Indianapolis Colts Host New York Jets for Thursday Night Football<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indianapolis Colts Host the New York Jets tonight at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for Thursday Night Football 8:20 PM on FOX and the NFL Network. The Colts come in 3-5 after 34-31 overtime loss at home to the Tennessee Titans Sunday. The Colts are 1-3 at home and trail the Tennessee Titans by 3 games in the AFC South Division.  The New York Jets are 2-5 and are coming off a 34-31 home win against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. Quarterback Mike White was 37-45 for 405 yards 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in his first career start. White was the 171st<\/sup> pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys and played his college ball at Western Kentucky. White replaced Zach Wilson who was injured against the New England Patriots October 24th<\/sup> in a 54-13 loss. White threw for 202 yards passing and was 20-32 with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Wilson was drafted with the 2nd<\/sup> pick in 2021 NFL Draft out of BYU and was 104-181 passing with 1,168 yards, 4 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Former Indiana Hoosier Tevin Coleman had played four games for the Jets and questionable for tonight\u2019s game with a hamstring injury. Coleman has 21 carries for 73 yards and caught 2 passes for 3 yards and yet to score a touchdown. Coleman was drafted in the 3rd<\/sup> of round of the 2015 NFL Draft with 73rd<\/sup> pick overall by the Atlanta Falcons and has 24 rushing and 12 receiving touchdowns in his NFL Career.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomington North Girls Basketball Opens Season at Northview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomington North Girls Basketball will open its season tonight when the face the Northview Knights on the road at 7:30 PM. The Cougars are coming off a 6-17 season and are looking for its first winning season since 2010-11 season when they were 15-8. Head Coach Jeff Turmail is in his 5th<\/sup> season at Bloomington North and has 24-68 record. Northview is 0-1 on the season losing Tuesday Night at Mooresville 56-36. Zach Keyes is 80-62 in his 7th<\/sup> year at Northview.  The Knights were 11-6 last years and Keyes has led the Knights to two Sectional Championships in 2017 and 2019. Northview beat Bloomington North 67-58 at Bloomington North on November 5th<\/sup>, 2020. Edgewood started off the season with a 46-22 win at West Vigo Tuesday Night. Edgewood will travel to Greencastle this Saturday Night for 7:30 PM Matchup with the Lady Tiger Cubs who play at Western Boone this evening.  Lighthouse Christian lost at Eastern Greene 90-13 Tuesday Night and will travel to North Daviess this evening form 6 PM matchup with the Lady Cougars. Bloomington South will start its season on Saturday afternoon when they Host Pike at 2:30 PM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ball State Football Beats Akron 31-25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ball State Football beat Akron 31-25 on the road in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network Tuesday night. Ball State is 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in the Mid-American West Division. Ball State lead 28-10 with 6:41 to go in the third quarter but the Zips scored twice in the 4th<\/sup> quarter to make it 28-25 with 9:57 left to go in the game. Ball State sealed the win with 31-yard field goal from Jake Chanove with 7:06 left in the game. Akron was driving in the final minute in a half when Quarterback Zach Gibson fumbled the ball at the 1-yard line and Ball State\u2019s Bryce Cosby recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchback. Ball State Quarterback Drew Plitt was 18-31 passing for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 45 yards as the Zips defense had a hard time stopping the Cardinals running game. Carson Steele who was 2020 Indiana Mr. Football out of Center Grove HS in Greenwood Indiana had 27 carries for 154 yards and caught his 1st<\/sup> career receiving touchdown on 5-yard pass from Plitt for his only catch of the night. Justin Hall had 8 receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 30 yards on 4 carries and a touchdown. Ball State Travel to Northern Illinois next Wednesday Night to face the MAC West Division Leaders who are 6-2 and 4-0 in the Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indianapolis Indians Announce 2022 Baseball Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indianapolis Indians announced that the organization will begin its 120th season on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals) at Victory Field. The 144-game slate welcomes the return of six-game series, includes 72 home games, and features home dates on Mother\u2019s Day (May 8) and the Fourth of July. The regular season is set for completion on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Every series \u2013 aside from two three-game home sets against the St. Paul Saints (Minnesota Twins) \u2013 will be six games. Of the Indians\u2019 144 games, 108 will be against Midwest Division opponents while the other 36 are against the Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox), Gwinnett Stripers (Atlanta Braves), Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals) and Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers) from the Southeast Division and Rochester Red Wings (Washington Nationals) from the Northeast Division. The Indians haven\u2019t hosted Omaha in a season opener since 1992 while 2018 is the most recent year Indy opened a season at Victory Field. Indianapolis\u2019 schedule features 12 home dates apiece in April, May and June, nine in July, 18 in August and nine in September. The Indians host the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds) on Mother\u2019s Day and Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs) on the Fourth of July. Indy also has 12 home dates apiece on Fridays and Saturdays. The Indians host the Triple-A affiliates of three National League Central Division rivals a combined 30 times, with Iowa (July 4, July 6-10, Aug. 16-21), Louisville (May 3-8, Aug. 2-7) and Memphis (June 21-26) all making the trek to the Circle City. Indianapolis plays road series at Charlotte (May 10-15), Gwinnett (June 14-19) and Nashville (June 28-July 3) but does not host any of the three at Victory Field.  The longest stretch at Victory Field is a 12-game homestand against Iowa (Aug. 16-21) and Rochester (Aug. 23-28). The final homestand of the season is a nine-game set against the Toledo Mud Hens (Sept. 13-18) and St. Paul (Sept. 19-21). In addition to the schedule release, the Indians also released home game times (subject to change) with most night games beginning at 7:05 PM and most day games beginning at 1:35 PM.
