fellowship is named in honor of Harriet P. Irsay, the late grandmother of Colts Owner & CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Owner & Executive Vice President Casey Foyt and Owner & Chief Brand Officer Kalen Jackson. The fourth-year program provides the Colts with access to high potential candidates to contribute to their football operation. The goal of both programs is to create a pipeline of qualified employees that have successfully completed this program to be considered for future more senior positions with Indianapolis and other NFL clubs. Qualified candidates for both positions were evaluated and interviewed by a selection committee composed of the Irsay family, General Manager Chris Ballard, Head Coach Shane Steichen and other members of the Colts coaching staff and football operations team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indianapolis Indians Take Down the Toledo Mudhens in the Series Opener <\/strong> Cameron Barstad, who was today signed by Pittsburgh to a minor league contract, hit a three-run go-ahead home run in the fifth inning as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, 9-3, on Tuesday night at Victory Field. With the score tied 1-1 in the fifth frame, Jesus Castillo singled with one out and Nick Cimillo drew a walk, setting up Barstad for a 401-foot bomb to give the Indians (8-5, 39-49) a lead they did not relinquish. In his homecoming to Indianapolis, Tigers top prospect and Franklin High School Graduate Max Clark led off the game with a home run to give Toledo (8-5, 42-45) an instant advantage. Indy rallied for a run in the bottom half of the first on two hits and an RBI groundout from Castillo. The game then remained scoreless until Barstad left the yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gage Workman hit a solo shot for the Mud Hens in the sixth to cut the deficit, 4-2, before the Indians punched back on an RBI groundout from Jhostynxon Garcia in the bottom of the stanza. Termarr Johnson singled home two runs in the seventh and Garcia brought P.J. Hilson to the plate later in the inning for a 9-2 lead. Toledo added one run in the ninth inning to conclude the scoring. Connor Wietgrefe (W, 1-2) allowed just the leadoff homer across 5.0 innings, picking up his first Triple-A win. Sawyer Gipson-Long allowed one run across 3.2 innings for the Mud Hens, with Brenan Hanifee (L, 2-3) allowing the next three scores. The Indians and Mud Hens continue their six-game series tonight at 7:05 PM. RHP Noah Davis (1-7, 4.55) takes the mound for Indianapolis and RHP Carl Edwards Jr. (3-6, 7.41) will toe the rubber for Toledo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim Irsay Collection Memorabilia Auction Sets Record with $105 Million in Sales<\/strong> The Jim Irsay Collection auction series achieved a total of $105,266,766 across five auctions,\u00a0Christie\u2019s in New York announced Monday. It marked the largest sale total in history for memorabilia and celebrated the 250th anniversary of the United States. The auction series saw almost 30 records set across 404 lots sold. The final auction, named The Irsay Collection: Icons of History, ended with the sale of the original working manuscript of Alcoholics Anonymous, known as the \u201cBig Book,\u201d for $2,393,000 to the Stepping Stones Foundation. The \u201cBig Book\u201d is historically significant as it initiated the 12-step recovery movement. The purchase by the Stepping Stones Foundation ensures the manuscript returns to the house of one of its authors, the late Bill Wilson, whose home the nonprofit manages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds from the sale of the Alcoholics Anonymous working manuscript will be donated to philanthropic causes close to the heart of the late Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts. The top item in the final sale was a letter from George Washington to Thomas Jefferson transmitting a draft copy of the Constitution for Jefferson\u2019s review, which sold for $2,759,000. Other notable sales included a Stone Copy of the Declaration of Independence, considered the most accurate of early facsimiles, selling for $2,027,000. A pair of tickets to Ford\u2019s Theatre, stamped for the night of Lincoln\u2019s assassination, sold for $330,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disney On Ice’s ‘Magic in the Stars’ coming to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in 2027<\/strong> Advance tickets are now on sale for the\u00a0Disney on Ice’s\u00a0“Magic in the Stars” show coming to Indianapolis in 2027. The performance will feature figure skating, acrobatics, stunts and 56 different characters. It runs from Wednesday, Jan 20, 2027, to Sunday, Jan. 24, 2027, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.\u00a0 While advance tickets are available now, tickets for the general public go on sale Tuesday, July 14.\u00a0The show will feature Disney’s classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy.
