Sealed Water Bottles: Fans are permitted to bring one sealed, clear, non-glass water bottle into the stadium. The safety seal must be unbroken upon entry. Refillable Containers: Spectators may bring one empty, refillable non-glass water container into the stadium. IU Athletics has multiple free water refill stations located on both the east and west concourses. Unless we communicate otherwise, standard gameday policies (no outside food/drink and no outside containers) will return for next week’s game against Northwestern. Attendees are strongly encouraged to drink plenty of water before, during, and after the game. Game-day weather is forecasted to be partly cloudy and warm, with temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 80s.

Indiana University Football to be without Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt for Today’s Game against Western Kentucky Indiana football will not have defensive ends Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt available this weekend as they continue to pursue a fifth season of eligibility in the courts. The news comes via ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “Indiana’s Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt are not expected to be eligible this weekend as they await a judge’s injunction ruling,” Thamel wrote on X. “They had been eligible on a temporary restraining order that’s expired. The judge has indicated that her ruling on the injunction will not come until next week.” Both eligible prior to the expiration of their restraining order, Daley played in the first two games of the season and has seen 32 snaps, while Wyatt only played in week two and saw nine snaps. Both players have continued practicing with the team since the start of fall camp as their eligibility status has changed multiple times. They were both highly impactful a season ago before suffering injuries.

Daley had 19 tackles for loss to go with 41 quarterback pressures, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2025. He had 10 tackles for loss over the last three games of the regular season. In seven games Wyatt had 27 tackles in 2025, including 8.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks. The judge’s ruling next week will also impact IU basketball player Sam Alexis, who is also currently ineligible and part of the same group of plaintiffs seeking an injunction. “Per attorney Ryan Downton of the Texas Trial Group, the judge is expected to make a decision as soon as Monday next week,” Thamel wrote in a later post on X. “It will be no later than Friday, which means that No. 4 Indiana will have clarity before starting Big Ten play.” Indiana and Western Kentucky kick at 4 p.m. ET this afternoon and hosts Northwestern next Friday evening.

10th Annual Candy Stripe Crew to Be Held on October 18th Indiana women’s basketball will host the 10th annual Candy Stripe Crew basketball clinic on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1:45-3:15 p.m. ET at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. That changes Tonight. For the first time since 2017, the Fighting Irish and Spartans (2-0) will square off in the Battle for the Megaphone — a rivalry that once was a featured annual attraction because of its national championship implications. New Michigan State coach Pat Fitzgerald would like to keep this game on future schedules, too. “Not to play this game every year, it just stinks, I think for both fan bases and both teams,” he said. “It’s one of the great, storied traditions and rivalries in college football. Scheduling is a pain in the neck for everybody, but it’s always great to have your rivalry games on the schedule.” Irish coach Marcus Freeman also has said publicly he prefers to keep rivalry games on the schedule, though Notre Dame’s five-game tie-in to the ACC has made it more difficult.

The result: Southern California fell off the docket this year for the first time in a non-COVID year since 1946; Notre Dame and Michigan haven’t met since 2019 after playing almost every year starting in 1978; and Purdue dropped in 2015 after playing the Irish annually from 1996-2014. The Boilermakers and Notre Dame resumed their in-state rivalry in 2021 and will meet next week for the third straight year following another three-year hiatus. Notre Dame’s rivalry with the Spartans has included some dandies. The 1966 game between the nation’s top two teams ended in a 10-10 tie at East Lansing, Michigan, a game dubbed “The Game of the Century.” While this game won’t come with that hype, Freeman understands the Irish (2-0) must play well to avoid another September loss at home. “They’re physical, tough,” Freeman said. “They play hard. They don’t mess up. They don’t beat themselves. It’s obvious they have Pat Fitzgerald’s DNA written all over them. They’re going to be a good challenge for us.”

Notre Dame leads the rivalry 49-29-1, but Michigan State won 11 of the previous 19 meetings and won six straight road games in the series, a Notre Dame Stadium record for an opponent. They will meet again in 2027, but Fitzgerald would like this game to be on the Spartans’ schedule every year. “I’m honored to be a part of college football, I’m honored to be part of rivalries,” Fitzgerald said. “This is one of the storied rivalries in college football, one that dates back all the way to 1897. Notre Dame Stadium is one of the cathedrals of college football. It’s got a great pageantry, great atmosphere, so it’s great to always be a part of those types of games.”

Pat Fitzgerald has special memories of playing and coaching at Notre Dame Stadium. He played on the 1995 Northwestern team that upset No. 9 Notre Dame 17-15, a victory that propelled the Wildcats to end a 23-year streak of losing seasons by winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl. As the Northwestern coach in 2014, his team won 43-40 in overtime. NFL scouts are salivating over two Irish potential first-round draft picks, cornerback Leonard Moore and safety Adon Shuler. Fitzgerald, a former linebacker understands why. “Their defense is physical and violent at each level. They’ve got a first-round corner, potentially the first pick overall, they’ve got talent everywhere,” Fitzgerald said. “I mean Moore’s going to be, he might be the first pick overall. It doesn’t take long for you to see Schuler (on tape).”

Notre Dame is averaging 46.5 points a game, led by quarterback CJ Carr, who is completing 71.4% of his throws and is within two games of matching Brady Quinn’s school record of 16 consecutive games with a TD pass. Defensively, the Irish limited Rice to 128 total yards, their lowest single-game total since 2008 when Washington had 124. Michigan State running back Cam Edwards leads the Big Ten in rushing and is fifth in the nation, averaging 125 yards per game. He has run for three scores on 27 carries and is fourth among FBS active rushers with 2,940 yards in his career. Quarterback Alessio Milivojevic has thrown for 417 yards and three scores with no interceptions.

Caitlin Clark’s Nike signature shoe arrives October 1st with ‘Caitlin Blue’ and ‘Warning Code Yellow’ Caitlin Clark doesn’t have much longer to wait for her first signature shoe to come out.
