Bicyclist hit by Officer dies
<\/strong>An Indianapolis Metro Police Officer, while heading to a domestic violence call around 2pm, driving eastbound on E. 10th Street, collided with a cyclist. The cyclist died after first being listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPD said\u00a0a vehicle in front of the officer failed to yield into the right lane. The officer conducted an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision with the vehicle and unsuccessfully attempted to avoid a collision with a cyclist, who was also headed westbound. The officer went to the cyclist to offer medical care and immediately called for EMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer involved in the crash was uninjured. The officer was equipped with body-worn cameras activated during the incident. Internal Affairs are conducting an administrative investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Teri Moren wins second Gold Medal
<\/strong>Indiana head coach\u00a0Teri Moren<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0is now a two-time gold medalist as she helped USA Basketball’s U19 women’s team to a win in the championship game of FIBA U19 Women’s Championships on Sunday night. USA defeated Spain, 69-66, in Madrid, Spain. Moren previously won a gold medal with the same group playing in the 2022 U18 Women’s Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reigning AP National Coach of the Year and the IU program’s all-time winningest coach, Moren has compiled a 200-93 record (99-57 Big Ten) during her nine seasons in Bloomington. She’s enjoyed eight straight 20-win seasons, doubling the number of 20-win seasons that the program enjoyed in the previous 41 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She’s coming off a 2022-23 season where she guided the program to a 28-4 overall record, its first Big Ten regular season championship in 40 years, and its first-ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  Her IU teams have earned invitations to each of the last four NCAA Tournaments and five overall during her tenure. Each of her NCAA-bound IU teams have won at least one NCAA Tournament game, while the 2020-21 team advanced to the Elite Eight and the 2021-22 team to the Sweet 16. In addition to the NCAA berths the team earned two WNIT invitations, highlighted by the 2018 WNIT Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorney General partners with Sammy Terry to return unclaimed property during 2023 Indiana State Fair<\/strong>
Attorney General Todd Rokita is partnering with the longest running TV horror host in the world, Sammy Terry, to treat Hoosiers with more than fair food during this year’s Indiana State Fair. Team members will be available to assist Hoosiers with unclaimed property searches. Staff will also have information and tips to help consumers protect themselves from identity theft and other scams. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indiana State Fair runs from Friday, July 28, to Sunday, Aug. 20, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorney General Rokita\u2019s booth is located in the Agriculture and Horticulture Building and will be staffed from 9am- 8pm each day. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
