Indiana University Men’s Basketball officially announces the Signing of Bellarmine Transfer Langdon Hatton <\/strong>
IU Head Coach\u00a0Mike Woodson announced the addition of transfer Langdon Hatton to Indiana Men’s Basketball on Thursday. Hatton, an Indiana native, will join Indiana after spending three seasons at Bellarmine and William & Mary. “Langdon is an experienced, versatile big man that will help us with our frontcourt depth. He is a big body that can work in the post, get after the glass, and step out to knock down a shot. He is an Indiana kid that plays the right way, and we are excited to bring him home to the Hoosier state” Head Coach Mike Woodson said in a press release

The 6-10, 240-pound center averaged 6.9 points and 4.6 rebounds to go along with 60 assists and 45 stocks (steals plus blocks) in two seasons at Bellarmine. He shot 50.3% (176-of-350) and 34.0% (16-of-47) from the 3-point line. He added five double doubles with the Knights. Hatton began his career at William & Mary and earned Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week honors on Jan. 17, 2022. While with the Tribe, he averaged 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. Hatton shot 45.4% (49-of-108) from the floor and 62.3% (33-of-53) from the free throw line.

During his prep career, Hatton was named an IBCA\/Franciscan Health All-State at North Harrison. He posted 18.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.3 blocked shots per game as a junior and shot 63% from the field, 39% from behind the arc, and 78% at the free throw line. As a sophomore, he added 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.7 blocked shots per game with shooting percentages of 58% from the field, 38% from deep, and 72% at the free throw line. Hatton was a three-time All-Mid-Southern Conference honoree.

Indiana University Football adds Linebacker Rolijah Hardy to the 2024 Roster<\/strong>
The IU football program has made a late addition to the 2024 roster at linebacker. Lakeland, Fla. based Rolijah Hardy announced his commitment to Indiana on his X account. Part of the class of 2023, Hardy signed with Navy out of high school. As a senior at Lakeland H.S. in 2022, Hardy led his team with 101 total tackles, including 69 solo tackles.\u00a0 He had 11.5 tackles for loss, and added two sacks, five quarterback pressures, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He was the Lakeland Ledger\u2019s 2022 big school\u00a0defensive player of the year. In addition to Navy, Hardy\u2019s offers out of high school included Arkansas State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgetown, Incarnate Word, Middle Tennessee State, Rhode Island, South Dakota, South Florida, Tulane and Western Michigan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indiana University Softball to Open NCAA Regional Play Against Washington<\/strong>
Indiana Softball will open NCAA Tournament play against No. 2 Seed Washington in the Columbia Regional this afternoon at 3 p.m. (ET)\/2 p.m. (CT).\u00a0The No. 3 seed Hoosiers are in the Columbia Regional along with the Huskies, No. 1 seed and host Missouri and No. 4 seed Omaha.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire schedule for the regional is as follows.  Friday, May 17th-Game 1 \u2013 Washington vs. Indiana \u2013 3 PM (ET) and Game 2 \u2013 Missouri vs. Omaha \u2013 5:30 PM (ET) Saturday, May 18th–<\/strong>Game 3 \u2013 Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 \u2013 3 PM (ET), Game 4 \u2013 Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 \u2013 5:30 PM (ET) and Game 5 \u2013 Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3 \u2013 8 PM (ET)  Sunday, May 19th Game 6 \u2013 Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5 \u2013 TBD and Game 7 \u2013 Winner Game 6 vs. Loser Game 6 \u2013 TBD (If Necessary) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the Hoosiers\u2019 second consecutive year in the NCAA Tournament after earning the No. 2 seed in the Knoxville Regional in 2023.   Indiana enters the NCAA Tournament with plenty of momentum after a run to the Big Ten Tournament Final last weekend as the event\u2019s No. 8 seed. The Hoosiers defeated No. 9 seed Purdue, No. 1 seed Northwestern and No. 4 seed Nebraska in its tournament run.  The Big Ten Tournament\u2019s title game was a tough, but close one as the Hoosiers fell to No. 2 seed Michigan, 3-1. Indiana\u2019s trip to Columbia marks back-to-back years in the NCAA Tournament. It is also the second consecutive season where the Hoosiers compiled 40-plus wins and a trip to the Big Ten Championship.  Since the start of April, Indiana has logged a 17-7 record.     The Hoosiers\u2019 opening opponent in the tournament, Washington, will make for a future Big Ten conference matchup as the Huskies join the Big Ten next season. Indiana started the season off with a win over another future west coast Big Ten school in Oregon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Big Ten Tournament\u2019s opening game, Indiana took care of No. 9 seed Purdue, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first two innings. Junior Brianna Copeland had a dominant day in the circle, pitching a complete game in the 6-3 win while logging nine strikeouts.   Next, Indiana defeated No. 1 seed and Big Ten regular season champ Northwestern, 4-3. Freshman Alex Cooper tied the game in the top of the fourth, 1-1, on a home run to center field before the Hoosiers had two bases-loaded walks to go up 3-1 in the fifth. Indiana would hold on to the lead the remainder of the way to win 4-3.  After trailing 3-0 for much of the game, Indiana won its semifinal over Nebraska in dramatic fashion. In the top of the seventh inning, Cooper hit a solo home run to tie the game at 3-3. In the eighth inning, Indiana rallied to drop six runs and take a 9-3 lead. Nebraska would get two more in the bottom half, but it wouldn\u2019t matter as Indiana won the game, 9-5.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Columbia Regional is loaded with high-level teams alongside the Hoosiers. Missouri is the No. 7 overall national seed in the entire tournament after a 43-15 season and a run to the SEC Championship game before falling to Florida, 6-1. Missouri went 5-3 in SEC weekend series play, logging series wins over Auburn, LSU, Florida, Mississippi State and South Carolina. Washington went 31-13 in the 2024 campaign with a 13-10 mark in conference play. The Huskies notably took two of three games at No. 14 UCLA and No. 20 California while also logging wins over No. 22 Oregon and No. 7 Stanford. Washington fell in its opening game of the PAC-12 tournament against No. 18 Arizona.  Omaha was 41-13 this season and went 14-4 in Summit League play before winning the Summit League Tournament. Today’s matchup vs. Washington will be the fourth ever meeting between the two teams and first since 2017.  Indiana has not played Missouri since 2001 and is 3-1 all time versus Omaha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indianapolis Colts announce 2024 Regular Season Schedule <\/strong> The Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday unveiled their 2024 regular season schedule, which includes eight home games at Lucas Oil Stadium \u2013 including a massive season-opening showdown against C.J. Stroud and the defending AFC South champion Houston Texans. The Colts also are scheduled for one primetime game \u2013 a Sunday night football date with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 11. Taylor University Women’s Golf finishes 18th at the NAIA Championships <\/strong>
After posting the fourth-best team score of round one at the NAIA National Championships, the Taylor women\u2019s golf team struggled on day two, shooting a 335 and falling to 18th to miss the cut by two shots. TU ended its second round with a total score of 649, putting the Trojans just one spot shy of making the cut into the final two rounds on Thursday and Friday. The 18th-place finish is TU\u2019s sixth-straight team finish inside the top-20 at Nationals. Shayne Lim followed her opening round score of 77 with an identical score on Wednesday to end in 16th and punch her ticket to compete as an individual over the final 36 holes. Lim was the lone Trojan to advance however, as the rest of TU\u2019s lineup all finished outside of the top-40 to miss the cut. Margarita Garrido, Ellie Beavins and Elizabeth Kemper all finished inside the top-100, with Garrido ending in 61st and Beavins and Kemper tying for 94th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indianapolis Colts Announce the 2024 Preseason Schedule <\/strong>
In addition to announcing their\u00a02024 regular season schedule, the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday also announced who they’ll play during the 2024 preseason this summer. The Colts will host the Denver Broncos in Week 1 of the preseason before welcoming the Arizona Cardinals to Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 2. The Colts’ preseason will conclude with a road date against the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason Week 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
