The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a Forensic Scientist III position to serve in the Forensic Biology (DNA) Unit at the Indianapolis Regional Laboratory.Primary responsibility is to conduct forensic analysis of routine biological materials.\u00a0 To testify in court as an expert witness in the field of forensic biological analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Forensic Science is required. Must have successfully completed the following courses prior to performing DNA casework: Genetics, Statistics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.\u00a0 Basic knowledge of the theory and practical operation of a variety of scientific instrumentation and analytical techniques. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with both scientific and nonscientific personnel. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pay starts at\u00a0$63,869.00\u00a0per year, and may be adjusted based on education, experience, and training.\u00a0Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans and accrued time off.\u00a0*Applications are only accepted electronically via the ISP online portal.
